For 450 years, from about 1400 to about 1850, a system that was half a code and half a cipher dominated cryptography. It usually had a separate cipher alphabet with homophones and a codelike list of names, words, and syllables. This list, originally just of names, gave the system its name: nomenclator. Even though late in its life some nomenclators grew larger than some modern codes, such systems are still called "nomenclators" if they fall within this historical period. With a particular interest in Wales, the following research project analyses the development of children`s active participation both in the Welsh Government and the County and Council of Swansea. Both the local and national authority has regarded the UNCRC on the basis of all its activity. One of the primary goals in both authorities is to work towards the adoption of the UNCRC in every school in Wales and Swansea as they recognise the positive impact rights based education may have upon young people`s emotional, social and academic development. The central theme of this dissertation rests on the commitment of the Cadle Primary School towards children`s right to participation as underpinned in the Article 12 of the UNCRC. The Cadle Primary School is one of the first schools in Swansea to adopt the UNCRC through the Rights Respecting School programme (RRSA). The RRSA school initiative is developed by
encouragement and utilising the latter's recently completed Programmers' Handbook for the Ferranti computer). By the summer of 1952 this program could, Strachey reported, "play a complete game of Draughts at a reasonable speed". Prinz's chess program, also written for the Ferranti Mark I, first ran in November 1951. It was for solving simple problems of the mate-in-two variety. The program would examine every possible move until a solution was found. On average several thousand moves had to be examined in the course of solving a problem, and the program was considerably slower than a human player. Turing started to program his Turochamp chess-player on the Ferranti Mark I but never completed the task. . 5 1 Introduction The relationship between psychology and the stress response has been studied for many years. Hans Selye (1956) defined stress as the psycho-physiological response to demands that influence the endocrine system and the autonomic nervous system. He conceptually defined stress as a General Adaptation Syndrome (G.A.S) comprising three phases. Firstly an alarm reaction phase accumulated from an arousing external stimuli, followed by a period of adaptation to the stressor or so called resistance stage, until finally the body expresses exhaustion. More recently the effects of exercise- induced stress has been extensively studied in relation to the immune response (Brydon et al 2005,Morita et al., 2005). In psychology stress is studied in terms of psychosocial factors, which in turn are thought to affect physiological and immunological responses. In addition to
