Frankenstein by Mary Shelley
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly was an English romantic/gothic novelist, who lived 30. August 1797 till 1. February 1851. The idea for the book was influenced by her nightmare and she began writing “Frankenstein” in a very young age.
This book provides a fascinating story of what one man can create and how it effect `s the people surrounding him. Therefore this book will make you WANT to know more when the story progresses. Not only does this book take an interesting look into the many events which occurred, but describes the characters who`s lives these intentions influenced, as well
The story is about a man who had created a monster . The story begins in the North Pole, on a boat , where captain Robert Walton was on a journey of discovery. The Captain met a man whose name was Victor Frankenstein. Victor was very ill and his quest to destroy the monster had squeezed all the life out of him. He started to tell Robert about his miserable life.
Victor lived with his family in Switzerland. When Victor was a child , he wanted to learn the hidden laws of nature, the secrets of heaven and earth. When he became older, he went to study in Ingolstadt where he began creating a monster. At first he was excited, but when the creature came to life, he realised that it was a big mistake. The monster ran away and started to explore life.
In time, he learned how to use fire and how to talk by observing people. He wanted to communicate with the locals, but they threw rocks at him and wanted to kill him. So he felt lonely and soon became angry at everyone. After hearing that, Victor went back to Switzerland, the monster killed Victors brother . Victor was certain that the killer was the monster. He was devastated and went to the mountains to calm down. There he met the creature. The monster told Victor what he had done in the meanwhile . He confessed killing Victor’s brother. The monster also demanded that Victor created a female monster so that he could be with her. At first Victor agreed, but later he realised it was wrong and he stopped. The monster threatened that something bad would happen on Victor’s wedding day, if he did not complete the work .
Victor was going to marry Elizabeth but on their wedding night the creature killed her in excuse that if he can`t have a partner, then his creator can`t. Victor swore vengeance and he started to follow the creature in order to kill him. The creature escaped to the North Pole and that’s how Victor got to the vessel . Victor got very ill and eventually he died.
I quite liked the novel , altough it was hard to read. It’s a tragic and a sad book about a creature who had no purpose in life. The book was suggested to me by my brother, who had the oppurtunity to listen it in audio version. I would recommend it to everybody who enjoys science fiction and tragic books .

them he was piercing the monster's heart with his long knife. Then, after killing his pray, the man dropped the disgusting body and cleaned his sword. Heartless wanted to run away, but she knew that this man, probably not even human, was much faster and stronger than her. That's why she just stood there and watched the youth's moves. Finally, when he had cleaned his sword, he started to search something. Soon he found it, because he took from the nearby ground a large book and started reading it. In the meanwhile the monster, whom he thought was dead, started moving and stood up. She (or even it) saw the enemy and rushed towards him. The man seemed not to be noticing her, so Heartless decided to save the man from the horrible death this beast wanted to cause. There was a bloodstained sword lying before her, so she took it from the ground and held it like the man had. She didn't know anything of her past

He is fascinated with outcasts, the alienated, the outsiders, people who have been beated with life, the descenters-those who don't agree with the majority are the descenters, they are interested in those people. The book follows the lives of nine characters. All aspects of the lives are represented to us, the rich are corrupt, the poor may be not so corrupt, decent, but they can accomplish nothing because they are poor. The unjust triumph and the whole trilogy ends with a memorable sketch of a young harmless hitchhiker who wants to catch a car on a highway that leads nowhere.
