Navajo rugs are one of the most popular crafts, not only for a floor rug but to hang as a wall tapestry. Silversmithing Silversmithing is an important art form among Navajo. Silversmithing dates back to the 1800s when Navajo artists began melting silver coins to make jewelry. By the 1890s, Navajo silversmiths had begun setting turquoise into their jewelry. Navajo smiths began adding large chunks of stones, usually turquoise, to the silver in unique designs. Over time, they developed tools and techniques to stamp or engrave the metal. Today, Navajo jewelry is well known and highly valued by both Native and non-Native Americans. It remains a distinctive feature of Navajo history and culture. Basketry
evacuate the area. Mount Kelud, what is 1,731 meter high, had been rumbling for several weeks and was under close observation. The disaster agency said that volcano had spewed millions of cubic meters of debris into the air. Breathing was painful, because ash hung so thickly in the air. 3. Scientists have discovered how lava dome volcanoes erupt and thanks to that they can predict how volcanic eruption will behave. They have discoverd that frictional melting helps predict how a vulcano will erupt. Frictional melting generates stick-slip process what causes rhythmic small earthquakes. Frictional melting takes place when large tectonic earthquakes occur. The ultimate goal is to start predicting when or where vulcano is going to start erupting. Voc. 1. Tartu The university town, museum-rich and Hanseatic city of Tartu lies on the banks of the River Emajõgi. The capital of sothern Estonia is the second largest city in the country and the oldest in the Baltic States. Tartu is a modern city with a rich historical heritage and culture. One of Tartu ´s most important historical monuments is the St. John´s Church with it´s thousand terracotta sculptures. Narva As In the past, Narva remains a melting pot for nations, periods and cultures, old and new. This is what makes the town so special. The 13th century castle, a beautiful baroque Town Hall, the best preserved system of historic defence building (bastions) in Europe, Krenholm textile plant (once Europe's largest, and an excellent example of British industrial architecture), waterfalls, and much, much more. The temperature inside a NASCAR V-8 engine can reach 2000 degrees Fahrenheit the pressure can reach 1500 psi, or more than 100 times the normal air pressure we feel around us every day. Some parts exposed to the worst of an engine's extreme heat use special metals to keep them from melting and fusing with another part of the engine. NASCAR rules 1)carburated V-8 with iron block 2) NASCAR also requires teams to use blocks, cylinders and intake manifolds made from castings of approved manufacturers 3) NASCAR places strict limits, for instance, on how engine cylinders are bored THANK YOU!
Presentation „Floods“ Flood ● A flood is an overflow of an expanse of water that submerges land. ● Flooding usually happens by overflowing rivers and lakes. ● Floods often cause damage to homes and businesses if they are placed in natural flood plains of rivers. Major causes of floods ● Heavy rainfall ● Huge snow melting ● Tidal waves ● Something blocking the flow of rivers Different types of floods ● Slow-Onset Floods – usually lasts the longest, sometimes up to months. ● Rapid-Onset Floods – does not last so long, up to 2 days only. Usually causes more damage than slow-onset flood. ● Flash Floods – lasts up to few hours. Causes the greatest damages to the society. Deadliest floods ● Huang He yellow river, China 1931

located near oceans and sees will be flooded. Secondly, if we don't stop global warming, we will bserve more examples of extreme weather such as heat waves, storm clouds, which may lead to floods, droughts and forest fires. Next conseqences of global warming is that oceans temperature will go up. It is likely that it will cause an increase in activity of hurricanes, what will cause many unimaginable destructions. Also, ice will start to melting in Alaska, so it will lead to extremination of many species. And to sum up, global warming will definitely change the way we live in future. Those changes will have huge affects on plants and animals life, aconomy and people's health. Everything depends on us, we are able to stop global warming with starting being as environment- friendly as we can. Thank you!

The ecological footstep of mankind is getting bigger and bigger by the day. Although everybody seems to acknowledge the problem and also care about the wellbeing and preservation of our planet the situation is only getting worse. Firstly, the ever growing need for energy is taking its toll on the environment. Due to the fast growth of the economical and industrial sector in recent years the need for energy has grown dramatically. Global warming which is responsible for the melting of the ice cap which leads to the rise of sea level is mainly caused by the high use of fossil fuels. Secondly, over-consumption caused by population growth on Earth leads to pollution which is becoming highly dangerous to the environment. The decomposition of materials used nowadays is often hundreds of years long. Unfortunately the number of reusable products is getting smaller by the day. Often the reusable product is also less affordable to the consumer

immigrants were uneducated, the man worked at building bridges, canals and women became maids, cooks. Poor living conditions, lack of food and medical care led to illnesses and an early death. The population of the USA is more than 300 million. The biggest national groups today are of German ,Irish and English descent. About 30 millions African Americans live in the USA.They are the descendants of Africans brought to America as slaves in the 17th century. For them the USA is a kind of melting pot , where they have become Americans. Others have kept their traditions and culture , so for them their new homeland is like a salad bowl. But perhaps it is better to say that the population of the United States is like a pizza , where we can see different bits and pieces , but together they make something much bigger.

Sea levels were lower and Ireland, like Great Britain, formed part of continental Europe. By 16,000 BC, rising sea levels due to ice melting caused Ireland to become separated from Great Britain. Later, around 6000 BC, Great Britain itself became separated from continental Europe. The earliest evidence of human presence in Ireland is dated at 10,500 BC, demonstrated by a butchered bear bone found in a cave in County Clare. It is not until about 8000 BC, however, that more sustained occupation of the island has been shown, with evidence for Mesolithic communities around the island

Global Warming One of the biggest issues our planet and its inhabitants are facing nowadays is global warming. Global warming, also often referred to as the greenhouse effect, has not always been a problem. However, over the last centuries, since the Industrial Revolution things have changed. Polar regions are melting, species are dying, climate zones are shifting, migration patterns for animals such as polar bears and birds are being disrupted our world as we know it is changing. Some scientists believe that the climate will reach a tipping point, a point at which even a tiny additional increase would throw the system into violent change. We started doing harmful things and only now do we realize what we have done and what we are doing
The leaves become yellow, red or gold before they dry up and fall off the trees. Animals: A wide variety of mammals, birds, insects, and reptiles can be found in the deciduous forest biome. Mammals that can be found include bears, raccoons, squirrels, skunks, wood mice, and deer. Animals like bobcats, elk, bison, mountain lions, timberwolves, and coyotes used to be found in the deciduous forests, but have been hunted down by humans and almost wiped out. Melting snow in spring and rain during summer provide water for streams and ponds. Many water birds, insects, and fishes are found in this biome, along with amphibians such as frogs and salamanders, and reptiles such as lizards and small snakes. The platypus lives in the temperate forests of Australia. Animal Adaptations: The animals have developed different ways of surviving in this biome. Many of them migrate to warmer places to escape the cold winter

The present paper gives an overview on the World Trade Centre’s disaster that took place on September 11th in 2001. The main purpose was to research the presumable reasons why those buildings collapsed. Furthermore, terrorists work was also a part of the research. Many reference books and websites were used for this research. Only the most important information was used and made as a synopsis. As a result of this research it was found that the towers collapsed because of the melting of the supports that held the floors. The melting was caused by the burning fuel and because of that the floors collapsed on one another. 3 SISUKORD RESÜMEE....................................................................................2 RESUME......................................................................................3 SISUKORD...................................................................................4 1. Their necks are longer than other bears to keep their head above the water when they swim. They have strong legs and partially webbed front feet to help them swim. The polar bear is listed as an endangered species. In the past people hunted polar bears for their fur, today there are conservation projects to restrict hunting in the countries they exist. The polar bears aren't safe yet because chemicals are polluting their food stock. The ice packs in the North Pole are melting sooner in the spring, and cutting their time to hunt seals. warming. During the short summer tundra's plants take in carbon dioxide, sunlight and water in the process of photosynthesis. Plants normally give off carbon dioxide after they die and decompose. But because of the short, cool summer and freezing winter temperatures, plants can't decompose. Remains of plants thousands of years old have been found in the tundra permafrost. In this way the tundra traps the carbon dioxide and removes it from the atmosphere. Today global warming is melting the permafrost of the tundra and every year several feet of tundra are lost. As the tundra melts, the plant mass decomposes and returns carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. The tundra is a very fragile and difficult environment to survive in during the winter, and plants and animals have a hard time coping with any extra disturbances. The smallest stresses can bring about their destruction. More people moving to the tundra to work in the mines and oil rigs have created towns and more roads.
