Belling The Cat (Inglisekeelne luuletus koos tõlkega)

BELLING THE CAT The Mice once called a meeting to decide on a plan to free themselves of their enemy, the Cat. At least they wished to find some way of knowing when she was coming, so they might have time to run away. Indeed, something had to be done, for they lived in such constant fear of her claws that they hardly dared stir from their dens by night or day. Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said: "I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know

but she couldn't even deceive herself enough to get her mind off from her loneliness and helplessness. Suddenly, and it all seemed to happen at the same time, the music stopped and the clock struck twelve. As Ella had been dreading the room became silent for a minute. She couldn't force herself to move. All her worst nightmares were becoming real. She started hearing all kinds of voices from the attic. All at once the barking dogs went mad; she heard a crazed laughter coming from the attic and a thump. That was the last thing Ella remembered when she woke up- she had fainted and now when she looked at the timepiece she noticed it was five o'clock. It was still dark outside and the house was silent. There was a noise she couldn't identify coming from the garden and then some footsteps and a weak knock on the door. For a second Ella couldn't decide whether she was dreaming or not and if she should react to the knock. She then, very slowly got up and went to the door

Easter

Easter Easter is a moveable feast. It is so, because the date of Easter changes every year. Easter Sunday can fall on any date from 22 March to 25 April, but it always falls on the first Sunday following the full Moon after 21 March. Easter is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival, the celebration of the death and coming to life again of Jesus Christ. For Christians, the dawn of Easter Sunday with its message of new life is the high point of the Christian year. There are three important days: · Maundy Thursday eg Holy Thursday the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles · Good Friday the day on which Jesus was crucified · Easter Day the day on which Jesus came back to life In many European languages the name Easter comes from the word Passover.

Working at home or in an office - essee

you can wake up when you want, and finish work when you see fit. This allows you to spend more time with friends and family. Working at home helps to save money. You do not have to spend money on transportation every day and also for lunch. You can have home coocked meal which is always cheaper then eating out. On the other hand working at home can make you very lazy. Also at home you do not have enogh motivation to work, especially when there is something good coming on television. All in all i think that working at home is much better than working in an office because it has more advantages than disadvantages.

There were extremely quiet in that morning. It was Friday, but still... He stopped in front of the school and were still wondering that there were nobody moving around. He opened the door and stepped in. Finally, he heard some noise, but he couldn't understand the meaning. That was coming behind the corner, where Bill had just stepped. He saw a policeman lying and there were blood everywhere. He touched the man and didn't know what to do. Bill decided to run away. Cause he was incautious he fell and hit his head. After waking up and thinking a little bit he saw a sign, which said: ,,Refused to work and disturbe in field-day!" That said everything. His headache wasn't so tender too. Witness Report As I was walking along Western Road about 11.00 on Saturday morning I saw a red car pull up in front of me and two men jumped out and ran into Woolworths. I didn't really pay any attention until I heard screams coming from inside the shop. When I got closer I saw one man holding a gun while the other emptied the cash register. I couldn't see them very well, but one was fairly tall with brown hair and sunglasses and the other was shorter with very short blond hair. They were both wearing jeans and were about 22 years old, so they could have been students. There was another man in the car who had been waiting with the engine running, but I couldn't see what he looked like. I

Dear Ms

after all, you don't get to see such an exhibition like "the next 100 years" every day. Therefore, if you are interested in our visit, I have some questions about the booking. Where can we make a reservation for our group? Do we need to come to the museum to do it or is it possible to do the booking through your website? How big can the visiting group be? We have 27 students who are interested in visiting the museum; is that too many or just fine? Since we will probably be coming for the whole day, we need to feed all the students. Do you have a café nearby or do we need to take the food ourselves? I look forward to hearing from you. Your faithfully John Walker 10.12.15

Irish Christmas

Boys go from door to door with a fake wren on a stick, singing, with violins, accordions, harmonicas and horns to accompany them. The reason for the ceremony is to ask for money 'for the starving wren', that is, for their own pockets. Children often put out Christmas sacks instead of stockings. It is tradition to leave mince pies and a bottle of Guinness out as a snack for Santa. "Nollaig Shona Dhuit" (NoLik Suna Ditch) means "Merry Christmas" in Irish Gaelic. "Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat. Please put a penny in the old man's hat. If you haven't got a penny, a ha'penny will do. If you haven't got a ha'penny, God bless you!" Cleaning for Christmas: The time leading up to Christmas is busy in Ireland. Women clean the inside, polish the floors, the silver, the furniture, every nook and cranny is "made presentable." The men clean and whitewash outbuildings and yard entrances, passageways, and surroundings. The children are especially good, because in Ireland.

Aadvantages and disadvantages of being famous?

But actually there are some major disadvantages of being famous, too. The biggest advantage of being famous is definitely financial. You often are well paid for just showing your face in some commercial. Also it seems like all the doors in the world are opened for you. You have so many different opportunities thanks to that and your life is never dull. And lastly everybody loves to have admirers. But where are the admirers, there is always a lot of criticism coming your way. You have to be really solid as a rock to cope with that. Also you have to have a lot of energy as your daily schedule is usually very busy and you can not rest when ever you want. And what comes to the fans, then there are always some of those who cross the line and become quite annoying. All in all it seems that being famous is a big advantage when you have some special quality. Otherwise I suggest not becoming famous, it will not be good for your health.

The Helston Floral Dance is one of the oldest surviving customs in the Country, and is a festival to celebrate the coming of spring. They did not pay much attention to it because they thought it was just wind. Great Coastal Gate & Fat Margaret’s Tower

Great Coastal Gate & Fat Margaret's Tower Good morning ladies and gentlemens, and welcome to Great Coastal Gate and Fat Margaret's Tower. Before we begin the tour, I`d like to tell you a little about their history. The Great Coastal Gate (Suur Rannavärav) was the most important gate in Tallinn. It was built as a defence on the seaward side of Tallinn, but also to impress visitors coming in from the sea. In the Middle Ages the Great Coastal Gate was about 300 footsteps from the harbour. Legends say, that during storms, the waves reached the gate. . In the 16th century, a powerful cannon tower was built next to the Great Coastal Gate. It had 155 loopholes, diameter of 25 meters, and a height of about 20 meters. The tower was named Roosikrantsi, but as it was the stoutest tower in the Wall, people started to call it "Fat Margaret"

Eating fast food

Eating fast food In today's age of comfort and convenience, fast food needs no introduction. Everyone from a 2 year old toddler to a 60 year old grandpa seems to be enjoying it every time they get. And why not? It's delicious, it's filling, is really affordable, and available just any time of the day, being only a phone call away. What more can you ask for when you are living life in the fast lane? Well, plenty fast food is all good tasting, except that it is not nutritionally balanced and, therefore, unhealthy in the long run if consumed on a regular basis. Fast food is loaded with calories from refined sugar and fats .It is also very high in sodium, coming from common salt and other additives. On top of all this, fast food is deficient in dietary fiber and essential micro-nutrients like vitamins and minerals. To make matters worse, heaps of fast food are normally guzzled down with gal...

Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the most famous footballers in the world and sadly i haven’t been fortunate enough to meet him. I think the first time i heard his name was when i was about 11 years old and since that time, i have kept an eye on his actions. Ronaldo is quite tall and a muscular athlete. He has got a long face, light brown eyes and dark brown hair. He also has quite big nose. Basically every time i see him in some news article or on the pitch, he has a different hairstyle. He mostly wears designer clothes. I think he looks fabulous. Ronaldo is said to be a stimulating person who can brighten social gatherings with his fresh and original ideas. He is also kind and humble because he takes part in many charity events and donates to peaople who are in need. Ronaldo in his free time likes to play tennis, swim and just hang out with his family. He also likes to listen to...

Leaflet - Making New Friends

Making New Friends Hey, all the students! Feeling kind of lost and lonely in the new school and city? Let's come together! Now, when the school year has started, there's a lot more of us circulating around the campus. Since there have been coming in students from other countries, I'd like to point out some good places where all young people could meet and greet. The usual locations are of course concerts, sport and any other clubs but in case you have some kind of a hobby, you should dig out where you could meet people with the same interests. Our school has always had many interesting events through the year and here are some of the near future ones:

Panga Pank (Inglise keeles)

long trip to and from Egypt, where most of them spend the winter. Sometimes there are well over a hundred storks, as well as other waterbirds, resting in the calm waters of the lagoon. Folk tradition ties Panga cliff as a place of worship and sacrifice for the ancient Saarlanders. It is known that until well into the 19th century, local fishermen poured libations of beer and whisky over the edge of the cliff, especially at midsummer eve, to ensure lots of fish during the coming year. There is a fishing spell that was chanted in Mustjala parish, and it says: "Come, come closer codfish to me. Bite my hook my dearest gray one. My hooks are silver, dipped in gold and slipped in lead."

Letter to the president

Dear Mr President , I am writing in order to invite you to our class during the ,,Back to school" week. I think that your coming to my class would be really instructive and interesting for students. It would give everyone an opportunity to ask about your school times, life as a president and your position. I am sure that find out about your professional knowledge, perks and official duties helps us to understand your profession better. However, the lesson would be in English, so students can express them thoughts and ask questions in English. It would help us to evolve our communication in the formal way and it

A small adventure

A small adventure 12 October 2016 One summer evening about two years ago in June me and two of my friends Jane and Elisabeth were in a summer camp in Karepa. The weather was delightful: it was warm and there wasn't windy, so we decided to go and watch the sunset at the beach. Sadly we weren't allowed to go outside after 11 p.m. and it was already about 11.30 p.m., but we decided to go anyway. All three of us put on our darkest clothes so no one could see us. We sneaked out of our room and ran over a big hilly field into the dark forest. Unfortunately a strict teacher saw us and started coming towards us. We freaked out and started running through the forest. Luckily the teacher gave up looking for us very easily, but to my horror we had lost each other. I decided to run through the forest to the beach. The way was really short and the forest wasn't dense either, but I was still a bit scar...

3 Energy Dividends You Can Still Trust

3 Energy Dividends You Can Still Trust This has been a bad year for energy dividends, but there are still a few out there that investors can still trust. With the price of oil recently hitting a sevenyear low and natural gas now at a 14 year low, there has been a deep impact on the cash flows at oil and gas companies. Many don't have enough money coming in to drill the required number of new wells needed to maintain their production rates, let alone any left over to pay shareholders a steady dividend. This has resulted in the reduction or suspension of a countless number of energyrelated dividends. All that said, there are a few energy dividends that investors can still trust. Here are three companies that have been making their dividend a priority. Jason Hall

Pandemic - Studying during Covid-19

But when I have the motivation and or the goal in mind then I don’t think there is a more self-disciplined person than me. Most people probably enjoy studying from home because they can wake up when they want to, wear what they want to, eat what they want to and so on. But for me it just ruins my routines and boundaries therefore I get lazy and I start to slack off. Also I don’t like bringing “work” home because for me coming home is for unwinding and resting, but if I have to study at the same place where I rest then it’ll ruin the balance . Comparing studying at home and at school, then for me I definitely prefer studying at school because a big con for me is that I can’t focus and study, I get too comfortable, there isn’t anything more that I don’t like, but it’s obviously a dealbreaker. I hope things get better and we don’t have to deal with this again.
