Otherkin
Beliefs - Otherkin are a community of people who see themselves as partially or entirely non-human. This is explained by some members of the otherkin community through reincarnation, they have a nonhuman souls. Here you can see the model of reincarnation- it happens when a non-human (for example a fox or a wolf or a dragon) dies , their body dies but the soul never dies and it just takes some other body, gets inside there and many Otherkin community members believe that this non-human soul is in their body, that their own soul is not human. They declare that inside they are more than just homo sapiens . Not all otherkin necessarily share these beliefs; some may simply prefer to identify as non-human without this reincarnation. Mostly these peole communicate on the Internet and if they gather then mostly to talk about their past, their feelings or to just get more information about other otherkins.
Behaviour- Otherkin is a pretty quiet subculture. They dont do or go to demostrations or attack people, because most of the otherkin understand that really only one or two percent of the population share their beliefs. They gather secretly in places where they are free to talk to each other. Some otherkin claim they are allergic to iron ( here is the illustrative picture) or some other things that people actually are not allergic to - for example garlic, silver , some kinds of wood, whilst other otherkin (usually half -dragons) claim that having no allergies at all is a sign of being an otherkin. Some otherkin also claim to be especially empathic and attuned to nature.
Influences - Tales about werewolfs, vampires, dragons, arcangels have been told hundreds years before the first otherkin community was founded . It is obvious that these stories and strange events connected to these stories influenced the appearance of real vampires and half-unicorns but there comes the question- where were the otherkins two hundred years ago? Or why did they firstly appear only 20 years ago? Well, it is believed that non-human humans always lived on the planet , thruout the history but only in 1990-s they had a chance to talk about themselves, after the World experienced so much- two world wars, genocide etc. Only then could the otherkins talk about themselves without a fear of being bullied.
First big otherkin community grew out of the elven online communities of the early -to-mid- 1990s . The oldest Internet resource for otherkin is the Elfinkind Digest, a mailing list started in 1990. It was the time when otherkins revealed themselves and people got to know about this subculture.
Do the otherkins influence somebody? Of course they do, there are still hundreds of half-humans who don’t understand what is happening , who don’t know who they are,- they feel something other people don’t feel, they feel lost but the otherkin members help them out so lost people understand where they belong.
Also otherkin community shows that many unbelievable things like reincarnation are possible which means that maybe there is magic in our World, maybe it is just deeper science which we are going to understand in the future.

See on Word-i dokument, milles on informatsioon ühe subkultuuri kohta, otherkin-i subkultuur.

a discontinuity in its development, a leap to an entirely different level of Being and, most important, a lessening of materiality. What could be heavier and more impenetrable than a rock, the densest of all forms? And yet some rocks undergo a change in their molecular structure, turn into crystals, and so become transparent to the light. Some carbons, under inconceivable heat and pressure, turn into diamonds, and some heavy minerals into other precious stones. Most crawling reptilians, the most earthbound of all creatures, have remained unchanged for millions of years. Some, however, grew feathers and wings and turned into birds, thus defying the force of gravity that had held them for so long. They didn’t become better at crawling or walking, but transcended crawling and walking entirely. Since time immemorial, flowers, crystals, precious stones, and birds have held special significance for the human spirit

giant of Africa. In the last 32 years, I have watched with horror and outright helplessness as the downward slide of the African race continues to escalate. But rather than address the problems, we resort to blaming the Caucasians, Asians and others for our misfortune. We are not men enough to accept responsibility for our actions. Africans blame either the British, French or little Portuguese/Spanish for their problems. Africans in America blame the Caucasians for all their problems, or any other ethic group they have allowed to take over their neighbours, a frequently recurring phenomena. Africans blame the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the Group of 7, the former colonial masters for the abject poverty in our respective countries. We blame the wars ravaging several African sectors on the interference of our former colonial masters on “our internal affairs.” Ha! – some kind of independence!

Reasons why human beings are unique

"I am become death, the destroyer of worlds." So said the physicist Robert Oppenheimer, who helped to invent the atomic bomb. The two bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 killed around 200,000 Japanese people. No other species has ever wielded such power, and no species could. The technology behind the atomic bomb only exists because of a cooperative hive mind: hundreds of scientists and engineers working together. The same unique intelligence and cooperation also underlies more positive advances, such as modern medicine. But is that all that defines us? In recent years, many traits once believed to be uniquely human, from morality to culture, have been found in the animal

Study to his frontal lobe provided evidence that the brain affects personality and social behaviors. Discuss ethical considerations related to research studies at the biological level of analysis. In case studies for example, the researcher often obtains deeply personal information, which is not usually shared with other people. Any researcher conducting a case study must be very protective of the identities of the participants. The researcher should also have the professional competence to deal with the focus of the case study. Animal rights!! Explain one study related to localization of function of the brain. Education

Home education is an alternative idea, and I won't rule it out, but need to learn more about it first. My hunch is, even average Seattle public schools can turn out well rounded, capable students, if the students receive excellent support at home. I say this because I've met such students. Also, some private schools kids have turned out to be unsuccessful. Probably a loving, involved family atmosphere, in which such things as reading, game- playing, shared meals and other activities all go on routinely -- is more valuable than monetary wealth with a sterile family life. Sure, children can always grow up to beat the odds. But I'd rather cast my vote for public schools and the Republicans' "strong family values" over a private school upbringing that had joyless family life. Yes, the best is to have your cake and eat it, too. But although wealth just won't go around, love, sharing, reading, good manners -- are within the reach of all of us.

once. First theories are formed based off of existing facts and information and then scientists look for evidence to support their theories. Sometimes they succeed and sometimes they don’t. In the case of the discovery of DNA structure and function it took countless trials and errors before Watson and Crick were able to propose the double helix. To accomplish that they relied heavily on the discoveries that other scientists had made 1 before them. Mainly on Rosalind Franklin’s X-ray diffraction images of DNA.1 The knowledge obtained took a lot of effort from many different scientists along with a lot of time to produce. The information is very useful and it is found to be very valuable, without the hardship and dedication from those scientists we would not have this knowledge.

She also noted that they all seemed to crave roommates who shared their values, which, she pointed out, "is how many relationships are built -- it's probably the right the thing to do. You don't want to come home and spend your evening fighting with someone over health care. You want someone who agrees with you." Yet she worried that other personality types, the sort who know how to fix the toaster or program the VCR, weren't being invited into these houses.
