We feel and look better if we are clean. A person should have a shower a day to keep himself clean. Keeping oneself clean includes brushing our teeth. What we eat also affects our health. Our body needs vitamins and minerals, fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Our food should be varied. It is not healty to eat too much sweets. When we eat more food and get more calories than our body uses, we get fat. It is also good for our health to drink a few glasses of fresh water every day. To prevent diseases we should also have regular check-ups with the doctor and the dentist. History Human beings have suffered from diseases since they first appeared on Earth. Because of that medicines history is as old as human beings, meaning about 2.5 million years. First medicine was mainly based on superstition and guesswork, because people knew very little about humans body. Plants were very much used, because they were easy to get and they could treat very well.

Protestants, outlines how to identify a witch, what makes a woman more likely than a man to be a witch, how to put a witch on trial, and how to punish a witch. In the modern Western world, witchcraft accusations have often accompanied the satanic ritual abuse moral panic. Such accusations are a counterpart to blood libel of various kinds, which may be found throughout history across the globe. Though witch-craze took different forms at different times and places, but never lost its essential character: that of a ruling class campaign of terror directed against the female peasant population. Witches represented a political, religious and sexual threat to the Protestant and Catholic churches alike, as well as to the state. Many people were executed, and others were imprisoned, tortured, banished, and had lands and possessions confiscated. The majority of those accused were women.

again. Mead or mõdu, the drink that was most popular in ancient times, has almost completely disappeared. Nowadays, locally brewed beer is the number one choice to accompany food, different juices or simply water being the main non-alcoholic choice. Wine is widely drunk, and although it is still not as popular as beer, it is becoming all the more common. There are also Estonian fruit wines made of apples or different berries. Milk is also widely drunk by children as well as adults. Estonians are also proud of their vodka and other spirits, such as the herbal liquer Vana Tallinn. Two of Estonia's oldest breweries are A. Le Coq, founded in 1807, and Saku Brewery, founded in 1820. Other dairy products besides milk (Estonian: piim) include keefir and also hapupiim and pett, which are variations on the theme of buttermilk. Summer and Spring

Jüri Gümnaasium THE GREAT PLAGUE IN LONDON Research paper Ervin Sagor 10.h Supervisor: Kristel Kriisa Jüri 2011 TABLE OF CONTENTS INTRODUCTION The history of England has always been fascinating for me and plague was one the most horrifying diseases in human history with millions of deaths across the world. That is why I chose the Great Plague as the topic of my research. The purpose of my study is to educate myself and gain more knowledge on the history and find out how people lived in England in the seventeenth century. For a start, I will give a short review what the bubonic plague is. Then I tell about Black Death in England before the Great Plague, city life before and during the plague. Secondly, I

Extended Essay Research Question: To What Extent Does a Plant Based Diet Lower the Risk of Coronary Artery Disease? Subject: Biology Word Count: 3482 Abstract: Because there has been much debate over whether plant based diets are beneficial or not, I’m willing to learn more about it and since there’s eligible data available on the effects of vegetarian/vegan diets on cardiovascular diseases, my research question is formed accordingly: To what extent does a plant based diet lower the risk of coronary artery disease? The importance of this study lies in my own curiosity and my desire to acquire further knowledge on the prevention and treatment of coronary artery disease. In this investigation I will study two similar prospective studies on plant based diets and cardiovascular diseases, mainly coronary artery disease, to find out if the outcomes of one

Drugs and how they affect your health.

Drugs are chemicals that change the way a person's body works. You've probably heard that drugs are bad for you, but what does that mean and why are they bad? Medicines Are Legal Drugs If you've ever been sick and had to take medicine, you already know about one kind of drugs. Medicines are legal drugs, meaning doctors are allowed to prescribe them for patients, stores can sell them, and people are allowed to buy them. But it's not legal, or safe, for people to use these medicines any way they want. Cigarettes and Alcohol Cigarettes and alcohol are two other kinds of legal drugs. (In Estonia, adults 18 can buy cigarettes and alcohol.) But smoking and excessive drinking are not healthy for adults and off limits for kids.

THE CAPITALIST NIGER

Harold McMillan articulated his now famous “winds of change” sweeping Africa. We had high hopes for Africa, for the Black race, that the insidious imposition of foreign rule on us, the looting of Africa’s natural resources by our colonial masters accorded us would be things of history. That is more than forty years ago. Unfortunately, the promise of independence has not been fulfilled. Today, Africa has become more desolate; there is more starvation, diseases and non-provision of essential services than when we got our independence. There are all kinds of wars in Africa than the rest of world put together. The majority of so-called Africans leaders want to stay in power until the day their bodies are put in the grave. Through buffoonery, utter mismanagement and downright stealing of the wealth of the masses, these leaders have so impoverished Africa that we are now nothing but a beggar continent. We beg for

So when the patient was shown an image that was projected to his or hers left hemisphere of the brain he or she could easily identify the object. But when it was shown so it would be projected in the right hemisphere, the participant could not verbally identify the object, although he or she could point out what it was, if cards with different words were shown. This evidence implicates that the language processing happens mainly in the left hemisphere of the brain. To test what the right hemisphere of the brain might localize in another test with a split-brain patient was carried out. It is known that the right hand is governed by the left hemisphere and the left hand by the right. So the patient was asked to solve a visual constructional task with blocks. He could solve it with his left hand, governed

By the early 20th century, the United States had become a major centre for folk music from around the world, including polka, Ukrainian and Polish fiddling, Ashkenazi Jewish klezmer and several kinds of Latin music. The United States has produced many of the most popular musicians and composers in the modern world. Beginning with the birth of recorded music, American performers have continued to lead the field of popular music. Now there are very different types of music in America: jazz, blues, gospel, pop, rock, punk, soul, R&B, country, hip hop, rap, metal etc. Some famous American musicians are and have been Elvis Presley, Scott Joplin, Louis Armstrong, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Mariah Carey, Usher, Beyonce, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Food Some describe American cuisine as the result of each immigrant community simply making use

1880s. In the first two decades of the twentieth century, immigrants were entering the USA at an average of three-quarters of a million a year. In 1900, the population was just over 75 million. This total had doubled by 1950. [3, p.35] Within one or two generations of arrival, most of these immigrant families had come to speak English, through a natural process of assimilation. Grandparents and grandchildren found themselves living in very different linguistic worlds. The result was a massive growth in mother-tongue use of English. [3, p.35] According to the 1990 census, the number of people (over five years of age) who spoke only English at home had grown to over 198 million - 86 per cent of the population. This figure increased to 215 million in the 2000 census. This is almost four times as many mother-tongue speakers as any other nation. [3, p. 36]

musician (inducements, scope of ideas, intentions) and the listener-auditor (traditionalism, novelty, subjective wishes), can be answered most effectively by the music itself. Thus many unanswered questions remain. Therefore, this book should be considered as an attempt to convey a general picture. Moreover, I had to set limits in the treatment of the historical-cultural status forming an integral part of the whole. A book on this subject may be conceived in two different ways: 1) Laying the main emphasis on symphonism as the creative method and demonstrating how different composers in different periods have applied it individually. In this case the creative method would be the “axis” with the composer “spinning” around it. This is a deductive form of research. 2) Observing Estonian symphonic output both in an exact and broad sense and connecting these aspects. Both the individuality of the creative method with the

Education is a very important part in the life of British youth. One can't become an independent person without it. When time comes to enter a college a young Englishman chooses one far away from home. It is a necessary part of becoming adult. During the last 30 years there were a lot of different trends in youth movements. All of them were characterized by their own philosophy, way of life, style of dressing. Each tendency was born by the influence of economic and political changes in the society. Those trends are known as the "hippies" the "punks" the "rockers". But certainly there are different traditional youth organizations in Great Britain. Among them -- the Scout Association, the Girl Guides Association, the National Union of Students, the Youth Club

At what developmental stage children should be exposed to various subjects is wholly unfamiliar to me. I recall my love of art in the 3rd grade, of science in 8th grade, of comparative literature in 11th grade. Probably each student learns at an individual pace, and has personal likes and dislikes, yet overall some fair generalizations can be made about what approach usually works best for most children at various ages. Education for adults is so much different. Almost all of my teaching has been directed to adults. I've dealt with preschoolers, elementary and junior high school kids exclusively in my role as a plant expert showing them the joy and wonder of wild plants. Until I do more teaching children, I can't say I've developed any insights or made any guidelines, except I know all students respond to enthusiasm and like to become fascinated. law. Descriptive law – describes the way people or natural phenomena behave, e. g. law of gravity Prescriptive law – prescribe how people ought to behave e.g. speed limits In all societies relations between people are regulated by prescriptive law; customs (informal rules of social and moral behaviour); rules we accept if we belong to a particular institution (religion, organization); laws imposed on people by a government Penalties for breaking the rules are different. For not following the customs there may not be a punishment, or a person may be criticized by the society; rules of a social institution tend to carry precise penalties but they are not enforceable by any political authority; however governments use a system of courts backed by the power of the police to enforce the laws they have made. The relations between people are regulated by a combination of all these rules.

However, many people propose that the author could be Christian poet, perhaps a monk, versed not only in old native traditions, but also in the culture and literature of the Latin Church, and whose purpose of writing was highly moral. For example, the fate is a `providentia' and the monster Grendel is an embodiment of evil fighting against Christian militant. This contrast corresponds to the poem itself. The poet is looking back from his own Christian times to an old society with different customs and beliefs. The poem is set, as it is announced in the very first line: `in days gone by'. For instance, the poet and his fellow Christians who can know that Grendel belongs to the race of monsters descended from Cain. For the Danish king he is the only a mysterious creature, for he doesn't know the Bibel. Again, when aged B. is killed by the dragon, the poet observes that his soul departs from the body. These cultivars are less attractive to gardeners growing the flowers as ornamental plants, but appeal to farmers, because they reduce bird damage and losses from some plant diseases. There are also new breeds of sunflowers which are transgenic, so that they are resistant to some diseases.[citation needed] Sunflowers also produce latex and are the subject of experiments to improve their suitability as an alternative crop for producing hypoallergenic rubber. Additionally, the stem of a dead sunflower can dry out open wounds.[citation needed] For farmers not intending to grow it, the sunflower is considered a noxious weed. The

Any life-form in any realm – mineral, vegetable, animal, or human – can be said to undergo “enlightenment.” It is, however, an extremely rare occurrence since it is more than an evolutionary progression: It also implies a discontinuity in its development, a leap to an entirely different level of Being and, most important, a lessening of materiality. So in my role as an experimental social psychologist, I began to research the psychology of compliance. At first the research took the form of experiments per- formed, for the most part, in my laboratory and on college students. I wanted to find out which psychological principles influenced the tendency to comply with a request. Right now, psychologists know quite a bit about these principles-what they are and how they work

From this analysis, it was discovered that one of the reasons why there has been an increase in the design and construction of buildings with highly complicated geometry is the advent of 3D and BIM tools. The main themes that emerged were: • 3D and BIM increase collaboration between different project participants; • A reduction in construction time is evident only when the building models are openly shared; • Intelligent models help to find clashes and reduce re-work; • Models increase accuracy during fabrication and construction; • Shop-drawing review is sped up; • Steel design takes place in a more concurrent fashion; • 3D illustrations help to explain erection sequencing; • Building models provide rigging information for erection crews.
