My interest in chemical technology

18.09.2012 Mari-Liis Eha 120876KAKB My interest in chemical engineering I studied for 3 years in an english-science biased class in secondary school. My favourite subjects were chemistry and biology. We had many field trips. For instance, we had field trip to Kohtla-Järve to see the oil shale industry and also tours to see the wind generators. This is where my attraction to environment and chemistry grew together and I wanted to know more about further job and education opportunities in this field.

Recommendation report about Haapsalu

To: Ms Maire Liidlein From: Kerli Neljas Date: 16th December Subject: Recommendation report about Haapsalu Introduction Haapsalu is a small, friendly and romantic town is a real summer paradise and in summer a lot of holidaymakers visit this. They come for the warm seawater, curative mud, peacefulness. A lot of people visit the resort every summer, there are many different ways to spent time there, both for tourists and locals. Old Town of Haapsalu and museums People who are interested in culture and history can visit the Old Town and museums. For example the Estonian Railway Museum, the Episcopal Castle Museum, the Läänemaa Museum and others. I think that the city itself is one of the greatest historical places. Nobody can talk about the history of Haapsalu better than the city itself. And visiting museums is a good for acquiring new knowledge, but those people who do not love history, may get bored. And all museums are located relativ...

Assignment Module 3 - BEPS project Action 4

08.2016 Peer Assignment in Module 3 The OECD with its Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project is working towards proposing politically feasible and multilaterally acceptable ways to minimize the corporate tax base erosion and profit shifting activities since 2013. Out of its 15 main lines of work under BEPS project (called Actions) I will concentrate on Action 4 which aims at proposing new rules for preventing the manipulation of interest expense related tax deductions of corporates. The underlying problem is that multinational groups can easily create and relocate debt in their group according to the most preferential tax treatment available which in some cases results in no or even negative corporate tax payments from those companies. For BEPS project to be transparent and inclusive, a broad-based public involvement has been carried out by the OECD. The discussion draft to prepare the final report

Loan offer essay

Xxxxx xxxxx RxxKÕ U. 10 Dear Mr. Wall, I am writing in regards to the loan papers you asked me to review. I recommend that you don`t take this loan offer. Let me explain why. First, the interest rate is very high, although the interest is tax deductible. I belive that other banks could offer lower interest rate. Second, the origination fee is not also so reasonable and there are penalties if you want to pay off earlier your loan. I see also that this is leverage, it meens that you must have a collateral for the loan. And I know that you have only your forest land for that, but I think it is not very good idea to use the land for that, because if you default, the lender will have a senior claim on your land.

An analysis of the problem of Political Power - essee

(benefits I did not ask). (McLaughlin, 2010) Mostly we think that only democracy can be totally acceptable. But what is democracy? Is it really so drawing power? (Wolff, 1996) Some say that democracy is the rule of the people, by the people, for the people. But does democracy really deserve the reputation that it has? (Wolff, 1996) The word of (citicens) means that democracy is internal. The word by means that in is collective (selfgovernment). The word for means that there should be public interest about political power. Three theories Firstly, Plato Statesman: He divides forms of government into good-ones (rule of law) and bad-ones (lawless rule). So, when one person rules de jure it is called Monarchy, but if he or she rules illegally, it is called Tyranny. When a few people rules de jure it is called Aristocracy and when they do not have the legal right to rule, it is called Oligarchy. If many people rule de jure it is called Good- or The Real - Democracy, but if

Introduction to macroeconomics

" Macroeconomics examines the economy as a whole and answers questions · 'What causes the economy to grow over time?', · 'What causes short-run fluctuations in the economy?` · 'What influences the values various economic indicators and how do those indicators affect economic performance? An understanding of microeconomics is crucial to understand macroeconomics. · To understand why a change in interest rates leads to changes in real GDP, · Need to understand how lower interest rates influence decisions, · The decision of how much to save, at the firm or household level; · To understand how an individual, on average, will change their behavior we will then understand the large scale relationships in an economy. WHAT IS A LOAN AGREEMENT?

Where money is loaned to a business, the lender will want to have the borrower sign a loan agreement that explains essential issues regarding the loan. transportation is a normal good? In that case, public transportation is an inferior good (if change in income is positive, then change in demanded quantity of good is negative), because income rises by 12% nad demand drops by 6%, therefore m is positive and q is negative. Online music magazines

This suggests that programmes such as Wilder Opportunities have had an effect on the breadth of music-making in the UK. However the aricle suggests that there are still barriers like financial opportunities – the cost of instruments and lessons, then of course the lack of parental support and students not being interested. Of children that had never played an instrument, both the cost of learning and the opportunity to do so were given as reasons than the lack of interest in learning suggests that barriers to even a first experianse remain impossible to some. The Making Music report talks further about where there are more children interested. The Chairman of Sistema England Julian Lloyd Webber said: ‘Sadly, the report shows that music is still most likely to be pushed aside in the poorer inner-city schools ‒ exactly where it could be most beneficial. This continues to foster the misguided belief that classical music is a white, middle-class

James Watt

James Watt James Watt was born in Greenock on January 19 in 1736, the son of a ship's chandler. He worked in his father's shop and he developed an interest in trying to make things "work like clockwork". In his late teens he went to London to learn to be a "mathematical and philosophical instrument maker", and when he returned to Glasgow he got a job making instruments with Glasgow University, who gave him a place where to live and a workshop. In 1763 John Andreson asked him to repair an early steam engine he had bought. This early model, known as a Newcomen engine, was very unefective

Modern Hero

interest (usually a she). Generally she is a beautiful fit woman to whom the hero falls in love with, sometimes at first sight (for example Batman). During the beginning of their relationship or the time when they learn to know each other the woman is kidnapped and held hostage and the plot of the story is usually about saving her. The happy ending also includes a final kiss and thought that they'll grow old together. The interesting thing is that the love interest and the hero don't have to get along at the beginning but they'll learn to like each other. There are more heroes than we could ever count. The old ones differ from the modern ones and even though every one of them is unique and special they all carry the same title- hero. It unites them and gives them all the meaning of hope. It doesn't really matter whether an old hero or a modern hero- in the end they all do good.

American Literature Character Sketch-The Great Gatsby-Daisy

It was Nick, her cousin, who saw her for what she really was-a careless woman, who didn’t consider to think twice about her actions and the mess she made nor who had to clean it up. She is unable to deal with the consequences of her actions. She can also be described childish and indecisive. I did love him once, but I loved you too. She had difficulties choosing between the two men who both wanted her. She married Tom without thinking it through which only shows her main interest and goal in that was money and wealth not the man himself. In first glance, Daisy is a very sweet and charming person, but once I got to know her better throughout the book, it wasn’t so. She wasn’t the woman Gatsby thought she was, she was all about money and only cared what money could get her. Even though she claimed to love both men (Tom and Jay), I think what she loved the most was the lifestyle the men provided her. At the end of the book Daisy moved away with Tom

The 2004 YARs were therefore incorporated in relatively few contracts of carriage. The YAR 2016 largely reflect the YAR 1994, which BIMCO has to date recommended as the basis for general average adjustments, while containing some useful clarifications and additions such as on low value cargoes. Importantly, it has been agreed that an annual interest rate of LIBOR plus 4 percentage points applies according to the new rules, while the commission of 2 per cent on owners' disbursements has been abolished. The 1994 version of the YAR has previously remained prominent despite a more recent 2004 revision. The 2004 version was considered less favourable to shipowners and BIMCO has twice reviewed and decided in favour of using the 1994 version, until now.

Newspapers in Britain

In britain, the newspaper industry, often called Fleet Street, has a mojar influance on public opinion and is a strong force in political life. Britain's press is unusual in that it is divided into two very different types of newspaper: the quality press and the popular press. The term quality press is used to describe papers, which follow the tradition of the journals of the 18th and early 19th centuries. The 'quality' papers are printed on large papers, have an undramatic layout and are serious in tone. They have editorials which comment on important issues and reflect the political views of the editor. They are more expensive than tabloids. Examples of the quality dailies are The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent and the Financial Times. People choose a paper that reflects their own political opinion. The popular press is mainly represented by papers founded after the launching day of the Daily Mail in 1896. T...

Different government spending levels can be considered within a meaningful macroeconomic framework. Income Approach This method measures GDP by adding incomes that firms pay households for the factors of production they hire- wages for labor, interest for capital, rent for land and profits for entrepreneurship. The "National Income and Expenditure Accounts" divide incomes into five categories: - Wages, salaries, and supplementary labour income - Corporate profits - Interest and miscellaneous investment income - Farmers' income - Income from non-farm unincorporated businesses These five income components sum to net domestic income at factor cost. 1906 peale töötamist India Kontoris Londonis, tuli Keynes Kings Kolledzisse tagasi, kuna teda kutsuti majandusteaduse õppejõuks. Olles Cambridge' Ülikooli professor alates 1920. aastast, osales ta ka Inglise Panga Direktooriumi töös 20. sajandi 30-ndate aastate Suure Depressiooni ajal leidis ta Suurbritannias väljapääsu majanduskriisist. Oma teoreetilise pärandi avaldas J. M. Keynes 1936. aastal teoses "Hõive, protsendi ja raha üldteooria" (The General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money), milles on antud esmakordselt makromajanduskategooriate süsteemne käsitlus. Tähtsat osa selles süsteemis etendab raha, millele Keynes pühendas suure osa oma uuringutest. Ta osales väga aktiivselt Rahvusvahelise Valuutafondi (International Monetary Fund - IMF) loomises ning Teise maailmasõja järgse rahvusvahelise rahasüsteemi korrastamisel. 1956 aastal, kui akadeemilistes ringkondades võimutsesid

computer game existing. Another question is about the price. It says the computer has a remarkable discount. So how much did this thing cost earlier? I have a technical question also. The operation system is new Windows Vista, but can i run some old programs too like from ninties? The ad says i can do the payment by instalments. So if i do this can i do everything with the laptop or i have some limits which comprise downloadings and such other things. How high is the interest rate? I look forward to your answer! Yours, Edgar Rootalu

Christopher Columbus

many journeys to the South Atlantic from his home the Madeira Islands. He also sailed to Bristol and Galway. Many people believed that he had also sailed to the north of Iceland in 1477. During those visits Columbus heard stories about life to the west of Europe. His ambition to find the shortest and safest sea route to the riches of the Far East started to grow. Gradually he worked out his plan to reach the East by sailing west. In 1482 Columbus tried to interest the Portugese king, Joao III, in his journey. The Portugese king had tried to find a route to the Indies from the east for a long time. Columbus explained that he believed he could reach the Indies from the west. In 1483 the Portugese king told Columbus that he would not pay for the journey because he did not believe that Columbus could find the Indies from the west. Columbus decided to ask the joint rulers of Spain, King Ferdinand of Aragon and

Emily Dickinson

ties, she lived a mostly introverted and reclusive life. Emily Dickinson, regarded as one of America's greatest poets, is also well known for her unusual life of self imposed social seclusion. Living a life of simplicity and seclusion, she yet wrote poetry of great power; questioning the nature of immortality and death, with at times an almost mantric quality. Her different lifestyle created an aura; often romanticised, and frequently a source of interest and speculation. But ultimately Emily Dickinson is remembered for her unique poetry. Within short, compact phrases she expressed far- reaching ideas; amidst paradox and uncertainty her poetry has an undeniable capacity to move and provoke. Liis

The Noble Savage in the 20th Century Fiction

Pochahontas (1995) and Nobody in Dead Man (1995). Pop culture has defined the noble savage as a mentor to the modern man, a guide to the spiritual world and to the ways of the nature. In order to qualify as a mentor the character must give us a different perspective on what we are used to experiencing. A savage is perfect for the roll alien traditions, differing appereances, different common knowledge and wisdom. He is something nobody has ever seen. He raises interest in the hero and in the consumer. 20th century literature and film has projected these traits to not only exotic beings but also to every mentor we see in pop culture. A guide in today's story does not have to be a native of a completely different civilization but has to preserve its strange and alien nature. He is a relevant part of the hero's adventure, keeping him on the right tracks and helping him reach his final goal. But he is not a savage in the common sense, he is just weird and new

If I were the misiter on education

Because of that some students can not afford to eat at school but schooldays are long and it is unhealthy to go all day without eating. School buffet's offer unhealthy chips and pies but very little healthy vegetables and fruits so I would make buffets healthier. Secondly, I believe that it would make classes more effective to watch different educational movies. Doing the same thing from day to day is simply boring and some variety would surely increase students' interest in class. The third thing I would do to spice up life at school is organizing more fieldtrips. There are many different cultural and historical exhibits and museums kids may never visit unless they skip classes to do so. To sum up, I would say that although the Minister of Education could change a lot, our school life today is pretty good.
