make flight difficult or impossible, but none is wingless. The best-known bee species is the European honey bee, which, as its name suggests, produces honey, as do a few other types of bee. Human management of this species is known as beekeeping or apiculture. Despite the honey bee's painful sting and the stereotype of insects as pests, bees are generally held in high regard. This is most likely due to their usefulness as pollinators and as producers of honey, their social nature, and their reputation for diligence. Bees are one of the few insects regularly used on advertisements, being used to illustrate honey and foods made with honey (such as Honey Nut Cheerios).

Computerised world – a better or a worse place to live in ?

Computerised world – a better or a worse place to live in ? Although computers are said to be one of the most successful inventions there are many people who do not totally agree with that saying. Computers are able to do everything that make our life easier, but why are there still so many different opinions about ones' usefulness? The positive side of having computers in our life is how much it actually changes our life and makes it easier. There are no problems, I mean literally no problems that computers could not do. Computers are used to find information, read news, study, and some even play computer games. But to be exact, computer is not only that small box that stays under our desks or the lap-tops that are well known today. Computers are everything automatic that surround us, for example nowadays

The Internet - a blessing or a curse?

The Internet is used for many different reasons. We use it every day for nearly everything. It would be impossible to live without it. But why do we need it so much and why do we spend hours of our day surfing the web? The Internet is definitely a very useful place: we can look up everything; from a chocolate cake recipe to a tutorial on how to change a car tire. It can make your schoolwork or other work related things much easier and can save you a lot of valuable time. Also, when you have access to the Internet, you always know what is going on. You can find out about a flood in Bangladesh within minutes of it happening. The purpose of the Internet has drastically changed over the years. Originally, just a massive global encyclopaedia, the possibilities of the Internet now have become endless. It has also become a social network, connecting you to people from every corner of the world, instantly. It has replaced live, face-to-face c...

Summary

The use of drones brings back to the subject of intent and “kill lists”. Therefrom, people are questioning its morality. Naturally, it is vital to put a lot of effort in identifying the civilians from the combatants and protecting them. This is the moral responsibility that needs to be taken into account when targeting extremists. (Beautmont, 2012) Using drones when fighting a war is proven to be strategically beneficial and more humane than its alternatives. However, when analysing their usefulness in war, we also need to take into account the long-term implications of widespread psychological warfare. (Owen, 2013) To summarise, using drones may not be desirable, as well as any other way of killing. Still, I think it is the best option at the tribal areas. (527 words) Bibliography Beautmont, P. (2012, August 19). Are drones any more immoral than other weapons of war?

Market and marketing

Now, production is carried on in large quantity. The manufacturers produce more than what people need. Market has developed form national to international. Competition is the order of the day. Businessman have started realizing that earing profit is possible only through the consumer’s satisfaction. Thirdly, modern marketing begins before production: earlier there was less competition and as such sales were easily made. But now this stage has changed. The consumer looks for the usefulness and acceptability of product. As such it has become necessary to find out the needs and desires of costumers through market research. The information from the market or the costumer will decide the future of the product. Finally, modern marketing is a guiding element: At present competition, has increased because many manufactures produce similar goods in large quantities. work. Knowledge is the combination of facts, information, and/or skills that when put together create a whole picture enabling us to fully understand a subject or situation. We, as ordinary people, can acquire knowledge either from our first hand experiences (personal knowledge) or from education and research (shared knowledge). Difficulty depends on how much effort or skill must be implemented for the information to be acquired, and the value of something lies in it's importance, usefulness or worth. We all value different things in our life, we are more likely to value things that benefit us and, thus, not really value the things that are of no benefit to us. If it’s only knowledge produced with difficulty that we truly value then how do we value knowledge that is easily produced? How could knowledge that is produced with difficulty be of little value to us? These knowledge questions will be addressed using examples from the different areas of

imagery as a semiotic process occurring in an interactive social environment that leads to pictorial behaviors that may engage single or multiple modalities of expression. This framework acknowledges psychobiological factors that found development of pictorial activity while emphasizing the role of culture in validating or deselecting specific pictorial systems. It constitutes an attempt to decolonize discourse about artistic development by pointing to the usefulness and value of pictorial repertoires that have remained outside of the acclaim of the Western art world and yet play a significant role in children's lives (Kindler, 1999). In addition to highlighting the dimension of pictorial choices and their relationship to specific purposes of pictorial behavior, the model proposed by Darras and Kindler recognizes frequent interplay of the gestural , vocal -verbal, and graphic actions in the emergence and development of pictorial systems

defined by the mean squared error, timeliness as defined by availability at the time it is needed, and accessibility, that is the data should be accessible to those for whom the survey was conducted. There are many stages in designing a survey and each influences survey quality. Deming (1944) already gave an early warning of the complexity of the task facing the survey designer, when he listed no less than thirteen factors that affect the ultimate usefulness of a survey. Among those ar the relatively well understood effects of sampling variability, but also more difficult to measure effects. Deming incorporates effects of the interviewer, method of data collection, nonresponse, questionnaire imperfections, processing errors and errors of interpretation. Other authors (e.g., Kish, 1965, see also Groves, 1989) basically classify threats to survey quality in two main categories, for instance differentiating between errors of nonobservation (e.g

he also described Chinese fauna. "Sum Xu" was the Portuguese rendering of songshu, meaning "pine rat". Though Boym's illustration resembles a squirrel, the description indicates the Yellow Throated Marten (Martes flavigula) found in the region. Boym wrote that the Sumxu was a pretty yellow-and-black animal that was commonly tamed and wore a silver collar. They were valued as hunters of mice and sold for up to 9 silver coins (indicating their usefulness or rarity). The cat-like Sumxu was described in early 1700s as a curiosity, and in 1796 when a droop- eared cat brought back from China. But how did the Sumxu name end up attached to a variety of cat? This engraving is from German Jesuit Athanasius Kircher's book "China Monumentis, Qua Sacris qua Profanis" (1666). The book is written in Latin and describes the Sumxu as being like a cat. The engravings would have been done from descriptions or rough sketches rather than from life

Christopher Vogler The Writers Journey

T h e Hero's Journey, I discovered, is more than just a description of the hid den patterns of mythology. It is a useful guide to life, especially the writer's life. In the perilous adventure of my own writing, I found the stages o f the Hero's Journey showing up just as reliably and usefully as they d i d in books, myths, and movies. In my personal life, I was thankful to have this map to guide my quest and help me anticipate what was around the next bend. T h e usefulness of the Hero's Journey as a guide to life was brought home forcefully when I first prepared to speak publicly about it in a large seminar at U C L A . A couple of weeks before the seminar two articles appeared in the Los Angeles Herald-Examiner, in which a film critic attacked filmmaker George Lucas and his movie Willow. Somehow the critic h a d got h o l d o f the "Practical G u i d e " and claimed it had deeply influenced and corrupted H o l l y w o o d storytellers. T h e
