Home reading ( magazine article ) : 1. " Government fails to serve up free school meals for all " from http://www.timesonline.co.uk 2. The article is about Scottish government who has failed to achieve it's goal of extending free school meals to all children in the first three years of education. This healthy meal serving is now extended because of the tight public finances caused by the economic slump. There's mentioned that at the moment government can only offer a healthy lunch for 20% of the pupils in Scotland. 3. This topic is interesting because now I can compare my school lunch with Scottish meals. Here we have it for free until the end of the primary school. It's also interesting to read how are they handling with this economic crisis. 4. reluctance vastumeelsus, magnetiline takistus provision säte, lepingutingimus acute, akuutne, terav 5. Proposal I think our school lunch breakbrake system has gone out of control. There are too many people eating at the same time and canteen workers have to rush all the time, because everyone has to have food on their table. Many people have already stopped eating in the canteen and are buying snacks, hamburgers and Ffrench fries, which has a negative effect on pupils weight and healthiness. School should be the first place for students, where to go eating. We have to wait in the line for 10
Meals and Cooking When we cook, we boil, roast, fry or stew our food. We boil eggs, meat, chicken, fish, milk, water and vegetables. We fry eggs, fish and vegetables. We stew fish, meat, vegetables or fruit. We roast meat or chicken. We put salt, sugar, pepper, vinegar and mustard into our food to make it salted, sweet, sour or simply tasty. Our food may taste good or bad or it may be tasteless. The usual meals in England are breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner or, in simpler houses, breakfast, dinner, tea and supper. For breakfast English people mostly have porridge or cornflakes with milk or cream and sugar, bacon and eggs, marmalade with buttered toast and tea or coffee. For a change they can have a boiled egg, cold ham, or fish. English people generally have lunch about one o'clock. At lunch time in a London restaurant one

But my huge affection is penguins. That's why I'm going to see how they are doing, after I have finished my coffee. I'll check how many of them are on the ice and does they have their food. We try to interrupt penguins as less as possible. That's why they look themselves the food and place to stay. Mostly they eat fishes and squids. After those duties with them are done, It's almost afternoon. Then I crab some lunch and chat with some other scientists. We are making quite progress in exploring penguins. After my lunch I go to see them again. I watch their actions and habits and write everything down. In the evening I try to write for my research. After that I go to sleep to wake up again in the new morning and all this starts over.
To: Penelope MacSparron, head teacher From: Mari Mets, student Subject: Suggested improvements to school Date: 1 Decembre 2009 Purpose The purpose of this report is to comment conditions in the school and to make recommendations for possible improvements. The survey has been conducted among our class students. Canteen Firstly, the canteen`s food prices are too low and service is very slow. It would be a good idea to mark down the price of food and to put meals on the table before lunch break. As result service would be faster and more students could afford eating school lunch . Library Furthermore, the majority of the students (56%) are not agreed with library opening hours and range of books. By buying more books and changing library opening hours, we could solve the problem. Teachers` teaching styles Last, the minority of our class students (22%) do not like the teachers` teaching styles. Teachers should explain more clearly what they exactly want from students

The aim of this report is to assess the positive and the negative parts of Marco´s restaurant and suggest some changes. Food and prices Despite the fact that there is not a wide variety of dishes to choose from, the food is well-cooked and looks beautiful. The prices of food are resonable. What is more the drinks were cheap. Service The staff was friendly and helpful they can make very helpful suggestions about the menu. However, the service is a bit slow at times, especially at the lunch hours. Atmosphere The restaurant has a friendly relaxed atmosphere. You can not help but be in a good mood while you are there, because of the cheerful music. However the music is too loud sometimes, so you cant hear the waitresses. Although the lihgting is a bit poor, so it is difficult to read the menu. Conclusion In conclusion, althouhg the music can be loud and the service might be slow or that the lighting is poor, Marco´s is a perfect place to go and have your lunch,

Yours faithfully, Introduction This report looks at the dietary habits of twenty students in their final year at Freedonian Secondary School. The report is based on the students' responses to the questionnaire administered by the school's doctor. Meals The survey have revealed that the students do not have enough meals. Only eight of those questioned eat before school, and half of them have their midday meal at school. Worryingly, as few as four students have both breakfast and school lunch. Still more disturbing is the fact that an alarming proportion--approximately onethird--of the students have neither. Eating brown bread Interestingly enough, bread, a good source of fiber, enjoys popularity among young people. 75 per cent of the students surveyed eat three or more slices of brown bread per day, with only a quarter of respondents restricting themselves to one or two slices. Eating fat As regards fat consumption, the majority of the students eat margarine

outside from the island can stay while studying in school. The campuses are always full. The campuses have also the hotel/hostel side, where students have their own bathroom in the room. Others, who don,t need to go downstairs for shower or bathroom. We also have a restaurant which is led by our teachers and where the students of such work and cook. Beside that, we also have 2 canteens, where every student is given 20 kroons per day for lunch. My day starts off at 8.30, normally we have an 1.5 hour lesson painting, ceramics or so. After that we often have a lunch break which is sometimes eaven up to 1hour. After the lunch break we go to a few more lessons. My day ends up at about 16.00-17.00. For the lessons being so long we actually don't have a lot of home work. Often we stay at the Décor to some together, just because it is more fun to do it together with someone

Dear Sir or Madam, I am interested about your Creative Writing Summer Workshop and I am writing to you in order to ask some additional information about advertisement which I found on the Internet. I am going to spend a mont in Englad and would like to take part in summer course there. I would like to know which days of July your workshop takes and how many hours in one day? If I am beginner is it for me? What is the class size? Do you have some cafe there for lunch break? What that price contains? Do I have to do some homework? I can be contacted by telephone on +3725694265 or by email at [email protected]. I am looking forward to you answer. Yours Faithfully, Mari Mets
Some people prefer working at home to working in an office. This has its own advantages and disadvantages. First of all when you work at home you do not have to follow schedule every day you can wake up when you want, and finish work when you see fit. This allows you to spend more time with friends and family. Working at home helps to save money. You do not have to spend money on transportation every day and also for lunch. You can have home coocked meal which is always cheaper then eating out. On the other hand working at home can make you very lazy. Also at home you do not have enogh motivation to work, especially when there is something good coming on television. All in all i think that working at home is much better than working in an office because it has more advantages than disadvantages.
I wake up at seven, and head to the bathroom to take a shower and wash my teeth. Riietumine takes me approximately 5 minutes. At 7:20 I make myself breakfast and eat it. I exit my apartement at 7:45 sharp and head to the bus stop. The bus leaves at 7:51 and reaches the school at 8:00. I study at school for about 6 hours and have lunch between the second and third lesson in the school cafeteria. After school I go to the gym and work out for 2 hours and at 19:45 I rush to work for a night shift that ends at 5 o'clock in the morning. MY DAILY ROUTINE The first thing I do is that I wake up at 7 o'clock. Then, I have coffee for breakfast. I clean my teeth and I take a shower. After, I get dressed. Next, I go to work by bus, because I start at 8 o'clock. When I finish, I go home at half past twelve and the first thing that I do when I get home is have lunch at 1 o'clock. I always wash the dishes and clean the kitchen. I have a shower. Next, I do my homework son, I watch TV in the afternoon and I meet my friend at 6 o'clock. This is my favorite part of the day. I sometimes walk my dog before dinner and I usually study for the next day. After that, I listen to the radio or I watch the news. Finally, I have dinner at 9 PM and I go to bed at midnight.
I have heard that one school has its own drama class. Of course, state schools cannot afford such things like drama classes and swimming-pools. I am very happy because we have a stadion, a gym, and a finess studio. Secondly I would like to bring out free-of-charge textbooks, exercise books and free In conclusion, it is a very good choice to go to a state school. Firstly, there are no fees. Secondly, you will get a high quality aducation. Furthermore lunch in a state school. Our school food tastes as good as some expensive private school´s food. One important aspect is that private schools can afford all kinds of accessories and models. There are big physics and chemistry laboratories. Regrettably, there are no such things in our school. Private schools can afford to buy such things., if you have not satisfied, you can always go some where else to learn. There are many different ways to acquire education. In general,

Smoking should be banned in public places I think that everybody have his own opinion for smoking. The probleem is that we do not always realise when it disturbing others. First of all, I agree with the statement that smoking should be banned in public places. I think this will disturb every one who is not smoker, when someone smoking next to you when you enjoy your lunch. In my opinion, this is good idea for building smoking rooms, then we do not discriminate smokers who have tobacco addicts. On the other hand, there are many disadvantages of banning smoking in public places. Many people like smoke cigar, when they are drinking whisky, so they can not continue the tradition. Although some bars deny smoking inside and client have to do it outside. In conclusion, I would say that a large proportion of people are smokers and we have to consider with them

Could you also inform me if we are going to have lunch break? In the advertisement I could read only about other meals provided. Furthermore, I would like to know what the Workshop fee includes. Finally, I am interested whether you have homework and where I can find out more details. I look forward to hearing from you. Yours faithfully, Mari Mets
restaurant. Food and Prices Furthermore the meals are good value for money as the prices are quite reasonable. However the clients are complaining that there are not many dishes to choose from, so we need more meals. Service The staff are very friendly and and helpful and they are able to make helpful suggestions about the menu. However the service is a little short handed, It would be a good idea to hire extra people during the lunch and dinner time for rushes so that the service is always fast and efficient Atmosphere There is friendly relaxed atmosphere in our restaurant. . However the restaurant is old and not very clean. Conclusion Marco's is a fast food restaurant with reasonable prices. If you would consider changes I suggested, we could get more customers and bigger profit.

Pea soup and pancakes Many Sweden grow up eating pea soup and pancakes (ärtsoppa och pannkakor) on Thursdays. This tradition has been upheld by the Swedish Armed Forces since World War II. While its true origins are widely debated — from Catholics not eating meat on Fridays, this filling up on pea soup on Thursdays, to pea soup being very easy to prepare by maid servants who would work half-days on Thursdays — the tradition has well and truly stuck. Most traditional lunch restaurants serve pea soup and pancakes with lingonberry sauce or any kind of jam (sylt) on Thursdays. Crazy for crawfish Crawfish parties (kräftskivor) are popular in August, when warm summer evenings are spent feasting on these red bite-sized fresh-water crustaceans in gardens and on balconies all over Sweden. walk to Castle Bridge and get acquainted wiht the sights and then we will come back. We should return to London at 14.30, but the coach arrives at 14.45, then we can get on the island faster or we can wait for the next coach. It can also be decided locally. You asked me about vegetarian option. Of course we also offer vegetatrian food, but for this we would need a approximate list of several students, who want vegetarian food. Naturally everyone gets a three- course lunch, also vegetarians. Now answering your questions, I hope you will receive the answers to your questions. If there are still some questions or misunderstandings, you can contact me. Sincerely Karin Brit Liinsoo
