Drugs and how they affect your health.

Medicines are legal drugs, meaning doctors are allowed to prescribe them for patients, stores can sell them, and people are allowed to buy them. But it's not legal, or safe, for people to use these medicines any way they want. Cigarettes and Alcohol Cigarettes and alcohol are two other kinds of legal drugs. (In Estonia, adults 18 can buy cigarettes and alcohol.) But smoking and excessive drinking are not healthy for adults and off limits for kids. Nicotine is the drug in tobacco leaves. Whether someone smokes, chews, or sniffs tobacco, he or she is delivering nicotine to the brain. Each cigarette contains about 10 milligrams of nicotine. Nicotine is what keeps people smoking despite its harmful effects. Because the smoker inhales only some of the smoke from a cigarette and not all of each puff is absorbed in the lungs, a smoker gets about 1 to 2 milligrams of the drug from each cigarette. A drop of

the cigarettes. As the new generation is growing up, the so-called "smoking-cult" is a normal matter and that enormous number of smokers is only increasing. But as a matter of fact smoking is just a bad habit and very dangerous for your health. So can we call cigarettes our friends? Most countries in the world have a legal smoking age of 18. That means that when you are not and adult you should not smoke or consume any products related to tobacco and cigarettes. But if to look into our street picture, there are seen so many under age smokers that it is really threatening. It all starts from the home how you have been raised, how strict were the rules a child had to follow and how much did your parents trust you. If a child as influential friends who influences him/her the same way, then there we are plus one smoker to that 1.2 billions. Consignments of item(s) not exceeding a total intrinsic value of 22 may be imported without payment of VAT. The practical effect of the different monetary limits is that consignments where the intrinsic value is between 22.01 and 150 will qualify for relief from Customs Duty but VAT will still be chargeable. However, it should be noted in particular that there is no relief (from Customs Duty, VAT or excise duty) under this negligible value provision for importations of tobacco products, alcohol products, perfumes or toilet waters irrespective of their value. While this exemption is not confined to private importations, care should be taken to ensure that relief is not granted in respect of single parcels which form part of a larger consignment exceeding the monetary limits. 5. Smoking should be banned in public places

Smoking should be banned in public places I think that everybody have his own opinion for smoking. The probleem is that we do not always realise when it disturbing others. First of all, I agree with the statement that smoking should be banned in public places. I think this will disturb every one who is not smoker, when someone smoking next to you when you enjoy your lunch. In my opinion, this is good idea for building smoking rooms, then we do not discriminate smokers who have tobacco addicts. On the other hand, there are many disadvantages of banning smoking in public places. Many people like smoke cigar, when they are drinking whisky, so they can not continue the tradition. Although some bars deny smoking inside and client have to do it outside. In conclusion, I would say that a large proportion of people are smokers and we have to consider with them. I just wish that they will quit smoking because this is very bad for their healths and it can cause cancer.

Raport on teenage crime

Why? There are many ways to minimise teenage crime. Possible solutions 1. We have to enlarge collaboration with teenages. 2. More hobbies for them like sport or music 3. catch them in to joint action 4. more different interesting opportunities 5. Practice different social skills with him/her, such as greeting others, "breaking the ice," asking questions, and listening well. You also can role-play ways to resist peer pressure, such as offers of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs from other kids. 6. minimise narcotic drug and weapons accessibility 7. Fight against narcotic drugs. The fight against drugs is very important not only for preventing drug offences but for reducing crime as such. Conclusion I believe crime will only get better if the community, and our society, gets stronger. Today's young people need adult's interaction without this we can't prepare them for the transition from childhood to adulthood. 202 words

and alcohol There are many legal but dangerous products like cigarettes and alcohol that get a lot of advertising. You can see those advertisements almost everywhere, from streets to television. Should they be banned? Are they useful? Most of these ads are meant for people who don't smoke or drink alcohol and since most of the adults already do one or both of them, they are mainly made for children. It's not like the tobacco or alcohol companies would agree with me on that, but this is how I see it. That makes me agree with the ban, to keep children away from bad habits. People who already smoke or drink mostly don't care about the advertisements and are not affected by them. It can clearly be seen that such adverts are only useful for the companies who gain money from new "addicts". Since new smokers increase pollution and make streets

Lets start from smoking and drinking alcohol. Alcohol and tobaco shorten our lifetime crasually. Tobacco smoke is bad for our lung and alcohol is bad for our liver. Thats why all unhealthy products have a warning sign , tu make people more sane. Young people enjoy sports, because sport helps us keep a sane mind and a good and healthy look. That way teens would be aware of the health problems such as many different cancers, heart diseases, asthma and strokes caused by cigarettes. Youths should also see the visuals how smoking ages skin and yellows teeth. Also a similar meetings for parents and students should be organised. After this parents might be more intrested in and responsible for their child' s health. Teens would care about their health more if they knew about the consequences of tobacco. Raising awareness is a good solution to reduce underage smoking. Another suggestion would be to ban adverts that supports smoking. We could for example, ban magazine advartisements. It would be a good idea because teens read magazines very often and they see the pictures in them. Many famous or rich people are seen smoking in advartisements, there are flashy pictures of them with cigarettes in their hands or hanging out of their mouths. If we don't

Children who live in a home where there's a smoker or come in contact with cigarette smoke very often are more likely than average to become smokers themselves when older. They are at increased risk of developing cancer as adults. And they also do worse at reading and reasoning skills compared with children in smoke-free homes, even at low levels of smoke exposure. Smoking also has short term consequences like your breath, clothes, hair, skin, and home smell of tobacco. You do not notice the smell if you smoke, but to non-smokers the smell is obvious and unpleasant. Your sense of taste and smell are dulled. Enjoyment of food may be reduced. Smoking is a serious problem, about 100,000 people in the UK die each year due to smoking. It is very hard to quit smoking but luckily there are things like nicotine patches and gums to help you during the process. But those things won't help you if you lack of two most important things - willpower and determination.

But by 1609 the Powhatans' relationship with the newcomers had soured, and soon war broke out. Finally, in 1613, Pocahontas was kidnapped by the English and held at Jamestown. While captive, Pocahontas studied English and converted to Christianity. Then, in 1614, she wed John Rolfe, one of the first tobacco farmers, and the union brought a modicum of peace to tidewater Virginia. Known as Lady Rebecca Rolfe, Pocahontas traveled with her husband and infant son, Thomas, to England, where she was received as foreign royalty, an Indian Princess. On March 17th, 1617, she died from an infection in Gravesend, England at the age of twenty-two. Immediately, the tenuous peace between the Powhatan and the English crumbled and the brutality rose on both sides. Northwest Ordinance of 1787

Uurimustöö: Gümnaasiumi noorte suhe narkootikumidega

The work was carried out by an online survey questionnaire and the compilation of students' answers to analyse the students' opinions and habits of drug use. Only the students of Jõhvi Gymnasium were within the scope of the survey, we got a total of 58 respondents. Throughout the work, we revealed that our estimated problem of drug abuse in Jõhvi Gymnasium didn't meet our limits. The problem was that over 70% of the respondents consumed or have consumed legal drugs such as tobacco and alcohol, and over 50% of these respondents were minors, it can be inferred that high school students' way of life is quite unhealthy. Use of illegal drugs among young people was less than 50% and thus a reasonable result. Two of the most common illegal substances used were, Cannabis and Ecstasy, a little bit less frequent yet mentioned are amphetamine and sedatives/hypnotics. 15

The most powerful Tudor monarchs were Henry VII (he had 6 wives and great ambitions, he broke away from the Roman Catholic Church), Elizabeth I (her reign was a long and golden one, characterised by intellectual brilliance, flourishing literature and commercial prosperity). The famous explorers were Sir Francis Drake (one of the leaders of the English navy) and Walter Raleigh (he made several journeys to America, wrote books about them, brought potatoes and tobacco to Britain). The House of Stuarts (1603-1714): Guy Fawkes Night dates back to 5 November 1605, when the English Catholics attempted to blow up the King and the Parliament. They failed. The conflict between the Parliament and the kings over power increased and led the country into the Civil War (1642-1651). In the end, Charles I was defeated and executed and Cromwell took up rule of the country, which became a republic. After Cromwell's death, the Stuarts returned to the throne.

largest cruise destination at the Baltic Sea (after Copenhagen and St Petersburg), welcoming more than 200 thousand travellers from different parts of the world (USA, Great Britain, etc). Joining the European Union considerably increased the number of foreign visits in summer 2004, reputedly by 20-25% or even more. The share of diminishing shopping tourists started growing once again as the abolishment of restrictions enabled the Finns to take home more alcohol and tobacco. The number of tourists from more distant countries of the European Union, however, has increased most because of the much easier border crossing and an interest in the new member states. Weekend travellers arrive mostly from Finland but also from Sweden, Russia and Latvia. Visitors arriving by sea usually limit their visit to Tallinn and the areas nearby. People who have come for a longer period travel around the country, visiting the islands, south-east Estonia, nature parks and reserves,

everyday metabolism and causes us no harm. It can also be found in the air that we breathe at home and at work, in the food we eat, and in some products that we put on our skin. A major source of formaldehyde that we breathe every day is found in smog in the lower atmosphere. Automobile exhaust from cars without catalytic converters or those using oxygenated gasoline also contain formaldehyde. At home, formaldehyde is produced by cigarettes and other tobacco products, gas cookers, and open fireplaces. It is also used as a preservative in some foods, such as some types of Italian cheeses, dried foods, and fish. Formaldehyde is found in many products used every day around the house, such as antiseptics, medicines, cosmetics, dish-washing liquids, fabric softeners, shoe-care agents, carpet cleaners, glues and adhesives, lacquers, paper, plastics, and some types of wood products

growth rates even exceeding 10% annually. Despite some concerns both in and outside of the country, the Estonian economy and its currency remained highly resilient and solvent. Until recent years the Estonian economy continued to grow with admirable rates. Estonian GDP grew by 6.4% in the year 2000 and with double speeds after accession to the EU in 2004. The GDP grew by 7.9% in 2007 alone. Increases in labor costs, rise of taxation on tobacco, alcohol, electricity, fuel, and gas, and also external pressures (growing prices of oil and food on the global market) are expected to raise inflation just above the 10% mark in the first months of 2009. In the first quarter 2008 GDP grew only 0,1%. The government made a supplementary negative budget, which was passed by Riigikogu. The revenue of the budget was decreased for 2008 by EEK 6.1 billion and the expenditure by EEK 3.2 billion.
