Eumelanin gives the blacks, browns and blues while phaeomelanin gives the reds, fawns and creams. A few other genes give further variations on those colours such silvers, colourpoints and solids/selfs. Mutations continue to occur and unexpected colours also turn up due to inbreeding where recessive genes, hidden for generations, start showing up. AMBER AND LIGHT AMBER During the 1990s, some purebred Norwegian Forest Cats in Sweden produced chocolate/lilac and cinnamon/fawn offspring. However, those colours are not found in the purebred Norwegian Forest Cat gene pool. Had the gene pool become polluted by someone, perhaps generations ago, breeding their Norwegian Forest Cat to another breed? Was it a spontaneous mutation? Crossing of those cats with known chocolate and cinnamon colour cats of other breeds ruled out chocolate/lilac and cinnamon/fawn genes. These cats were a totally new

Cheetah

They then burst into a chase that lasts about 20 seconds. The cheetah successfully catches its prey in about half of the chases. Cheetahs prefer grasslands where they have plenty of room to chase and capture their prey. They once roamed in most of the open area of Africa, in the grasslands of India, southern Russia, Iran, and Pakistan. Today, however, most cheetahs are found natively only in eastern and southern Africa. In fact, almost all are raised on commercial farms. Of all the big cats, cheetahs have the least strength. As a result, cheetah cubs are killed by larger predators like the lion and hyena. Up to 80% of the cubs are killed by lions. The cheetah compensates for this by having many offspring. For the cubs that survive, the life span is up to 12 years. Female cheetahs typically live alone and are not territorial. Males form coalitions of 2 to 4 members. This helps them defend territories for hunting and mating. Fierce fights

It is only knowledge produced with difficulty that we truly value. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

been shared with us and which we’ve obtained from first hand experiences. These are beliefs that we live by and expect other people to live by for harmonious cohabitation. Our ethical knowledge often times become less valuable when two similar held beliefs start to contradict each other. As said before, we are taught to treat animals with kindness. Except it only applies when it comes to certain animals - those that we consider pets. Cats and dogs generally live good lives, with their loving families. However, it’s common for the families who clearly believe that animals deserve a good life, to sit down and eat the body parts of animals other than cats and dogs. Even though it’s relatively easy for us to come to ethical conclusions, we still value them because the choices we make are what determine our survival, well-being and happiness.

Australia

stations cover one-quarter of Australia. The meat from Australian cattle is sold to countries all over the world. Most of its workers do not work in factories or on farms. Two-thirds of them work in shops, offices, banks or schools. Animals, birds and plants. A strange thing happened when ocean blocked off this island continent. Appearently none of the mammals that survived in Australia were of the sort that later changed into the familliar mammals of the rest of the world. The ancestors of cats and tigers, of wolves and dogs, of elephants and sheep just were not there. As a result, the reptilelike mammals that have died out everywhere else in the world are alive in Australia. The higher groups of mammals that developed in the rest of the world after Australia was cut off had to be brought there millions of years later by the colonists. Australia is,in fact, a continent-sized museum of ancient animals, modernised along certain lines by their own separate evolution

Australia topic

From the middle of the 19th century no convicts were brought from Britain to Australia. Wildlife Australia is the only continent on earth where marsupials live; they are also known as pouched mammals and egg-lying mammals. Ordinary mammals live also in Australia and these mammals are mostly imported there. Marsupials are kangaroos, wombats, koalas, Tasmanian wolves and Tasmanian devils. Their cubs are born before they are fully developed. Today marsupials are dying out, cause cats and dogs and rabbits, who were exported to Australia many, many years ago, are destroying the gentler marsupials. There is only one marsupial still alive in the USA today- the opossum. But there are also very strange kind of animals, they have hair, like dogs and cats but they also lay eggs- these are the spiny anteater and the platypus. They are only found in Australia and nowhere else in the world and they are

Senate and the House of Representatives. Prince Charles has said that Australians should be able to have a Republic if they want one. Animals and plants. Sixty million years ago Australia and its nearby islands were separated from the other world by a great upheaval. They were cut off from Asia by the ocean. Almost no animals visited Australia before English colonists began to settle there. Now a strange thing happened when the ocean blocked off this island continent. The ancestors of cats and tigers, of dogs and wolves, of elephant and sheep just were not there. As a result, the reptile like mammals that have died out everywhere else in the world are very much alive in Australia. Australia is, in fact, a continent-sized museum of ancient animals, modernized along certain lines by their own separate evolution. Two of the strangest animals in the world the spiny anteater and the platypus, only live in Australia. They are reptile-mammals
