Survey Report To: My English class and teacher From: Subject: Upcoming Population Census The purpose of this report is to let you know about the statistics learned from a survey conducted by the research agency Factum & Ariko in October about the upcoming mandatory Census of Population and Housing. They questioned 500 people aged 1574 all over Estonia. 83% of Estonian's are aware of the upcoming Population and Housing Census and 95% consider the Census essential for Estonia. Report The travelling habits of Estonians The aim of the report is to analyse the difference of holiday habits of Estonian people. It is based on a survey carried out by the students of 10a between 10th to 15th February in 2010. The interviews involved students and adults. The majority of young people want to travel by car or by plane and their favourite accommodation is a hotel or camping. They are ready to pay about 6000 EEK for one trip. Adults like to travel by car too and their favourite accommodation is a hotel, while older people like comfort. More than 90% of questioned adults found that a hotel is the best accommodation. REPORT PURPOSE The purpose of this report is to compare the opinions of Estonian and British students about education. The report is based on 2 surveys carried out in Estonia and the United Kingdom. THE AIM OF CHILDREN’S EDUCATION As predicted all the Estonian children questioned, think that the main aim of children’s education is to prepare them for everyday life. Surprisingly 73% of the questioned British children think that the aim of children’s education is to prepare them for a career. Only 23% of the questioned British think that school prepares them for everyday life. The result surprised me because it showed that British kids and Estonian kids think very differently. According to the latest Census, the aim of this report is to figure out how much time people spend on household chores. The following points give us a good overview how men and women do it in Estonia. This report was commissioned by the Estonian Department of Statistics. It can be seen from the chart that both men and women spend about eight hours on household chores in Estonia. Men spend most of their time on building and making repairs. Less than an hour of their time is spent on gardening and pet care. Moreover men also like cooking and laundry in spite of losing their manhood. We had 12 students who gave an opinion about the Estonian educational system. Corporal punishment is illegal in British and Estonian schools. 62% of British childrens think that it would be needful but only 31% Estonian childrens have the same opinion. Actually it could be not banned, because if they used controlled corporal punishment it is not likely to be harmful. We questioned 500 stundents, from forms 7 to 9 and 10 to 12. As can be seen from the table the most popular genres of music among forms 7 to 9 were pop and rap. Pop music was liked by 21% of all students and rock music by 17%.
