destructive, even if it is a foot high. A tsunami (pronounced sue-nahm-ee) is a series of huge waves that can cause great devastation and loss of life when they strike a coast. Tsunamis are caused by an underwater earthquake, a volcanic eruption, an sub-marine rockslide, or, more rarely, by an asteroid or meteoroid crashing into in the water from space. Most tsunamis are caused by underwater earthquakes, but not all underwater earthquakes cause tsunamis - an earthquake has to be over about magnitude 6.75 on the Richter scale for it to cause a tsunami. About 90 percent of all tsunamis occur in the Pacific Ocean. Many tsunamis could be detected before they hit land, and the loss of life could be minimized, with the use of modern technology, including seismographs (which detect earthquakes), computerized offshore buoys that can measure changes in wave height, and a system of sirens on the beach to alert people of potential tsunami danger.

Passive houses

Passive houses OK, so let´s get started. Good afternoon everyone, my name is Kristiina, I´m a second year student here at Tallinn University of Technology and I´m standing here in front of you to talk about the ,,passive houses I will inform you about their magnitude and percentage nowadays and also talk about the potential difficulties that might appear when building a passive house". But I´ll start off by giving you an overview of the term. The definition of a passive house is based on its extremely low energy need. Passive houses consume less than a quarter of energy required for a standrard building, as a result reducing its ecological footprint. So it´s a ultralow energy building which requires little energy for space heating or cooling.

The regions that are at lowest risk in the state are near and west of Phoenix. The earliest Arizona earthquakes were recorded at Fort Yuma, on the California side of the Colorado River. They were centered near the Imperial Valley, or Mexico, back in the 1800s. In 1887, Douglas felt the shock of a magnitude 7.2 earthquake with an epicenter 40 miles to the south in the Mexican state of Sonora. The first damaging earthquake known to be centered within Arizona's borders occurred on January 25, 1906, also including a series of other earthquakes centered near Socorro, New Mexico. the current in the armature, this produces a Lorentz force which accelerates the projectile along the rails, always out of the loop (regardless of supply polarity) and away from the power supply. There are also Lorentz forces acting on the rails and attempting to push them apart, but since the rails are mounted firmly, they cannot move. By definition, if a current of one ampere flows in a pair of ideal infinitely long parallel conductors that are separated by a distance of one meter, then the magnitude of the force on each meter of those conductors will be exactly 0.2 micro-newtons. Furthermore, in general, the force will be proportional to the square of the magnitude of the current and inversely proportional to the distance between the conductors. It also follows that, for railguns with projectile masses of a few kilograms and barrel lengths of a few meters, very large currents will be required to accelerate projectiles to velocities of additions of 1000 m/s.

Total station problems

If the instrument is levelled, then the horizontal circle is placed into a horizontal plane and the vertical circle is placed into a vertical plane (horizontal and vertical angles can be measured in their proper planes). Earlier total stations had bubble tubes for levelling, later ones use automatic compensators. A surveyor roughly levels the total station using its leveling screws (three of them), then the magnitude of any leveling errors present are received by the instrument’s microprocessor, which will make appropriate corrections to the values of the measured horizontal and vertical angles. At first it is needed to firmly set up the tripod (as horizontal as possible with the eye), then it is needed to secure the total station on the tripod with a centering screw. Then it is convenient to use plumb bobs for approximate centering before using the plummets

and non-living natural systems, including ecosystems, land, air and water. The environmental dimension of sustainability has achieved the highest level of consensus among the three dimensions of sustainability reporting. It is particularly important to provide environmental performance information in terms of both absolute figures and normalized measures. Both measures reflect important, but distinct, aspects of sustainability. Absolute figures provide a sense of scale or magnitude of the use or impact, which allows the user to consider performance in the context of larger systems. In reporting on environmental indicators, reporting organisations are also encouraged to keep in mind the principle of sustainability context. With respect to the environmental measures in the report, organisations are encouraged to relate their individual performance to the broader ecological systems within which they operate. 9

 Sweep-Line Method exploit a certain kind of progress exhibited by many systems and makes possible to store small fragment of state space in memory. This means that the peak memory usage is significantly reduced.  Symmetry Method represents symmetric markings and symmetric binding elements using equivalence classes. State spaces can be condensed by factoring out this symmetry, and the symmetry- condensed state space is typically orders of magnitude smaller than the full state space.  The equivalence method is a generalisation of the symmetry method, where the constraint that the equivalence relations are induced by symmetries is removed. Instead, arbitrary equivalence relations on the markings and binding elements can be used provided that they are consistent. 19.Timed CPN  With a timed CPN performance measures can be calculated and also verifying if real-time system operations meet deadlines.

The forth paragraph will give recommendations for the future and some of the possible future problems in female adventure tourism will be looked at. The last paragraph will be a summary of the key findings and recommendations. Tourism is one of the world’s largest industries (Tisdell, 2000, Swarbrooke et al. 2003, Buckley, 2003). According to UNWTO, international tourist arrivals have reached 1,087 million in 2013. Nash (1995) noted that any human subject of such magnitude should be analysed by anthropological studies, rather than economical. Anthropology is human studies – that investigates the past, the present and the future, culture differences and similarities. Haviland, (1999). Nash (1996) also describes that tourism, including adventure tourism, is a part of socio- cultural anthropology studies. These studies are using the term of culture to refer to various activities as tourism does not take place in a vacuum

policies facilitate DH development. Introduction This paper describes barriers to district heating (DH) in various parts of Europe and to Swedish involvement in district-heating business abroad. The paper is based on a report called "District Heating in Europe: Barriers to overcome for Swedish export" , which was prepared for The Swedish District Heating Association. The losses by energy conversion in Europe are of the same magnitude as the European heat demand and consist mainly of heat that is wasted by electricity generation . District heating is a means to utilise such surplus heat to cover heat demand. District heating can utilise the heat from electricity generation in combined heat and power (CHP) plants. District heating can also use other heat sources that are difficult to use for individual buildings, such as unrefined biomass fuels, heat from waste incineration and industrial surplus heat

Geometry compression is possible, often reducing size by an order of magnitude. When this is combined with Java's NIO and networking, it facilitates the ready transfer of large quantities of data between applications such as multiplayer games. Java 3D is integrated with Java and its other libraries. This brings the benefits of object orientation (classes, inheritance, polymorphism), threads, exception handling, and APIs such as JMF and JAI. He ruled with a strong hand by imposing strict law upon all classes of Portuguese society from the high nobility to the poorest working class, along with a widespread review of the country's tax system. These reforms gained him enemies in the upper classes, especially among the high nobility, who despised him as a social upstart. Disaster fell upon Portugal in the morning of 1 November 1755, when Lisbon was struck by a violent earthquake with an estimated Richter scale magnitude of 9. The city was razed to the ground by the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami and ensuing fires. Sebastião de Melo survived by a stroke of luck and then immediately embarked on rebuilding the city, with his famous quote: "What now? We bury the dead and take care of the living."Despite the calamity and huge death toll, Lisbon suffered no epidemics and within less than one year was already be ing rebuilt. The new downtown of Lisbon was designed to resist subsequent earthquakes.

In contrast to Sumarokov's devotion to simplicity, Lomonosov favored a belief in a hierarchy of literary styles divided into high, middle and low. This style facilitated Lomonosov's grandiose, high minded writing and use of both vernacular and Church-Slavonic. It is instructive that after the Virginia Tech massacre, the next such event of similar magnitude occurred not at a high school, but also at a univer- sity, Northern Illinois. Events of this magnitude demand analysis and explanation. Some common thread needs to be identified to make sense of it all. In the case of the workplace murders, observers noticed how often the killing fields were the backrooms of U.S. post offices. Cryptologists had had an intellectual awareness of this danger at least since 1605, when Francis Bacon wrote that "in regards of the rawness and unskillfulnesse of the handes, through which they passe, the greatest Matters, are many times carryed in the weakest Cyphars." But it was not until cipher key after cipher key, and code after code, had been betrayed by needless mistakes or stupidities or outright rule violations that the magnitude of the problem was borne in upon them. The problem had swollen to such proportions because so large a volume of messages had to be handled by so many untrained men— against whom were pitted the best brains of the enemy. The experts realized that to eliminate these is to strengthen cryptographic security more effectively than by introducing the most ingenious cipher. The great practical lesson of World War I cryptology was the necessity of infusing
