My findings are presented below. Places and rooms Teachers would like us to be outside as much as possible, so majority of lessons take place outdoors. Students can have their lessons free at Tehvandi Sports Centre. In case of a bad weather we usually do our lessons in big and modern sports hall. Equipment Students can use different balls and other gymnastic equipment for free. If a student does not have skis in winter season, he or she can rent skis and ski boots without paying money. The eating habits of the Estonian population are related to the season, which severely affect the availability of fresh food. The spring and summer are the seasons of fresh food, in this period are used vegetables, berries and herbs, with the warmer climate the Estonians also like to cook meat grilled outdoors. During the winter are used mushrooms, jams, and preserved foods. Among the typical Estonian dishes are: Baltic fish in acid sauce, pork with sauerkraut and boiled potatoes, blood sausage and barley, marinade anguilla, boiled pork in jelly, tongue, smoked fish and a kind of dry cake-like barley bread. Thoughts on Air Pollution Essay

Air pollution Every day, the average person inhales about 20,000 liters of air. Every time we breathe, we risk inhaling dangerous chemicals that have found their way into the air. Air pollution includes all contaminants found in the atmosphere. These dangerous substances can be either in the form of gases or particles. Air pollution can be found both outdoors and indoors. Pollutants can be trapped inside buildings, causing indoor pollution that lasts for a long time. The sources of air pollution are both natural and human-based. As one might expect, humans have been producing increasing amounts of pollution as time has progressed, and they now account for the majority of pollutants released into the air. Air pollution has been a problem throughout history. Even in Ancient Romepeople complained about smoke put into the atmosphere.

From late August to early September, a stinky tradition is upheld in Sweden, particularly in the northern part of the country. This is when cans of fermented sour Baltic herring (surströmming) are opened — a tradition dating to the 1800s. The custom always takes place outdoors owing to the overpowering, unpleasant smell, which many compare to rotten eggs and raw sewage. Crisp bread — hard to beat In addition to bread and butter, you’ll often find a type of crisp bread called knäckebröd served alongside your main meal. This is what the Swedes tend to reach for. Once considered poor man’s food, crisp bread has been baked in Sweden for over 500 years, can last for at least a year if stored properly, and remains among the most versatile

Outdoor education can improve student's health, while taking place in fresh air and making students physically active. The more students show their potential and skills, the more parents will allow them to be independent. If we want to set the pattern of being active daily, we should involve outdoor education into our curriculum on a regular basis. Students practitioning outdoor education already in elementary school are more likely to be physically active and enjoy outdoors in their future life too. Outdoor education includes lots of teamwork and interaction between students, therefore it is an excellent way to get students socializing. All students need friends in school. Sometimes it is hard for some pupils to make friends and they need help. Doing teamwork in lessons are always a good way to get children communicating and making platforms for further friendships. One of the oldest type of entertainment is the theatre. It is a word taken from the Ancient Greeks. It means Seeing Place. A typical stage-play depends on 3 things: actions seen, words spoken and people watching and listening. The first theatres were built by the ancient Greeks. They were outdoors. There were no plays. Songs sung by a chorus told stories about gods. There were also dances. Today the interior of a modern theatre looks different. The two main parts of a modern theatre are the stage and the hall. The hall is separated from the stage by the orchestra. At the sides of the stage are the wings. A curtain covers the stage. The seats on the floor are known as stalls. Three times a year there was a ball - for the gentry, for the farmer and for the servants. One of the main activities at Sandringham was shooting. The Prince of Wales liked to be outdoors as much as possible and he devised the idea of ST - Sandringham Time. The idea was to make the most of the winter daylight hours for his passion for shooting and so the clocks all over the Sandringham Estate were advanced by half an hour. King George V maintained this custom during his lifetime, but King Edward VIII abolished it on his accession in 1936. Sandringham was the setting for some dramatic events. Contemporary realism was no longer the academic realism of C19. Abstraction increased the role of formal structure, Expressionism stimulated free and emotional manner and Surrealism widened the sources of inspiration. "Magic Realists" opposed abstract art by a realism of style, not of content. Exemplary artist. Andrew Wyeth (mid-C20). He worked in dry-brush watercolor and tempera. His themes included loneliness in nature and the outdoors, and nostalgia. His technique was meticulous and clinically direct. He strived for the verisimilitude of the photograph. His paintings display social and psychological tension and the savagery of the life during the era. He reduced his compositions to their bare essence. SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Few know that the late Apple boss Steve Jobs didn't let his own children have iPads. I wish he had gone public on this as other parents might have followed suit. Because the earlier children are hooked on screens, the more difficult it is to wean them off. This is not the only worry. Today's children have far fewer opportunities for what I call `real play'. They are no longer learning through first-hand experiences how to be human and are much less likely to play or socialize outdoors or with others. The change in children's play has happened in little more than a couple of decades. While many parents feel uneasy about all that screen-time, they haven't tackled it as they've been so busy keeping up with changes in their own lives. But real play is a biological necessity. One psychologist told me it was `as vital for healthy development as food or sleep'. A whole generation can grow up without the mental ability to create their own fun, devise their own games and enjoy real

Referaat "Chelsea Flower Show"

This structure, which will be used for the foreseeable future, comprises a versatile series of small tents, which can be moved about to create courtyard spaces open to the sky, and which will be known as the floral Marquees. With the departure of the old canvas Marquee, some of the atmosphere will be lost. The damp grass and canvas had a special smell. They are considerably lighter than the old Marquee - on a cloudy day it can be brighter inside than outdoors - and that will give the Show a different atmosphere from any other British flower show. There is a good ventilation to draw out the hot air so in theory, every Chelsea should be a lot cooler. 15 It is quite possible that other parts of the Chelsea Flower Show will follow, so that Chelsea concentrates on what its visitors really come to see. heads should be spaced farther apart or scattered around the garden. In Ohio, planting can take place from early to mid-May. Seed bed soil temperature must be between 42 and 50 degrees F with temperatures above 50 degrees F preferable for germination to occur rapidly. Depending on variety and environmental factors, germination will occur in 7 to 12 days. Plants will mature in 80 to 90 days. For the home situation, seed can be started in four-inch peat pots and transplanted outdoors. Transplants may grow taller and flower sooner than seed started plants. They should start to flower in ten weeks. Weeds can be a problem for sunflowers. Weed control is practiced for the first four to five weeks after seed emergence. For the home garden, hand weeding and mulching are the best methods. Diseases and Pests A common disease of sunflowers is Sclerotina or white mold, which causes stalk and head rots. Disease spores can live for many years in the soil. Other common diseases are

there was the sun. It was in the wrong place in the sky, too low, and it didn't seem to be as close as it should be, but it was definitely the sun. Clouds ringed the horizon, but a large patch of blue was visible in the middle. I lingered by the window as long as I could, afraid that if I left the blue would disappear again. The Newtons' Olympic Outfitters store was just north of town. I'd seen the store, but I'd never stopped there -- not having much need for any supplies required for being outdoors over an extended period of time. In the parking lot I recognized Mike's Suburban and Tyler's Sentra. As I pulled up next to their vehicles, I could see the group standing around in front of the Suburban. Eric was there, along with two other boys I had class with; I was fairly sure their names were Ben and Conner. Jess was there, flanked by Angela and Lauren. Three other girls stood with them, including one I remembered falling over in Gym on Friday

Cats

The eyes were large and prominent, of a bright orange, slightly tinted with green, the ears large by comparison, with small tufts, full of long, woolly hair, the limbs stout and short, the tail being very dissimilar, as it was short, very woolly, and thickly covered with hair the same length from the base to the tip, and much resembled in form that of the English wild cat." According to Weir, its motion was less agile than other cats and it did not care for warmth, preferring to be outdoors in the coldest weather. Another peculiarity was that it seemed uninterested in hunting birds. Its habits were not like those of its companion shorthaired cats. It attached itself to no person, but was inseparable from a shorthaired, silver-gray tabby female. This pair produced a single black-and-white kitten. The kitten inherited the woolly coat, had somewhat of a mane and a short bushy tail. It also seemed uninterested in birds, but would attack rats!
