The case for socialism Four National faults Economic Inequality. The distribution of income and property is amazingly unequal. The most recent investigations suggest that 10 per cent of the population recieve over 45 per cent of the national money income, while 90 per cent recieve the remaining 55 per cent. The distribution of property is even more uniequal. 1 per cent of the population own 60 per cent of the saleable assets of the nations. Individual incomes range from £1 000 000 a year to £50 per year

Please explain why? Functionalism and conflict theory are very different views of society, but they are not exactly opposites. Both have arguments, that make people think about the society they live in and both have theorists who critize each other. In my opinion, none of the theories are completely wrong but I do tend to agree with people on the conflict theory side. Firstly, functionalism ignores inequality and focuses too much on the positive functions in society. For example racism, functionalists will say that it must be imporant in order to exist as long as it has but in my opinion that sounds quite doubtful. The most problematic part about racism is above all the tension and conflict which comes with it. Seems to me, that functionalists ignore the negative sides which society has on people. Secondly, I agree that society will always be in conflict because of fighting for limited resources
know about someone´s past with criminal aspects. It is easier to be in a relation with people with good past and we often choose people with same views on life beside us. However, I think it is not always true, that a person who has committed a crime, doesn't have accurate posture, because there can be many different reasons why a crime was committed and what kind of reasons did it have. Second, another area, where we can find inequality, is at work. When looking for a job, first of all, people without criminal past are chosen first. Employers tend to choose their employees regarding to the past, because they are careful about a person they choose to work with. You should be able to trust a person, to rely on him/her and who can value honesty and work ethics. Quite frequently people who committed a crime aren't even given a chance to prove, can they can also be valuable employees.
makes him differ from Karl Marx. Wright also saw difference from the obedience relationship between classes, he distinguished domination and exploiting rather than just upper and lower class, which have very concrete aspects that define them. In my opinion, Wright did not think the same because he did see the society in a much larger context and bigger picture, whereas the middle class was dealing with life instead of revolutionizing, which inevitably causes inequality. Some people have business knowledge and others have skills, which necessarily makes one getting exploited by the other. What he wanted to say was, that the proletariat does not have to be against the upper class. All in all, I am more into Erik Olin Wright’s view rather than Marx’s. Unless there comes a time in my lifetime when an event such as a revolution really comes to life. Until then, they both make good points and have ideas that are worthy of looking into.
labor shortage in Estonia and the high salaries students will be earning after university. For me these are not the reasons I want to study IT, but because I am genuinely interested in developing new software and applications for computers. But since a lot of teenagers want to study IT, I find myself questioning, if so many people are getting degrees, will there be enough jobs for all of us graduates? Another minor fear I have about working in the IT sector in the future is tied to gender inequality. Stereotypically, IT specialists are nerdy men with ponytails and glasses, spending time alone in their room with no social lives. Because of this stereotype, men are more favored by the employers and women have a much harder time asserting themselves in this precise field. However, in recent media news articles in Estonia, there has been a lot of encouraging calls towards women to go work in the sector.

In his sermon A modell of Christian charity, reliance to the Bible is the key element which reveals in the interpretation of God itself and morals of the Bible. He begins by offering explanation to the inequality of the human kind and why God wants such inequality to exist at all. Simple reciprocity is indicated by collating the rich and the poor as it follows: „soe that the riche and mighty should not eate upp the poore nor the poore and dispised rise upp against and shake off theire yoake” (Winthrop, 1996). These differences give humans the opportunity to manifest the work of the Spirit within them. The poor are recommended be loyal and honest in their worship to their betters and to authorities. Samal aastal hakati riigi olukorda parandama ning võeti vastu seadus millele põhinedes eraldati väikeste lastega peredele 1,6 miljardit eurot. Nende sissetulek kasvas 400 euroni kuus. Selline seadus oli erakordne, sest Itaalia on ainuke kolmest OECD riigist, kes on kümne aasta jooksul sotsiaalabi suurendanud. protect individual life, liberty and property is upheld. Superficially, the concept of a fiduciary compact appears both fair and pragmatic, however it could be argued that as only a certain minority of people are allowed to take part in the voting process, the concept of majority will is rendered meaningless. As the fiduciary agreement is at the core of Locke's argument for legitimising government, it becomes apparent that it can only address certain interests, inevitably lead to further inequality. For example Marx and Engels (1978, p. 15) argue that the executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the bourgeoisie. Locke's prerogative is that absolute government of the kind advocated by Hobbes is unjust because it is not in the interest or will of the majority and can easily lead to tyranny. Locke's theory of limited government is more progressive, as

Conclusively, the authors explain, "Ecuador is a relatively small, middle income developing country with an open economy that does not even have its own currency, yet in five years it has accomplished some of the most comprehensive financial reforms of any country in the 21st century" (Maiello, 2013). Ecuador economic growth has been inclusive, which has directly reduced poverty and inequality levels and increased the middle class. Between 2006 and 2012, income poverty (using the national poverty line) fell from 37.6% to 27.3% whereas extreme poverty declined from 16.9% to 11.2%.Public investment has increased, from 21% of GDP in 2006 to nearly 42% in 2012 (Bank T. It is likely some of those traits depend on genetic brain makeup. In any case, for purposes of an essay on education, I propose to say no more about common sense. thought possible`40. Children as young as nine for example have been regarded of having a degree of capability in comprehending political issues and making political decisions 41. Alderson postulates that young children have a strong interest towards societal issues like environment and poverty if these matters are discussed in the classroom42. She concedes that children have the competence of understanding `general and partly-abstract issues, such as the politics of racism, inequality and oppression` if these things are discussed with them 43. Besides, children as young as five, have a very clear understanding of `self and others, language, physics, technology, morality and arts`44. Furthermore, in contrast to Laura Purdy`s evaluation of children being morally undeveloped, Stephen Law proposes an alternative argument based on studies involving philosophy with children in several countries 45. He points out that children who were
He wanted to show that while acculturation mostly occurred in the form of Native Americans gradually conforming to white cultural standards, the white colonists could and did appropriate certain elements of native culture, particularly those practical elements which proved useful under colonial conditions. Such an acculturation was a conscious move on the part of the white colonists because, as David Murray observes, "Given the context of radical inequality of power between the two cultures, representation and comprehension of Indians by whites involves an appropriation, even an expropriation, parallel to the economic expropriation which is its context." They believed that it would lead to a greater knowledge of the natives by the colonists, which in turn would lead to a greater ability to exploit the natives and eventually to a complete appropriation of them
