Film Club. I would like propose the ideas to enhance the Film Club to not to lose the funding. I will try to change your mind by bringing out folowing reasons. Firstly, Film Club evenings take plave on Fridays 6-10 pm. Usually films are in English and quiz evenings about films are always very popular. Students like to relax and communicate with each other, it is also popular because watching films is not too physically demanding. Secondly, there are some problems but Film Club team is trying to solve them. The biggest problem is lack of money and because of that we would like to raise the entry fee. In addition to money problems DVD library films are all from ancient times and this collection has not been renewed since 1995. We are discussing about throwing a Film Fair, where people could donate nowadays films to us. Finally, last month 15 new members joined our club and to increase the

Name: Chlen Zhopov Subject: Essay Are men better directors than women ? It is common that top executives in big companies are mostly men. But does that necessarily mean that women are not suitable for such responsible, effort and leadership demanding jobs? I do not think so. First of all, I would like to say that this tradition is coming not only from history, but from evolution. In nature, masculine representatives of most species are stronger, more agile and aggressive than feminine representatives, because their biological function is to be the main breadwinners and defenders of their families, while females' main functions are to distribute that bread within the family, raise, feed and look after the progeny
It is important to remember that no university is good at everything and has particular areas they specialize in. The more time and effort one puts into the process of research, the bigger the chance of picking the right school. It is crucial to make the right judgments considering one's academics and abilities, too. The students should evaluate their skills and talents objectively and not over- or underestimate themselves. There are schools that are known to be more demanding than others. Although the choice of university can be tough even with a lot of research, it is always possible to ask for assistance from parents, teachers or guidance counselors. The Internet is also very helpful. In spite of all that, no one else can make that decision for oneself. It is a huge commitment and needs a lot of focus. Choosing the right higher educational institution can be a tough call to make, but through a thorough process, it is possible

Male tigers also don't like being followed and they fight for their territory in order to mate several females. In fact male tigers are a huge danger to young cubs and one of their main enemies. Females also fight for territory but they do it so as to have more food. Mother tiger can track her cubs by scent. She gives her offspring killing lessons in a form of games because playing is a crucial part of survival. Cubs also grow fast and they need regular food. Raising cubs is very demanding. There is also a tiger police in this National Park. The aim of this police is to protect tigers from poachers. Locals respect tigers and they see them as the guardians of the forest. Female tiger's cubs grow fast and they are old enough to eat meat. At the moment it is not a problem because there is plenty of food because it is deer mating season and the deer are less alert to danger. This makes them easy targets but water and deer also attract wild dogs. Wild

Weather forecast. Millions of people tune into the weather forecast each evening on television. Most of them imagine that the presenter does little more than arrive at the studio a few minutes before the broadcast, read the weather, and then go home. In fact, this image is far from the truth. The two-minute bulletin which we all rely on when we need to know tomorrow's weather is the result of a hard day's work by the presenter, who is actually a highly-qualified meteorologist. Every morning after arriving at the TV studios, the first task of the day is to collect the latest data from the National Meteorological Office. This office provides up-to-the-minute information about weather conditions throughout the day, both in Britain and around the world. The information is very detailed and includes predictions, satellite and radar pictures, as well as more technical data. After gathering all the ...
Secondly, the Victorian era is known for the enlargement of the Empire, revolutions in industry, science, education and Queen Victoria was the symbol for this period. During Queen Victoria’s reign the British Empire’s expansion reached it’s peak. Britain had large colonies on every continent, Queen Victoria also held the title of „Empress of India“. Moreover, the Industrial Revolution took place in the 19th century, the new technology made work physically less demanding and much faster. The revolution showed that Britain was technologically more advanced than other countries. What is more, science took a great step forward, Darwin introduced the theory of evolution that contradicted what the Church had been built up on. Primary education also became mandatory and the government helped pay for schooling, giving the lower-class the opportunity to get basic education. Queen Victoria
improvisation. For Chaplin, the best way to locate the humor or pathos of a situation was to create an environment and walk around it until something natural happened. The concern of early theater and film was to simply keep the audience's attention through overdramatic acting that exaggerated emotions, but Chaplin saw in film an opportunity to control the environment enough to allow subtlety to come through. Chaplin was known as one of the most demanding men in Hollywood. Regardless of the size the part, Chaplin walked each actor through every scene. Chaplin knew that a successful scene was not simply about the star, but about everyone on the screen. He demanded that the entire cast work together in every performance. Without this unity he could not express the subtlety of character that was so important to him. The only way to achieve that unity was to maintain complete control over every scene. This constant attention to detail ran many

abandoned children, the physically and mentally sick, the disabled, the elderly and unmarried mothers. The idea of workhouses was kind of good, but in reality, there were several problems with them. The government, terrified of encouraging 'idlers' (lazy people), made sure that people feared the workhouse and would do anything to keep out of it. The problems included poor education system for children(teachers uninspired and low paid, children weren't taught reading and writing), physically demanding jobs(breaking rocks and so on; very detrimental to health) and long, 10-hour workdays; women, children and men had different living and working areas in the workhouse, so families were split up. To make things even worse they could be punished if they even tried to speak to one another! The food was tasteless and the same day after day. Children could also find themselves 'hired out' (sold) to work in factories or mines. At the end of 19th century, people started realizing that

limitations for a below grade structure will remain. In addition, it has been envisioned that jointly required facilities would be available for all organizations to use on a shared basis, utilizing movable walls for privacy. In utilizing the Northern Pointe site, it is initially assumed that the envisioned facilities would be largely accommodated below grade, and that above grade structures would be intended to accommodate those functions demanding particular visibility and identity, such as a community recreation center. It is very possible that significant heating and cooling economies would be achieved by virtue of underground construction and the application of appropriate solar collection techniques. The southern face of proposed structures along Grant Road offer optimum orientation for collection of solar energy. Additionally, natural illumination of below grade spaces would significantly improve
wholeheartedly agree. Norman, quite interestingly, goes as far as to absolve some designers of their sins, at least partially, demonstrating a great deal of common sense in doing so. The fault is often with the industry, with the society and with the unbending bureaucracy and inertia of the whole civilized mechanism - those are the reasons why feedback chain is virtually non-existent as new generations of product are already under development when the previous ones hit the shelves, people demanding new trinkets ASAP and having a tendency to overestimate the value of multitude of functions, dated standards that are too costly to change and the right time to do so never seems to arrive... DOET is certainly not lacking in examples and in providing those Norman went the path he is promoting - he focused on users: himself, his colleagues, his friends and his students all contributed numerous examples of their struggles and comic encounters with everyday objects.

Spain, Czech Republic, Malta... Regardless of how big and powerful, prosperity and stability are the most important reasons. There is nothing strange in Turkey's aspiration for membership. However, Turkey offers a remarkable difference than other members. Turkey has certain qualities that no other member has. It does have material expectations from the EU, on the other hand, it has so much to offer to European civilization that other members cannot offer. Turkey is not only a ,,demanding" party vis-à-vis the EU. It also wants to contribute. It has the features that can ease Europe, on the verge of yet another edge, to leap to the next stage. In this respect, Turkey has a request from the EU not just for itself but also for the future of Europe and the whole world. In a sense, Turkey says ,,if you want an easier shift, we have to stick together". (Laciner, S., Özcan, M. & Ihsan, B., 2005) This statement might sound too naive and idealistic

century. It should be kept in mind, however, that the Moravian movement never involved more than a fraction of the Estonian peasantry, and its regional penetration varied greatly. The latter took issue with the unregulated legislation between the Moravian congregation and the church. After the initial widespread awakening movement, manifesting several religious and social- revolutionary extremes (e.g. ecstatic sermons at meetings in Saaremaa and Võrumaa, in southeast Estonia, demanding Christian equality between peasants and landlords), from 1743 the Moravian congregation was officially forbidden for a long time. Enlightenment and enlightened absolutism After Pietism and the Moravian movement, the next spiritual trend to arrive in Estonia was the Enlightenment. Its ideas were propagated in the Baltic provinces by the German Enlightenment movement which sought support from absolutism and relied heavily on the Protestant church

Red tops- tabloid newspapers in Britain tend to be simply and sensationally written, and to give more prominence than broadsheets to celebrities, sports, crime stories and even hoaxes; they also less subtly take a political position on news stories, ridiculing politicians, demanding resignations and predicting election results. The term "red tops" refers to tabloids with red nameplates, such as The Sun, the Daily Star, the Daily Mirror, the Daily Record and the Daily Sport,[1] and distinguishes them from the Daily Express and Daily Mail, which are considered "middle market"tabloids. Red top newspapers are usually simpler in writing style, dominated by pictures, and directed at the more sensational end of the market. 29

This was the beginning of the party system in Britain. Today, the Liberals are the “descendants” of the Whigs and the Conservatives of the Tories. 20. The state opening of Parliament. It is a traditional ceremony which reminds MPs of their special status and of their togetherness. At first the “Black Rod”, a servant of the Queen, is knocking on the door of the House of Commons and demanding that the MPs let the Queen come in and tell them what “her” government is going to do in the coming year. However, the Commons refuses her entry. In the 17th century, Charles I once burst in and tried to arrest some MPs. Ever since then, the monarch has not been allowed to enter the Commons. Instead, the MPs agree to come through to the House of Lords and listen to the monarch there. By tradition, they always come through in pairs, each pair

And so on. We fall in an infinite regress. This is an important philosophical problem that we are not going to discuss! In practice, we often appeal to argumentative strategies so that our claims will be accepted without demanding further justification: 1. Assuring 2. Guarding 3. Discounting These strategies are often helpful in argumentation but they should be used with caution. Syllogisms Arguments we discussed are far were mostly formed by 2 premises and 1 conclusion and contained 3 terms. All Birds are Animals All Swans are Birds Therefore, All Swans are Animals The Middle Term (Birds) appears in both premises but not in the conclusion. Such arguments are called Syllogisms.
SUMMARY Nanotechnological Inventions in Patent Law: Challenges and Solutions Nanotechnology is one of the most society-embracing technologies during the last decade. Its discoveries shift development of science revolutionary, giving opportunity to make us all healthy and wealthy, ending myriad diseases and even old age. Nanotechnology is bottom-up: aggregating individual atoms and molecules to make a desired object. It is known as the fastest developing field, demanding billons dollars of investments into growth. The study was divided into three sections, in first part author explored the term of nanotechnology, patenting in Europe and United States, also approaching in patent law etc. Next sections analyzed the problems of patenting nanotechnology, mainly regarding research area originality and into practice reaching patent law bottlenecks. In third part author tried to ascertain potential solutions how to accommodate nanotechnology into current patent
The first version of the libretto was also written by Lemba. The first performance of this romantic drama took place in the Pavlovo Hall, organised and staged on the initiative of the Estonian Women’s Society, in 1906. 2 The plot and libretto was not to the liking of the Estonian audience. The Estonian poetess Anna Haava (1864-1957) reshaped it into poetic form under the title The Daughter of Lembitu 1 Editor’s note: both were popular light romantic pieces rather than challenging pieces demanding the attention of the audience. 2 Exact date unknown. (Lembitu was a 13th-century Estonian leader and freedom fighter against the Livonian Brothers of the Sword). The two-act opera begins with a spring morning scene, maidens are singing, and Aino the daughter of Lembitu appears. A young Estonian Meelis expresses his love for Aino but she declines him, in her aria she appeals to the spirit of her ancestors for strength. In the second act the historical Battle of St
enough to adhere to Article 12. He contends that listening to children and taking their views into account must be respected and taken seriously.23 Moreover, the outrage to the explicit criticism also demonstrated that children`s rights are predominantly viewed with some hostility in the UK, where Article 12 in particular has created considerable resentment as children are predominantly stereotyped as being innocent/vulnerable or `aggressive, demanding and badly behaving adolescents out of control of their parents and teachers and lacking the willingness or capacity to accept the responsibilities that should accompany with the granting of rights`. 24 There is a clear tension between the commonly held assumptions of children on the one hand, as welfare dependants, needy for protection and care of adults, and on the other hand, as young citizens entitled to
...........................................................................................................93 APPENDIX 1: CRUSELL BRIDGE CASE STUDY .........................................................................97 6 CHAPTER 1- INTRODUCTION Over time the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry has become more complex and demanding. Clients are no longer expecting only to meet schedule, cost and quality objectives but also to guarantee safety, human satisfaction and minimal negative environmental impact (Vanegas, DuBose and Pearce 1996). Traditional construction project delivery methods and models have failed to satisfy the expectations of both contractors and clients. The main problems and their causes are analysed in the second chapter of this thesis. Thus people in the AEC industry, including scholars and

with me." "Usually there would be a team, right?" "Yes, we'd present as a group. But they're familiar with the drill-they know they'll get the pitch from a senior executive, then end up working with a junior like me-so they picked me out and now they want to vet me. But to be fair, the RFP provides a lot more information than it asks for in return. It's as good as a brief, so I really can't accuse them of being unreasonably demanding, just meticulous. Par for the course when dealing with Cross Industries." He ran a hand over his tight curls, betraying the pressure he felt. "What do you think of Kingsman vodka?" "Uh...well...Honestly, I've never heard of it." Mark fell back in his chair and laughed. "Thank God. I thought I was the only one. Well, the plus side is there's no bad press to get over. No news can be good news." "What can I do to help? Besides research vodka and stay late?"
name!" over and over. Each is in a state of fully activated belief in the truth of this dubious assertion, and each knows that the other is; so neither can be said to have the intention of either producing or activating belief in the other. Yet surely they mean by their utterance that proper names only name; it is not a nonsense chant. Further moves are available here,6 but I shall drop objection 2 at this point. The first two objections were intended to show that Grice's analysis is too demanding. The next two are to the effect that in other respects the analysis is not demanding enough. Objection 3 On being inducted into the army, George is compelled to take a test designed to establish sanity. George is known to be an irritable academic. The test he is being given would be appropriate for morons. One of the questions asked is: "What would you say if you were asked to identify yourself?" George replies to the officer asking the question by uttering
In the wreck, a propeller blade sliced into Ent's back, severing his spine and rendering him a para- plegic. Watson (1990) described the copilot's explanation for his action: When I took the copilot's testimony, I asked him, "lfyou knew the plane wasn't going to jly, why did you put the gear up?" He said, "I thought the general wanted me to." He was stupid. (p. 117) Stupid? In that singular set of circumstances, yes. Understandable? In the shortcut- demanding maze of modern life, also yes. The Profiteers It is odd that despite their current widespread use and looming future importance, most of us know very little about our automatic behavior patterns. Perhaps that is so precisely because of the mechanistic, unthinking manner in which they occur. Whatever the reason, it is vital that we clearly recognize one of their properties. They make us terribly vulnerable to anyone who does know how they work.
