Skateboarding is an  action sport  which involves riding and performing tricks using a skateboard. Skateboarding can also be considered a recreational activity , an art form, a job, or a method of transportation.[1] Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years . A 2002 report found that there were 18.5 million skateboarders in the world. Skateboarding is relatively modern. Since the 1970s, skateparks have been constructed specifically for use by skateboarders, bikers and inline skaters
History
Skateboarding was first started in the 1950s, when all across California surfers got the idea of trying to surf the streets. No one really knows who made the first board -- instead, it seems that several people came up with similar ideas at the same time.
These first skateboarders started with wooden boxes or boards with roller skate wheels slapped on the bottom . Like you might imagine, a lot of people got hurt in skateboarding's early years!. The boxes turned into planks, and eventually companies were producing decks of pressed layers of wood -- similar to the skateboard decks of today .
In 1963, skateboarding was at a peak of popularity , and companies like Jack's, Hobie and Makaha started holding skateboarding competitions.. Torger Johnson Woody Woodward and Danny Berer were some well known skateboarders at this time, but what they did looked almost completely different from what skateboarding looks like today! Their style of skateboarding, called "freestyle", is more like dancing ballet or ice skating with a skateboard.
Then, in 1965, skateboarding's popularity suddenly crashed. Most people assumed that skateboarding was a fad that had died out, like the hoola hoop. Skateboard companies folded, and people who wanted to skate had to make their own skateboards again from scratch.
But people still skated, even though parts were hard to find and boards were home made. Skaters were using clay wheels for their boards, which was extremely dangerous and hard to control. But then in 1972Frankcompany was called Cadillac Wheels, and the invention sparked new interest in skateboarding among surfers and other young people.
In the spring of 1975, skateboarding took an evolutionary boost toward the sport that we see today.

Tony Hawk Tony Hawk was born in San Diego, California (1968). Tony was the youngest of 4 children; he has one brother, Steve, and two sisters, Lenore and Patricia. In his autobiography, Tony described himself as a "hyperactive demon child". Tony Hawk was nine years old when his brother changed his life by giving him a blue fiberglass banana board. His father built a skating ramp in the backyard, in hopes that skateboarding would be an outlet for young Tony's energy. Tony Hawk is now a professional skateboarder. He is considered the most successful person of modern vertical skateboarding. Tony is credited with the invention of many aerial skateboard tricks including the Stalefish, Madonna, McHawk and over 80 other tricks. But he is most famous for being the first to land the 900 (two and a half rotations--900°--in the air before landing back on the pipe)

Time: 1618th January Place: Saku Suurhall, Tallinn Estonia Simpel Session has been around for seven years and has grown to a major contest and meeting point both in the world of skateboarding and BMX. But although rocking a crazy lineup of riders from around the globe, awesome skatepark layout and cuttingedge media broadcasts, it's still just one huge party where riders come to hang out with their friends and enjoy the laidback vibe. As one goes we'll be down with two events skateboarding street and BMX street. We're very happy to have two of these sports combined in Simpel Session as they feed from each other and make the contest stand out from todays trends. Our recent skatepark setups were real favourites among skaters and bikers alike this is something we're really stoked on and continue to experiment with. Unconventional course enriches both sports and pushes them in new directions.

she draws beautiful pictures of nature and animals. Every evening she spends almost 10- 15 minutes to make her manicure. And she doesn't like to play computer games. My dad's hobbies are computers (for they're his job), driving with a jet and techincs. When he returns home from work he goes straight to the computer. Most of the summer we are in Valkla, where we drive with a jet. He doen'st like to rollerskate/skating , because that takes a lot of energy. My brother has two hobbies: football and skateboarding. He has his football training three times a week and he has been going there already 3 years. He collects football cards and his favourite player is ... . My brother has many posters and pictures of him. Skateboarding is one of his newest hobbies. He 'discovered' it last summer when we saw a boy doing tricks with his skateboard. So our parents gave him a skateboard for Christmas. He was really happy for that/ He was delighted. He doesn't like handicraft, which he thinks is boring.
