were Dutch fur traders who built a fort at Dutch point. It was situated where Hartford is situated today.
The first colony in Connecticut was crated by John Winthrop at the mouth of the Connecticut river.
It was one of the 3 colonies which later made up connecticut. The first English settlers created their settlements at Windsor and Wethersfield,
but the main body of settlers came from Massachusetts. They were led by Thomas Hooker who created the second colony.
The third colony, the New Haven colony was created by John Davenport and Theophilius Eaton. Those were the three colonies that formed Connecticut.
