Capital punishment. Some people say that capital punishment should not be abolished. In some points I agree with it but in another points I disagree. When somebody kill someone, then it is impossible describe the pain that family members and friends have to feel. So it seems fair to punish murderer in that awful way, but then murderers family members get hurt and it would be vicious circle. Also the death penalty takes away opportunity to regret those horrible mistakes. Some people can change and would live life properly. But then, some people can't change themselves and they could do same mistakes over and over again. Then it seems right again to punish them with the death penalty. Of course from economical side capital punishment is better than maintaining serious criminals at public expence

Meeting the wolf

Meeting the wolf Many years ago on Sunday a young girl walked on a lonely road. The sun was shining and light clouds were in the sky. She was on her way home. Suddenly the sun disappeared and dark clouds appeared in the sky. She felt a little scared but didn't pay much attention on it. Before she could find any place to hide, it started raining. The weather was getting worse and worse until there were an awful thunderstorm. The girl had nowhere to go, she was frightened and started crying. She heard something moving in the bushes which scared her even more. She tried to be quiet and see what was in the bushes but she didn't see anything. As soon as she took a deep breath, the wolf jumped out of the bushes. He sniffed around and then started to move towards the girl. She started screaming and the wolf started howling. Neither of them knew what to do until the girl tried to get closer to the wolf

The plaque surface where the message was engraved was scratched and silver but it should have been golden, like it was written in the advertisement. Thirdly, it was mentioned that each figure comes on a wooden stand but mine was on a plastic stand and I noticed some trace of glue, this seemed quite careless. Furthermore, it was wrapped up very carelessly and there were many little pieces in the box. They were very dangerous for children. The beautiful China Figure turned out to be an awful cracked figure. As you can imagine, I am very disappointed. I didn't expect to be betrayed by your company and now I feel I am entitled to a refund in addition to an apology for the inconvenience caused. I look forward to receiving a prompt reply. Losses of our life

Losses of our life Losing is an everyday phenomenon, whether you lose a sock, a pen or your keys, but aswell things, people tend to get lost too. Some are found and alive, but some are not, and it´s a tragedy. I can´t imagine losing a beloved one, it would be awful, but so many of us have to face this terrible situation, where you don´t know if the person is safe and alright. As always, there are situations where the person doesn´t want to be found, or where she/he disappears without a trace. The reasons of disappearing are very variable, from criminal cases, trafficking in human beings, getting recruited as prostitutes to very hidden and deeply personal matters. The average amout of missing people in Estonia is 199 persons per year, although 70% of

Tess - Guilty or not ?

The first misadventure which leads to others is when Tess has to go to the market. Tess accidentally kills the horse. She feels guilt but in my opinion it was not her fault because after all it was her father's task not Tess'. Her father could not go because he was too drunk. However, Tess feels like she is responsible and that she has to do something good for her family. In order to compensate her mistake she goes to work for a rich relative in a bird farm. There happens another awful thing she gets pregnant from her so called cousin Alec D' Urberville. Yet again it is not Tess' fault because her mother has not taught to Tess essential things about life and men. What makes it even worse is that Tess does not agree to marry Alec. When her baby dies Tess decides to escape her homevillage. She starts working in a farm as a milkmaid. There she meets her love of the life Angel Clare. Next mistake she makes is when she does not tell to Angel about Alec and the baby.

Clearly, it seems that your enterprise has some serious issues with staff and to resolve the problem I would appreciate that you would fire the incompetent waitress (Mary Smith) or atleast give her a harsh warning or knowledge of what she has done. And also I would recommend taking the jalapeno flavour out of the french fries, because it tastes awful, and the bill for the dishes was certainly not in correspondence with the quality of food, serving and atmosphere. Although, it that dinner was such a disappointment, I have to say the interior and the basic structure of the idea is great. Tolerance.

Tolerance Ladies and gentlemen, before I move to my actual topic, think with me for a second on this scenario... A black exchange student from Kenya comes to our school and you see him getting beaten up by a bunch of bullies without no apparent reason, what would you do? More then a few of us pretend as if they had not seen anything. I myself would feel awful, but I wouldn't know what to do either. Although I would condone myself with the idea, that life is difficult and it's just something you have to deal with. But does tolerance mean that all manners should be accepted? No, of course not. Manners that disrespect or hurt others, like being mean or bullying, or manners that break social rules, like lying or stealing, should not be tolerated. Tolerance is about accepting people for who they are -- not about accepting bad behavior

He was honest and played very well. In general I think all the actors did a wonderful job, because I assume that it is very hard to play a member of the royal family in today's modern society. The most important characters were: Tony Blair (Michael Sheen, as mentioned before), Queen Elizabeth II (Helen Mirren) and Prince Philip (James Cromwell). To conclude I would say that it was an interesting movie, but I wouldn't consider it as an entertainment. The film makes you think about how awful was Diana's accident and reminds you how good person she was, as Tony said in the movie, she was People's Princess.

At the end, Dorian gets so low in his behaviour and beliefs (he only believes in beauty as such, art and other sensuous pleasures) that even after turning his back to Basil, B tries to help him, save him from his ,,ideal life" of sensuous pleasures, but Dorian acts like a lunatic and stabs Basil in the back. Character sketch - Melanie, Oranges are not the only fruit by Jeanette Winterson

Jeanette's church she acted shy and didn't sing along with others. When the pastor urged sinners to raise their hand Melanie pushed hers into the air. Churchgoers prayed for her and Jeanette started going to Melanie's each Monday to read the Bible together and pray. Girls became friends, but soon after felt differently towards each other. `Do you think this is Unnatural Passion?' asked Jeanette once. `Doesn't feel like it. According to Pastor Finch, that's awful.' answered Melanie. The more they spent time together, the stronger their feelings got though neither of them admitted it out loud. However, everything changed after Jeanette told her mother about Melanie. Next time in church the girls were ambushed. `These children of God,' began the pastor, `have fallen under Satan's spell.' When asked, Jeanette admits that she loves Melanie, but Melanie isn't as strong as her lover and she promises to the pastor that she

So 1988, year of The Olympic games of Seoul, opened under the challenge of these two men. Millions of new homes will need to be built in the next decade or so. The problem is not just that Britain is a densely populated country. Housing takes up an awful lot of space and eats up too much countryside. A "green points" system has been drawn up, whereby developers can obtain planning permission only if they achieve a certain score. In this century, almost half of the new homes built have been flats. The question is whether enough people in Britain will accept this more communal, less private, lifestyle. Thank you for listening

Addiction and drugs

Secondly some people start smoking because there's a rumour saying that it's slimming. And another reason may be that it may relieve stress. After three or four cigarettes you get addicted to it because of nicotine. It is a drug that stimulates the brain. When the level of nicotine falls in your blood and you're a regular smoker, you usually develop withdrawal symptoms, such as craving, anxiety, restlessness, headaches, irritability, hunger, difficulty with concentration, or just feeling awful. These symptoms are relieved by the next cigarette. Most smokers need to smoke regularly to feel normal and to prevent nicotine withdrawal symptoms. So once you start smoking it is very hard to quit. But why is smoking so harmful? Cigarettes have tar in them which contains many chemicals. These deposit in the lungs and can get into the blood vessels and are carried to other parts of the body. We walked and walked, not even knowing the direction we were heading to, until we reached a huge mansion. And the garden around it was so extraordinary... That is something you just must see! But neither the trees nor flowers could be as wonderful as the owner himself! Sir Thom treated us tea and sandwiches, not forgetting to show us way back to the village. He was so kind, don't you think?

I'll tell you where. It's hiding behind a damned set of targets and objectives that's where it is! You need to know your audience very well to use this kind of language. ENGLISH TOPICS - palju teemasid inglise keele riigieksami kordamiseks

On the average, Britain has more than 200 rainy days a year. The English say that they have 3 variants of weather: when it rains in the morning, when it rains in the afternoon, and when it rains all day long. Sometimes it rains so heavily, that they say «It's raining cats and dogs». Britain is known all over the world for its fogs. Sometimes fogs are so thick that it's impossible to see anything within a few meters. The winter fogs of London are, indeed, awful; they surpass all imagination. In a dense fog all traffic is stopped, no vehicle can move from fear of dreadful accidents. So, we may say that the British climate has three main features: it is mild, humid and very changeable. Vocabulary: to surround -- insular climate -- to determine -- temperate belt -- prevailing winds -- the Gulf Stream -- to flow -- shores -- moderate -- striking difference -- throughout -- fickle -- wet -- to blow -- It's raining cats and dogs -- fog -- awful --

which Larkin denominates “the furniture of our lives” (1983, 211) 102. Bruce K. Martin affects this rooting of the poetry of Larkin in his time when affirming: “Taken together, his poems afford a remarkable panorama of British life at mid-century, particularly as it has been lived in the towns of the North and Midlands”. (1989, 144). Between the famous works: “Awful Foot” (T315, 22) of “Dockery and is”; “That bases” (119, 10) of “Home is Under Sad”; or those telephones that “crouch” (T333, 45) in “Aubade”. That is to say, that for Larkin, if the poetry must be originated in the experience, nothing can be left outside. Both mention that there is a process that he characterizes as: “the prosaic phrases guarantee the more elevated and ‘poetic’ elements, rooting them in commonplace reality” (1992, 89)103.

over because he wants to annoy Cohn further, but he does tell Bill and Cohn that Brett and Mike are still in San Sebastian. Bill and Jake plan to take a bus to a small town called Burguete to go fishing, but Cohn decides to stay behind and wait for Brett and Mike. He admits to Jake that he wrote to Brett suggesting a meeting in San Sebastian. When Jake is alone with Bill, Bill reports that Cohn confided in him about his "date" with Brett. Bill says that he thinks Cohn is nice but "so awful." Summary: Chapter XI Bill and Jake board a crowded bus to ride to the small, rural town of Burguete. The bus is filled with Basque peasants (who inhabit a region shared by France and Spain in the Pyrenees Mountains). The Basques drink wine from wineskins. They offer their skins to Bill and Jake, who in turn share their bottles of wine. The Spanish countryside is beautiful, and it is cool on top of the bus where Bill and Jake sit. The Basques teach them the proper way to drink from a wine-bag

"Anna Karenina" kokkuvõte

With all that on his mind, Vronsky falls off his horse during the race and the horse, Frou Frou, dies: "She flew over the ditch as though not noticing it. She flew over it like a bird; but at the same instant Vronsky, to his horror, felt that he had failed to keep up with the mare's pace, that he had, he did not know how, made a fearful, unpardonable mistake, in recovering his seat in the saddle. All at once his position had shifted and he knew something awful had happened." Right before the race Vronsky goes to see Anna and learns of the pregnancy. Anna is astounded at Vronsky's reaction--he tells her she should come live with him and leave her husband and son once and for all. He proves that he knows her well when he tells her she is suffering from the guilt of society and her family, and she can never really be a whole person again unless she detaches herself from those forces.

I tried to appear attentive as Mr. Banner illustrated, with transparencies on the overhead projector, what I had seen without difficulty through the microscope. But my thoughts were unmanageable. When the bell finally rang, Edward rushed as swiftly and as gracefully from the room as he had last Monday. And, like last Monday, I stared after him in amazement. Mike skipped quickly to my side and picked up my books for me. I imagined him with a wagging tail. "That was awful," he groaned. "They all looked exactly the same. You're lucky you had Cullen for a partner." "I didn't have any trouble with it," I said, stung by his assumption. I regretted the snub instantly. "I've done the lab before, though," I added before he could get his feelings hurt. "Cullen seemed friendly enough today," he commented as we shrugged into our raincoats. He didn't seem pleased about it. I tried to sound indifferent. "I wonder what was with him last Monday."

Dimmesdale's and Hester's love are alike in their limitations. While Dimmesdale does speak up for Hester keeping her Pearl "Truth in what Hester says, and in the feeling which inspires her! God gave her the child, and gave her, too, an instinctive knowledge of its nature and requirements, both seemingly so peculiar, which no other moral being can posses. And, moreover, is there not a quality of awful sacredness in the relation between this mother and this child."(Dimmesdale 78) but he cannot love her enough to be her husband. The scene at the scaffolding at night is a truly disgusting scene of hypocrisy. Arthur seizes the opportunity to go up on the scaffolding and feel better about his sin, but when he sees a fellow man of the cloth walking by, he cowers. Would it not have been better to have his sin revealed? Then when Hester and Pear stand with him Pear asks "Wilt thou stand here
