Home reading ( magazine article ) : 1. " Government fails to serve up free school meals for all " from http://www.timesonline.co.uk 2. The article is about Scottish government who has failed to achieve it's goal of extending free school meals to all children in the first three years of education. This healthy meal serving is now extended because of the tight public finances caused by the economic slump. There's mentioned that at the moment government can only offer a healthy lunch for 20% of the pupils in Scotland. 3. This topic is interesting because now I can compare my school lunch with Scottish meals. Here we have it for free until the end of the primary school. It's also interesting to read how are they handling with this economic crisis. 4. reluctance vastumeelsus, magnetiline takistus provision säte, lepingutingimus acute, akuutne, terav 5. Proposal I think our school lunch breakbrake system has gone out of control. There are too many people eating at the same time and canteen workers have to rush all the time, because everyone has to have food on their table. Many people have already stopped eating in the canteen and are buying snacks, hamburgers and Ffrench fries, which has a negative effect on pupils weight and healthiness. School should be the first place for students, where to go eating. We have to wait in the line for 10 minutes and then we have only 10 minutes for eating and together with having no space while having a lunch it makes a big chaos. Even our school chefs have asked us to talk with our teachers to make it reasonable and convenient for everybody. Students and also school canteen workers feel, like they don't have a say in school affairs. As a result workers may start protesting and pupils will go eat comfort fo...

To: Penelope MacSparron, head teacher From: Mari Mets, student Subject: Suggested improvements to school Date: 1 Decembre 2009 Purpose The purpose of this report is to comment conditions in the school and to make recommendations for possible improvements. The survey has been conducted among our class students. Canteen Firstly, the canteen`s food prices are too low and service is very slow. It would be a good idea to mark down the price of food and to put meals on the table before lunch break. As result service would be faster and more students could afford eating school lunch . Library Furthermore, the majority of the students (56%) are not agreed with library opening hours and range of books. By buying more books and changing library opening hours, we could solve the problem. Teachers` teaching styles Last, the minority of our class students (22%) do not like the teachers` teaching styles. Teachers should explain more clearly ...
Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing in the hope that you can help me with a problem regarding a camera that I have bought recently. On 24 April, I purchased a Canon digital SLR camera from a duty-free shop at Freetown Airport on my way from Freetown to Wondercity. The camera cost $599, and I paid for it by credit card. When I arrived at my hotel in Wondercity almost 24 hours later, I discovered that the box which contained the camera did not include the battery, and the space in the box for the charger was empty. I am now in Wondercity, and I am not returning to Freetown, so I need to get the missing parts here. I would be grateful if you could arrange for the parts to be sent to me. I attach a copy of the receipt for your information. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Introduction This report looks at the dietary habits of twenty students in their final year at Freedonian Secondary School. The report is bas...

Teachers would serve as mentors and facilitators, sharing their educational passions and helping children learn to help themselves. USA Today Jõe tänav 1 7950 Jones Branch Drive Rapla 79520 McLean, VA 22108 Estonia USA 9th September 2009 Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing with regard to the article 'Txting away ur education' in The Forum column. I have to admit that I was truly inspired by it! I acknowledge the problem of students sending too many text messages and hardly paying any attention at school. First, I have to agree with the argument about declaring war on texting as a new way to be in contact with fellow students over the break, class or other activity. Also, it is important to point out the fact that, according to the Nielsen Co., teens over the country were in the year 2009 sending at least 80 texts a day on average...

Summary: We meet high school junior Isabella Swan, or Bella as she prefers to be called. She is a very pale skinned brunette with a quick mind and a sarcastic sense of humor. She is leaving her mother and stepfather's home in Phoenix, Arizona to live with her father in Forks, Washington. She feels she needs to give her mother, Renee, space to be with her new husband, Phil, who is a minor league baseball ballplayer. She's apprehensive about moving in with her dad, Charlie, who is the town's sheriff. Up until now, they have only ever spent parts of summers together. Bella hasn't been to Forks in three years. Forks couldn't be more different than sunny, metropolitan Phoenix if it tried. The weather is cool, overcast, and clammy most days. Forks High School, where Bella is to start school the following day only has 358 students including Bella. Charlie picks Bella up at the Port Angles airport. Bella finds conversing with Charlie stilted ...
My future career. I often think about my future plans and career. Now I am studying at the secondary school. But after finishing school I try to enter at the university. It is very difficult for me to make the right choice of my future profession. There are many different professions and you can find exactly that which interests you. For example, waiter, manager, actress, lawyer, doctor and so on. To decide, what kind of work suits me, helps communication with adults, meetings with representatives of universities and large selection of useful literature. Also I need to think about how well I can do what I would like to do. In my opinion, very interesting and noble profession is a doctor. I understand that it is necessary to study a lot to become a doctor. You must have good knowledge of biology, chemistry and mathematics. I realize that I should know the foreign languages too. Of course, much will depend from my exams result. So now ...
Eating out More and more of us are eating out on a regular basis, whether its for a business lunch, a girls get together or for a family meal. Eating out usually means that we have little control over how the food is prepared or how large the portion is. Foods eaten out tend to be higher in fat and research has shown that those who eat out regularly generally have higher intakes of fat, salt and calories. Studis have also shown that eating with friends can tempt us to overeat. Unlike packaged food, doods bought from cafes, restaurants dont have to carry nutritional information and so opting for the healthiest option might not always be abvious or easy. However, with some knownledge and thought, eating out can be enjoyable and healthy. Sometimes i like eating out with friends. Eating out with friends is the way to talking about our school day. I like our talkings beyond school. We always eat our favorite...
Summary: It's Bella's second day at her new school and while it is a better day in some ways, in others it is much worse. Mike continues to be very friendly, much to Eric's displeasure, which Bella finds flattering, however, she is not interested in Mike and realises she will have to do something about his over-friendly behaviour. Bella is also feeling more confident because she recognises more faces and people are looking at her less than the day before something that, for Bella, is very important. Her day gets worse when she gives the wrong answer in Trig and has to play Volley-ball ending up hitting her team mate on the head with the ball giving us further proof of her clumsy nature. However, the worst part of this second day is that Edward Cullen is not in school and for some reason Bella can't stop thinking about him and his behaviour of the previous day. She feels nervous and uncomfortable, waiting to see if he is in schoo...
BULLYING Bullying is a very big problem in almost every school. When bullying goes out of the limit, it might end with a terrible gunfire(Colombian massacre). I believe everyone have been bullied by someone and have been a bully for a once. Bullying is an issue that is very important in nowadays and needs a special attention. Some of the ways to bully other people are by: calling you names, making things up to get you into trouble, hitting, pinching, biting and pushing, taking things away from you, damaging your belongings, stealing your money, taking your friends away from you. Now, to talk about why people bully someone there are many aspects. Some bullies do it to get attention or to make other people afraid of them. Others might be jealous of the person they are bullying. It makes bully feel, stronger, smarter, or better than the person he or she is bullying. Some people think that it's one of the ...

Bullying In march 2000 an honour-roll student named Hamed Nastoh jumped off the Pattullo Bridge in New Westminster, B.C. Hamed, 14, left a seven-page note that said he was killing himself because his classmates tormented him with names like gay or faggot. He had never told his mother he was being bullied. A few months later, on November 10, another 14-year-old, Dawn-Marie Wesley of Mission, B.C., hanged herself with a dog leash in her bedroom. She too left a note for her family. It read: "If I try to get help, it will get worse. They are always looking for a new person to beat up, and they are the toughest girls. If I ratted, there would be no stopping them. I love you all so much!" Most Canadians remember the tragic 1997 murder of Reena Virk, a high-school student whose battered body was recovered from the Gorge Waterway, near Victoria. Her head and internal organs had been severely damaged by a ...

British Cuisine Some people criticize English food. They say it's unimaginable, boring, tasteless, it's chips with everything and totally overcooked vegetables. The basic ingredients, when fresh, are so full of flavour that British haven't had to invent sauces to disguise their natural taste. What can compare with fresh pees or new potatoes just boiled and served with butter? Why drown spring lamb in wine or cream and spices, when with just one or two herbs it is absolutely delicious? If you ask foreigners to name some typically English dishes, they will probably say "Fish and chips" then stop. It is disappointing, but true that, there is no tradition in England of eating in restaurants, because the food doesn't lend itself to such preparation. English cooking is found at home. So it is difficult to a good English restaurant with a reasonable prices. In most cities in Britain you'll find Indian, Chinese, French and Italian r...

Traditional Estonian food has its roots firmly in the countryside, relying heavily on pork, potatoes and garden variety vegetables. The main culinary influences were from Germans, who ruled over Estonia for so many centuries. The eating habits of the Estonian population are related to the season, which severely affect the availability of fresh food. The spring and summer are the seasons of fresh food, in this period are used vegetables, berries and herbs, with the warmer climate the Estonians also like to cook meat grilled outdoors. During the winter are used mushrooms, jams, and preserved foods. Among the typical Estonian dishes are: Baltic fish in acid sauce, pork with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes, blood sausage and barley, marinade anguilla, boiled pork in jelly, tongue, smoked fish and a kind of dry cake-like barley bread. Milk and all kinds of dairy products such as fermented milk, yogurt and various dishes made with rennet are ...
