They also have questions and answers section where hunting for cultural reasons or hunting for survival is deemed unjustifiable. Endangered Animals

protect endangered species is to protect the places they live in. In addition to this, wildlife must have a place to find food and shelter from the weather. Logging, oil and gas drilling, over-grazing and real estate development have all resulted in the destruction of these habitats, which must be minimized as much as possible. Another way to solve the problem is to stop buying products that are made from animal skin. The lack of demand would result in hunters being unable to continue their business. Finally, it is important to pay attention when driving. One of the problems in developed areas is that roads divide habitats, meaning they are a constant hazard to not only themselves, but to the people driving on those roads as well. So when you're out and about, slow down and keep an eye out for wildlife. In conclusion, I strongly believe that helping wildlife is necessary because if we don't do anything, nobody will.

Objectives 1 Greenpeace is perhaps best known for its campaigns to protect whales and other large aquatic animals from hunters and trappers. Greenpeace programs target multiple areas of ocean defense, centering primarily on pollution and unfair or abusive fishing practices. 2 Many electronics and other products contain toxic chemicals and heavy metals that are difficult to dispose of and impossible to recycle. Greenpeace studies the effects of these chemicals on water, air and the human body and advocates substituting safer alternatives for dangerous materials.

"Wild animals in danger". Ettekanne inglis keeles.

And what has taken the place of these green, natural places? Houses, farms, cities, streets, roads and factories. Because of this (and pollution, too) several species are dying all over the world. In addition , if one animal, bird or insect disappears, all the others suffer too. And all living beings belong to the circle of life. And when one link is missing, the circle of life can´t function normally. A further problem is hunting. Man has always been a hunter. He still is. But many modern hunters don't just kill for food - they kill for profit. And that´s wrong ! There are, however some solutions. We should make more laws, that protect the animals in danger. Open more national parks, building fewer new roads, planting more new forests and cutting pollution. These are things, that everyone can help with, if they wanted to. In conclusion, it can be said that although human activities damage and pollute the environment

Whale

Baleen whales usually travel alone or in small pods. These enormous animals eat about 4 tons of tiny krill each day, obtained by filter feeding through baleen. Adult blue whales have no predators except man. Their food ranges from microscopic plankton to very large animals. Some whale species like Orchas ( who are called ,, killer whales") may eat their friends, family- other whales. Some species of large whales are listed as endangered, because of the hunters. They have been hunted commercially for whale oil, meat and baleen since the 17th century. Current whaling nations are Norway, Iceland and Japan and the aboriginal communities of Siberia, Alaska and northern Canada. In the 1900's , over 2 million whales were slaughtered. Many environmental organisations are working hard now to preserve and propagate the valuable whales we have remaining in waters all over the world.

US History: Native Americans and the first settlements

Native Americans Origin of Native Americans Nearly one-third of Native American genes come from west Eurasian people linked to the Middle East and Europe, rather than entirely from East Asians as previously thought, according to a newly sequenced genome. Native peoples of North and South America descended from ancestors who arrived via land bridges from East Asia, possibly in a single migration. Different tribes and their way of life The men were hunters, warriors, and protectors, while the women tended to the children, their homes, and farmed. It depended on the tribe when it came to artwork. In some tribes, the men would actually weave baskets and blankets. Natural foods were consumed and hunted. Deer, buffalo, fish, and various birds were the game of choice. Corn, beans, squash, berries, nuts, and melons were the fruits and vegetables that were consumed. Berries were also often used as a natural dye for fabrics.

Deforestation means, when trees are often cut down, to produce furniture or something else. When the trees are cut down, animals have no place to live or hide themselves from the hunters, so many of them become extinct. Trees, including forests play an important part of the air, that we breathe, cause they produce oxygen, so the less trees and plants, the less oxygen. But there are often held planting campaigns, where people plant their own tree and during a few years, the trees are high enough, to form a new part of the forest. But still new trees will be cut down again, thankfully governments make sometimes laws to control deforestation. Some forests are

The total land mass is almost 8,000 sq. km. Highest peak is Wolf Volcano reaching 1707m. The present islands are all younger than 4 million years and were formed separately from other land masses as a result of volcanic eruptions. The Galapagos were discovered in 1535 by Fray Toms de Berlanga, the Bishop of Panama. He was sailing from Panama to Peru when he accidentally discovered the islands. Islands became a favorite hideout for Pirates and the favorite location for whale hunters. After whales were locally cleared the whalers went there for tortoises, an estimated 200 000 or more adults had been removed. The island of Floreana was populated with a group of convicts' in October 1832. Charls Darwin visited the island in 1835, he spent there 5 weeks. Nowadays five of the islands are populated with about 40 000 inhabitants. The name Island of Galapagos means island of tortoises. The Tasmanian devil is the only native carnivore that lives on the Australian island of Tasmania. The Tasmanian devil is about one metre long and it is usually black. The Tasmanian tiger (often also known as the Tasmanian wolf) also lived on Tasmania a hundred years ago. It had stripes on its back like a tiger. It was more than 1.5 metres long. Scientists believe that hunters killed all of them at the beginning of the 20th century. Prehistory, Saxon invasion and Celtic Kingdoms

. Britain became an island only 5000 years BC after the Ice Age ended. Britain's prehistory The first evidence of human life on the island are dated back to 250 000 BC. 50 000 BC in a milder Ice Age period Britain became habitable again. People from that time were the ancestors of the modern British. 10 000 BC ige age ended and Britain became inhabited by small groups of hunters who probably followed herds of deer. 5000BC Britain became an island and deer died out. 3000BC the Neolithic people came (probably from Spanish peninsula or even North African coast). They may be the forefathers of the people from Cornwall and Wales. The building of Stonehenge started around that time. 2400BC the 'Beaker' people arrived in Britain. They had better metal working skills and they soon became the leaders of the British society. They started building individual graves

8. Natives Canada is a relatively young country whose recorded history goes back less than 500 years. When the European settlers arrived, Canada was already populated by a diverse range of aboriginal peoples, Indians and Inuit, who are thought to have arrived from Asia 10 3000 years ago by crossing a land bridge formed between Siberia and Alaska during the last ice age. It is believed that the ancestors of Canadian Inuit were inland hunters who adapted their lifestyle to new conditions. Some of them lived near the coast and began to hunt seals and walruses. Their main diet consisted of marine mammals and fish. Others never went to sea but hunted game in nearby areas. The traditional dwelling where the Inuit lived used to be an igloo, which is a domeshaped house built out of blocks of ice. The Inuit traveled in a sledge pulled by dogs and their main weapon was the harpoon.

CARIBOU, NETSILIK, COPPER and Western Arctic Inuit (who replaced the MACKENZIE INUIT). There are five main Inuit language dialects in Canada, Inuvialuktun, Inuinnaqtun, Inuttitut, Inuttitut, and Inuttut that are collectively known as Inuktitut or Inuttituut. (see NATIVE PEOPLE, LANGUAGES) In the last census 32 580 people or reported Inuktitut as their mother tongue (first language learned). Traditionally, the Inuit were hunters and gatherers who moved seasonally from one camp to another. Large regional groupings were loosely separated into smaller seasonal groups: winter camps (called "bands") of around 100 people and summer hunting groups of fewer than a dozen. Each band was roughly identified with a locale and named accordingly - eg, the Arvirtuurmiut of Boothia Peninsula were called "baleen whale-eating people." During roughly 4000 years of human history in the Arctic, the appearance of new people has

From the beginning The oldest evidence of human habitation in the Prague valley dates from 600, 000 BC, but more numerous clues were left by hunters during the last Ice Age, about 25, 000 years ago. Permanent communities were established around 4000 BC in the northwestern parts of Prague, and the area was inhabited continuously by various Germanic and Celtic tribes before the arrival of the Slavs. The name Bohemia came from a Celtic tribe called Boii, and is still used today for the western part of the Czech Republic. disillusionment in the war and his role as a deserter. Hemingway used his experiences as a reporter during the civil war in Spain as the background for his most ambitious novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls (1940). Among his later works, the most outstanding is the short novel, The Old Man and the Sea (1952), the story of an old fisherman's journey, his long and lonely struggle with a fish and the sea, and his victory in defeat. Hemingway - himself a great sportsman - liked to portray soldiers, hunters, bullfighters - tough, at times primitive people whose courage and honesty are set against the brutal ways of modern society, and who in this confrontation lose hope and faith. His straightforward prose, his spare dialogue, and his predilection for understatement are particularly effective in his short stories, some of which are collected in Men Without Women (1927) and The Fifth Column and the First Forty-Nine Stories (1938). Hemingway died in Idaho in 1961. Novels

...millions of of witches, sorcereres, possessed and obsessed were an enormous mass of severe neurotics [and] psychotics ... for many years the world looked like a veritable isane asylum.. But, in fact, the witch-craze was neither a lynching party nor a mass suicide by hysterical women. Rather, it followed well-ordered, legalistic procedures. The witch-hunts were well-organized campaigns, initiated, financed and executed by Church and State. To Catholic and Protestant witch- hunters alike, the unquestioned authority on how to conduct a witch huntes the Malleus Maleficarum, or Hammer of Witches, written in 1848 by the Reverends Kramer and Spregner (the ,,beloved sons" of Pope Innocent VIII.) For three centuries this sadistic book lay on the bench of every judge, every witch hunte. In a long section on judicial proceedings, the instructions make it clear how the ,,hysteria" was set off:
