The plot
Book starts with von Manteuffel and Spaatz. They are stealing stealing money for themselves with their military crew. Suddenly everthing gets quiet and few minutes later lots of planes flew over their heads. Next thing its war and bombs are falling from the sky. Book takes us new location .
Mr. Smith is working in a agency who want pictures of Lost city. They have found out, that there is a man who has been in Lost city, man called Hamilton. When they found him and try to convince him to take Mr. Smiths crew into Lost city, he refuses. It is dangerous to take big crew into the jungle if anyone doesn’t know the jungle. Mr. Smith wouldn’t need a guide , but the planes he sent to look for Lost city returned and didn’t know any proof of Lost city or its existence. Mr.Smith convinces Hamilton to take his crew into Lost city and offers money and supplies for the journey . After that Hamilton has a little argument with Heffner. They use plane and a hoovercraft and fly to the first location in the jungle and they spend their first night in there. In the morning when they are on their way to the Lost city, Heffner tries to kill Hamilton in helicopter. Hamilton kills Heffner but helicopter got damaged and crashes. Luckily everyone are alive . They are threathen by 2 alligators but Navarro and Ramon kill them . Suddenly a loud scream and everyone notice that Maria is being attacked by anaconda. Luckily Hamiltons bullet kills the anaconda. So Hamilton steals a boat from indians who have seen the crew and are ready to attack them. Crew gets away from there alive and they are moving along the river. They see the second indian tribe but they past this tribe wothout getting noticed. Soon they will get to the shore and hide because of the third tribe of indians. Hamilton speaks with them and show the crew that they are harmless. Hamilton knows this tribe well. Indina tribe chief lets the crew eat and rest in their camp place. In the morning the crew climbed up on the hill and there it was .. Lost city. They crossed the bridge saw a hut and run into Spaatz and von Manteuffel. Spaatz and von Manteuffel will take the crew prisoners. Hamilton and others managed to escape and Spaatz and Manteuffle were leaving too. The suddenly the Military came and arrested the criminals . Hamilton showed his mothers and fathers grave to Manteuffel. Manteuffel said that he was going to be a dead man. So military was going to take manteuffel away but he managed to get free and jumped off the cliff . Hamilton repeated his word about being a dead man. The crew found big amount of treasures. The Lost city really existed.
My opinion
It was a great book. At first book seemed boring but like author said about the book, that it is full of suprises and it was true. The end was quite interesting. It was a bit hard to read, because some pages consist of lots of new word. But if the harder word were translated , then it was easy to follow.

land and farms. Three generations of Joad's family are depicted in the book, Steinberg does not idealize them. They are illiterate, very suspicious, ignorat, quick tempered and crude- unsophistaicaded. However there are good qualities too, family comes first with them, there is wisdom, generosity, courage and persistance. Steinberg paints the portraits with ove and humour. The first generation we have Grandpa and Grandma. The founders of the family, they die at the end of the journey, their death is symbolical. Grandpa is lusty and indescent. And grandma is very religious and bios and sufferind all the time. Pa, Ma-father and mother, Pa is the official head of the family, has worked hard all his life to support his large family, but he hasn't been very succesful at it. The Ma is the real center of the family because he is both womanly and maternal and very hard working and persistent. The third generation is

He was really eager to help the police and tried to answer the questions as accurately as possible. George Bartlett was also a guest at the hotel. He was a dumb man who did not remember or pretended not to remember anything about the night when Ruby was murdered. The policemen were really annoyed with him and he was definitely a suspect. Ruby Keene was a young girl who was found dead from Mr and Mrs Bantry's home library. She had been strangled to death. Nobody nearby recognized the poor girl but police from a nearby county identified the body as a missing 18-year-old woman. She was a dancer at the Majestic Hotel and this leads the investigation there. There are many suspects-the widower of Conway Jefferson's daughter and the widow of his son because Conway wrote a will and put Ruby in it although he had known her only for about a week and she would have inherited lots of money from the sick man although the widower was in money problems.

that she had died the previous winter. He also informed the strange man that the nurse had told his wife a secret about that night to his wife before she died, and Bumble agreed to bring his wife to see the man the next night. They exchanged the address, and Mr. Bumble found out the man's name was Monks. Chapter 38: The Bumbles walked to the address that Monks gave the night before and let them in out of the rain. They were in a bad part of town in a worn down building next to the river. Mrs. Bumble negotiated with Monks and got him to give her twenty-five pounds for the information she was about to tell him. When he agreed to the sum, Mrs. Bumble told him the story of the night Sally died. In Sally's hand when she died was a pawnbroker's slip of an item she had pawned soon after she had taken it off Oliver Twist's mother's body. Mrs. Bumble had redeemed the pawned item and gave it to Monks. It was a gold locket, engraved with the name Agnes and contained a small gold band

“You can never go home again“ Lord of the flies

Kristel Sepp TIK IB 09.10.09 "You can never go home again" "Lord of the flies" The quote "You can never go home again" is related to "Lord of the flies" in both literal and metaphorical sense. Luckily most of the boys could go home in a literal sense but unfortunately some of them were dead by the time rescuers came to save them. When boys were left on the island alone the savages inside them started to appear and there were few quite good reasons for that. The experience on the island changed all of them and when they were finally rescued everyone went home as sort of different persons. In the beginning when boys had just discovered that they are alone in this paradise island they were all innocent and longed for rescue but towards the end they gradually turned into savages who painted their faces, hunted and were willing to kill each other. For example in the third chapter all boys are still civilised and enjo

around us. People are very careless. Bits of plastic debris litter the shore: bottle caps, toys, cigarette lighters, fishing line and other garbage, say nothing of plastic bags and bottles. The average plastic bag is used for only 5 minutes, yet can take up to 1,000 years to break down in the environment. Plastic water bottles, for example, take 450 years to decompose. Birds inadvertently feed on plastic floating on the water, mistaking it for food, and many times this ingestion leads to death and even the death of their young. Turtles, dolphins, and whales can choke or starve by confusing plastic bags for jellyfish. On land, plastic bags kill native birds, fauna, and other animals. Large pieces of plastic, such as bottles and packaging have well-known effects on sea life, strangling birds and fish and transporting alien species to new waters. Especially lethal is discarded fishing gear. Millions of tons of cut line, lines with hooks, and nets litter our

Agatha Christie - The Moving Finger

The Moving Finger Agatha Christie The Moving Finger Agatha Christie Plot summary: Brother and sister Jerry and Joanna Burton bought a country house in an idyllic English town called Lymstock so that Jerry could recover from injuries received in a wartime plane crash. They had been living in London their whole life and thus were excited but intimidated to go. Lymstock was much like any other English village, no more than 300 people. Those that live there enjoy the peace of rural life and form a union to where it can be difficult for strangers to blend in. Fortunately, it wasn't much of a problem for Jerry and Joanna. They were just getting to know the town's strange members and their characters when an anonymous letter arrived, accusing the tw
