Women writer's influence on our society

Women writer's influence on our society Estonian women writer's history doesn't go far back. The reason for that is that people were slaves back then. Even if there were writers, then most weren't famous and they wrote poems and stories more for themselves. Also being a woman and a writer wasn't considered as a decent job for a woman at that time. The stories that we have from that time were given to one another by talking and mostly we don't know who were the authors. Education was also very expensive so only rich

The Status of Women in The World For a long time, through the history of human kind, women have fought for their rights. Issue of women rights and women status has always been discussed and there are many different points of view on this problem. In civilized community you are taught to respect human being as an equal to yourself. It just happens to be, that many eastern regions of men are not as happy as western nations, about the idea of leaving the wonderful life, in which they could tell a random female to strip and make them happy, for a life of begging for the thing they have been getting so easily.

Men and women in politics

Men and women in politics Women have become a force to be reckoned with in the world of politics. Over the past decade, women have resolved into leadership positions, encouraging the same sex to voice their opinions in voting booths, political debates, and society. Not only in America, but nationwide. Women comprise over 35 percent of the lower house in Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Demark; 15 percent or less are seen in parliaments within ten countries . Over the years, women had to protest and fight for this right so that young women today can vote and have a say so in who represents the people of our city, state, and country. A woman's influence in politics has yet to be recognized as a true political voice of women that actually yields power. Perceptions of women

Name: Chlen Zhopov Subject: Essay Are men better directors than women ? It is common that top executives in big companies are mostly men. But does that necessarily mean that women are not suitable for such responsible, effort and leadership demanding jobs? I do not think so. First of all, I would like to say that this tradition is coming not only from history, but from evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that

The role of women in Sense and Sensibility

The role of women in the story Sense and Sensibility, is the story of two sisters searching for love and all the happiness that accompanies it. The story starts with the death of Mr. Dashwood his estate, "Norland" and money passes to his only son, John. This leaves his second wife and three daughters, Elinor, Marianne, and Margaret, at the mercy of John's and his selfish wife Fanny. They treat Dashwood women as unwelcome quests, so women begin looking for another place to live. Elinor Dashwood is the sensible and reserved eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dashwood. She becomes attached to Edward Ferrars, the brother-in-law of her elder half-brother, John. Always feeling a keen sense of responsibility to her family and friends, she places their welfare and interests above her own, and suppresses her own strong emotions in a way that leads others to think she is indifferent or cold-hearted. How Are Black Women Portrayed in the Novel? The story begins in the early nineteenth century when the main protagonist Antoinette is a young girl. A white girl Antoinette is the daughter of the ex-slave owners, but it is the time when the passage of the Emancipation Act takes places. This means that black slaves are freed and led to the demise of many white slave owners. Because of this act, black men and women start to feel more powerful and superior towards the ex-slave owners. Throughtout Antoinette´s childhood, hostility is present between the weakened white aristocracy and the black servants they employ. On account of this situation, black women feel themselves more independent and strong. First of all, when the slaves are free and there is no need to work for others anymore, many servants leave their employers and turn their back on them. For example, there is a young black girl

Report

According to the latest Census, the aim of this report is to figure out how much time people spend on household chores. The following points give us a good overview how men and women do it in Estonia. This report was commissioned by the Estonian Department of Statistics. It can be seen from the chart that both men and women spend about eight hours on household chores in Estonia. Men spend most of their time on building and making repairs. Less than an hour of their time is spent on gardening and pet care. Moreover men also like cooking and laundry in spite of losing their manhood. As expected, women occupy most of their time on child care. However it is surprising that they spend nearly one fifth on building. The reason for this may be due to men having more jobs outside of the home, earning money for the family.

Gender equality in higher positions of companies

Many high-level positions in companies are filled by men even though the workforce in many developed countries is more than 50 percent female. Companies should be required to allocate a certain percentage of these positions to women. To what extent do you agree? In the 21st century it is all about gender equality and every individual wants to achieve high level position in their work place. In the past, women, in many societies, had less rights and privileges than men. The statement says that companies should give a certain number of higher positions to women. However, I do not agree with this requirement completely. Giving a certain percent of higher positions to women certainly is an easy solution but in my opinion it will bring even more sexism. It shows that women are somehow weaker, fragile and need help for everything

Chocolate addiction

Chocolate addiction Anete Samelselg 2015 What is this addiction A person who is addicted to chocolate is called chocoholic. A chocoholic is a person who craves chocolate. There is some medical evidence to support the existence of actual addiction to chocolate. However, the term is mostly used loosely or humorously to describe a person who is inordinately fond of chocolate. The chocolate addiction happens mostly with women because they eat more emotionally than men. Why do people get addicted to it The essential components of addiction are intense craving for something, loss of control over the use of it, and continued use despite negative consequences. Studies have shown that people can exhibit all three of these components in relation to food, particularly food that contains sugar or fat. Since chocolate contains both, it is often used in studies of food addiction. Why it's bad

Woman and management Historically, women were known as the fairer sex. Usually, they had to be at home and take care of children. If their family had the means, they normally received a basic education in the arts, etiquette, manners and aspects of running a household. Women did not have any opportunity to say a word in any kind of business. They were only in a subordinate position. As the saying goes- behind every great man there is a great woman. I think that it was pretty fair that women were only at home in action with children at this time, because business were not so developed as the whole society. Good sence of authority, ability to take risks and decisiveness which are akin to men´s characteristics were good to lay the foundation for business

Estonia traditional costumes

In Estonia traditional costume denotes mainly the festive peasant dress of the 19th century, which in its time referred besides social status also to national background, as the ruling class were mainly German at the time. The former peasant costume of regional variation has become today a national symbol and has turned due to its altered function into a national dress. Estonian country folk produced their clothing mainly from home-spun woollen or linen fabric: shirts and married women's head-wear was mostly made from linen, while various outer garments, gloves, stockings and socks, were made from wool. The majority of the clothes remained undyed for a long time: linen garments were bleached white, while woollen outer garments were mainly sheep-brown or black. The wool for making skirts was dyed with herbal dyes. The bedstraw root was particularly widely used to produce red colouring. Indigo was the first dye to be widely bought during the 18th century.

Level of education The aim of the report is to analyze the level of education of men and women in Estonia at the turn of the century. A secondary education is by far the most popular level of education. This shows that it is a centric way to cover ground in life. A significant number of men have basic education. This implies that most men prefer not to pursue education. In case of women, they want to get a better education. This is demonstrated by the fact that only 18 % of women have basic education. A large proportion of women have chosen secondary vocational. This indicates that is chosen an occupation, which suggest a fixed income. A higher level of education is not certainly necessary. This is illustrated by the fact that about 6 % of people have elementary education. A small number of men and women have no schooling. This suggests that some people do not have opportunity to get an education. A substantial number of people have a university degree

shy and beautiful Jane falls in love with Mr. Bingley. Lizzie finds Mr. Darcy an arrogant and proud man, and she swears to loathe him forever. This is the beginning of their wonderful love story. My opinion: I found the book quite interesting, not as good as I had expected or hoped, but still something different from the usual books I read. It is a classical love story, how a man and a woman at first loath each other and later on fall in love. But it can be said that it is a quite women- dominating story, as it shows women having power, although little, but still- and how it was uncommon those days to praise women in literature. Women are desperate to find a man to marry, especially a rich man, then they submit to their husbands, if not they are off to find a new one. Most of the action happens at balls. It is depicted as dances were the center of social world. Dancing seemed to be the only way how women could meet men, which is very unreasonable

For example: trekking in high altitude demands motivation, good level of fitness and thorough preparation. For a long time, female adventure tourists were seen as a rare type of tourists. Lately, this stereotype is starting to change thanks to a more understanding and flexible society (culture) attitude towards adventure tourism and the growing female interest in tourism. This is illustrated by travel operators, like Explore having around 60% female customers (Mintel, 2010). Nowadays, women seek more thrill and self-fulfilment from their leisure time. They want to have more personal challenge to overcome fear and increase confidence, but also to experience a natural environment (Myers, 2010). Interestingly, many women are willing to go to an adventure holiday alone: they account for 60% of small group or solo adventure (Mintel, 2010). Marriage is/is not an outdated institution

Dear audience, I am here to discuss about marriage. I would like you to ask yourself: ,,Is marriage an outdated institution?" I would say that it is, but I would prefer a word ,,special". Marriage is a rare sight, you don´t see the whole package every day: bachelor party, wedding ceremony, big fluffy white dress, bridesmaids, wedding march ,,Here comes the bride" and afterwards big celebration party. But why is marriage such a rare occasion? Firstly, women are more independant. It is not the time where women sit at home doing housework, cooking or taking care of the children anymore. Nowadays most of the women have gone out from home to build a career and discover the world. There are a lot of women who are famous or on top of their career. For example Birgit Õigemeel, who doesn´t know her, she is not married, but she is really successful in her singing career . This takes all their time. They have to concentrate on their work 24/7

When in Rome do as Romans do

When in Rome do as Romans do Australia is located in the South-East of the world and there is very warm, now there is approximately 30°C. Australia has a population of almost 20 million people and they speak in English. Half of the people there are christians. One of the only things I knew about australia are that there is very warm and there are a lot of kangaroos. In Australia the appearance of people is very formal. Men wear dark business suit and a tie, women may wear a dress or a scirt and blouse. For casual clothing there are pants for both men and women. Australians are friendly and open, but directness and punctuality is very important. They maintain good eye contact during conversations. They bring small gift of chocolate, wine or flowers if invited to someone's home, but gift giving is not very common in bussiness. They avoid littering and when approaching a queue, they go to the end and wait their turn.

policy began to change. In 1907, the Anglo-Russian Entente was agreed, which attempted to resolve a series of long-running disputes over Persia, Afghanistan and Tibet, as well as helping to address British fears about German expansion in the Near East. And so the "splendid isolation" ended. Impact of WWI Variously throughout the war, serious shortage of able-bodied men ("manpower") occurred in the country, and women were required to take on many of the traditional male roles, particularly in the area of arms manufacture; though this was only significant in the later years of the war, since unemployed men were often prioritised by employers. But when men went to war, then women took over their jobs. The war also caused a split in the British suffragette movement, calling a 'ceasefire' in their campaign for the duration of the war. In contrast, more radical suffragettes, like the Women's

Should a man be a househusband

Should a man be a househusband? Should a man be a househusband? It is a pretty popular subject nowadays. The phenomenon of strong women is more and more urgent, whereas more and more men stay at home as househusbands. This phenomenon causes many people to wonder whether this is a positive change. If this is true, can it be done without having a negative effect on the family? In my opinion, a man should earn money for his family, but taking care of the house and kids should be women's chores, because every child needs mother's care and attention. Otherwise lack of it may be seen in the future and father cannot replace mother.

· Women are stronger than men, because they can walk in a 12 cm stilettos without showing the pain. · Men would kill to protect women they love. Men were born because of women. Women.. We're special · It doesn't matter where, when, or how did we met. What matters is the fact that we did. · Loving someone so much doesn't always mean they're right one for us. · Wishes are for lazy people who can't get up and make their dreams come true on their own. How it is done, is also shown (although I must admit that my current education did not allow me to understand all the details of the methods used) and a lot of research poured into finding out what it is that random people find "sounding gay" or "sounding heterosexual". The articles have a nine year gap, and the newer, written 2015 also mentions Munson et al's research several times. One of the main differences between the researches is that while Munson et al included bisexual men and women, and also Lesbians, Erik.C. Tracy worked solely with the topic of gay men. Both, however, did their research on American English. As to the conclusions: * Yes, listeners can distinguish between LGB and heterosexual men and women. * Listeners rely more on vowels than consonants, and of those, only few. * The /s/ is the most important consonant when making a judgment. Is Amelia Earhart a good role model for young people?

Firstly, she was a very courageous. She was always ready to take a risk. She was active young woman. I think that in nowdays young people should follow her steps and be more valorous. Secondly, in life you have to be very confident. Life is complicated and you never now what it brings to you. Amelia Earhart was many times in complicated situations and she knew all the time what to do. She stick to her speculations. To conclude, I think that Amelia Earhart is a good role model for young women because she was very brave and confident. In nowdays, women should do the same.

Jane Eyre

committed suicide and he himself was left blind because of the fire. Jane pays him a visit and can't find it in her heart to leave Mr.Rochester to die alone. They live happily together, have children and in the end Mr.Rochester regains his sight. In my opinion the reason why Jane, and everyone else in the book, were so attracted to Mr.Rochester was because of his mysterious and deep appearance. Jane must have felt really special that she cought his eye out of all the women. That despite all the bitterness she was the only chosen one that could mend his broken heart and offer him happiness. She'd help him change his old ways and together they would live happy ever after. The same phenomenon often repeats itself in other books and even in life. It might even be a motherly instinct for women to try to rescue a troubled handsome male. Whatever the reason might be the deep and handsome characters attract women not only in books but also in the real world.

Kontserdiarvustus

Kontserdiarvustus Kuna olen olnud Tanel Padar and The Sun'i pikaajaline austaja, siis otsustasin seada sammud 5.detsembril Tallinna kultuurikatlasse. Kontsert oli ühteaegu mõeldud rockbändi Tanel Padar and The Sun uue plaadi ,,Unisex" esmaesitluseks.
