Sisekontroll ja auditeerimine Siseauditi funktsiooni olemus Eesti majanduse areng on olnud suhteliselt kiire, mis tõi kaasa mitmeid arenguprobleeme, sest peale taasiseseisvumist majanduskeskkonnas praktiliselt puudus igasugune kontroll. Esialgu oldi seisukohal, et majandussektoris mingeid erilisi kontrolle ei vajatagi, kuna toimud nn iseregulatsioon e kontrolli teostab tarbija (turg).
