Review: Educating Rita

I think that this film is for everybody. It speaks about finding yourself and about desire to find and develope yourself, which can come anytime, at age 15 or at age 55. For kids under 15 it could be a bit difficult to understand because it is with deep thought. At first the film seemed dull, but when the story developed, then it was interesting and enthralling. I never found it funny, but it was catching. Sometimes it was even a little romantic. The film ended differently than I hoped. I thought that Susan and Frank will stay together and fly to Australia, make family. I hoped to see happy ending and how Susan would run after Frank and shout: ,,Wait for me! I will come with you, I love you, Frank!" but it did not happen, so I was a bit disapointed. On the whole the film was good, not great, but still good. I will definitely recommend this to my friends.

son William II Rufus when he went to the holy land to fight the Muslims. When William Rufus died, he had no son to take the crown. At the time of William's death, his father was on his way back from the holy land. Their younger brother Henry acted quickly and took the crown for himself. That made Robert very angry and tried to invade England. In 1106 Henry invaded Normandy and captured Robert. The two countries were now reunited under one king. Henry hoped to give the throne to his son, who unfortunately drowned. He hoped for another son, but got a daughter Matilda instead. Matilda married to a great French noble to make the family stronger. When Henry died, there were to heirs. One was Henry's nephew Stephen who was in England and Matilda who was in France. Stephen acted quickly and claimed the throne to himself. Matilda invaded England a few years later. That led to a terrible civil war

For example sport games like football what takes skill and practice. Also it is much healthier than shopping because of physical moving. All things considered it can be said that shopping has become a favourite past time among some young people. It is hoped that our generation will find more past time opportunities what are more useful.

Shakespeare in love

The wonderful mixture of romance and comedy makes me want to watch it all over again and again. The film itself was written my Marc Norman and directed by John Madden and playwright Tom Stoppard. The plot talks about a 16th century playwright named William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes),who is suffering from lack of inspiration. Meanwhile there is a young wealthy lady named Viola de Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow) who has always dreamed about becoming an actress and one day hoped to find true love. Women were not allowed to act these days so she dressed up as a boy and went to Shakespeares play auditions and succeeded and that's where the inspiration and love story started to build up. Even though William at first didn't even know that Kent was actually a woman and believed he was nephew of his true love. But found out later accidentally. But their love was forbidden as Viola was about to marry Lord Wessex on his fathers demand

Weeks before his planned departure, his mother dies of scarlet fever. At university, he excels at chemistry and other sciences, and develops a secret technique to imbue inanimate bodies with life. The details of the monster's construction are left ambiguous, but Frankenstein finds himself forced to make the creature roughly eight feet tall because of the difficulty in replicating the minute parts of the human body. His creation, which he has hoped would be beautiful, is instead hideous, with dull yellow eyes, and a withered, translucent, yellowish skin that barely conceals the muscular system and blood vessels. After bringing his creation to life, Victor is repulsed by his work: he flees the room, and the monster disappears. Victor becomes ill from the experience. by a distant cousin if Mr. Bennet dies. When the wealthy bachelor Mr. Bingley and his best friend Mr. Darcy arrive in town to spend the summer in a mansion nearby their property, the shy and beautiful Jane falls in love with Mr. Bingley. Lizzie finds Mr. Darcy an arrogant and proud man, and she swears to loathe him forever. This is the beginning of their wonderful love story. My opinion: I found the book quite interesting, not as good as I had expected or hoped, but still something different from the usual books I read. It is a classical love story, how a man and a woman at first loath each other and later on fall in love. But it can be said that it is a quite women- dominating story, as it shows women having power, although little, but still- and how it was uncommon those days to praise women in literature. Women are desperate to find a man to marry, especially a rich man, then they submit to their husbands, if not they are off to find a new one.

Things gradually improved and a second and third fleet arrived in years 1790 and 1791. Convicts worked on government land but since 1973 those who behaved well were freed and given land. In the novel the animals are shown as the exagerated copies of human beings with all their characters, habits and feelings. The story took place on the farm where the animals led a rebellion against the human beings. The revolution was started by the pigs who were considered the most intelligent animals. The others helped the pigs because they hoped for the better and easier life and they thought that the pigs would change everything for the best. Unfortunately it did not work out so well. As soon as the pigs came to the power they forgot about their promises and the needs of their comrades became unimportant. After the rebellion was held, the animals invented the seven commandments for the future life of the farm. The concert grew in scope, as more acts were added on both sides of the Atlantic. As a charity fundraiser, the concert far exceeded its goals: on a television programme in 2001, one of the organisers stated that while initially it had been hoped that Live Aid would raise £1 million with the help of Wembley tickets costing £25.00 each, the final figure was £150 million Partly in recognition of the Live Aid effort, Geldof received an honorary knighthood. Jacob offers to drive her to the hospital, but she refuses. Once at the Swan home, Bella tells Jacob to go home. He of course follows her inside anyway, where Charlie asks what the fuss is about. We had to drive over 200 km to Cornwall. As James May was boasting about his motorhome, Richard couldn't really do the same. The noise the motorhome ,,parts" or ,,walls" made was just terrible. Putting that aside, according to Hammond the heating system of the Land Rover wasn't as good as he had hoped for as well, describing it as ,,quite chilly". My motorhome was of course doing fine. Apart from some wobbling everything was just aces. Just to be sure I wasn't a threat on the road I had James pull behind me to take a quick look. He wasn't of much help since he only laughed and nor was Richard up front for that matter. in your hands, your lungs, your mind's, in your HEART. Xxx 45. These two poems are my own!!! I wrote these by myself!!! Lets start. So the first one. I wrote it 26.12.2013. In the middle of tonight, when the stars were shiningin the sky, You were giving me the kiss, it was all that I could ever wish. It was like a beautiful dream, I was happy, I wanted to shout and scream. You were holding me so tight and I didn't fight. I wanted you to stay with me, I hoped that you will never leave. When you said that I “love You” it was like dream to coming true. I said “I Love You Too” and you were taking to my hand. Now were standing here again, I' asking you if, where and when I see you again. But your answer is that “ No, no more” did I here you right, I'm not sure. I can't beleave you said goodbye to me, I'm shocked and I can't breathe, you were only playing with me. I trusted you and I loved you, but it was all a lie and I, I want to die.

The Obama girls began classes there on January 5, 2009. While in Chicago, both attended the private University of Chicago Laboratory School. In his victory speech on the night of his election, President Obama repeated his promise to Sasha and Malia to get a puppy to take with them to the White House. The selection was slow because Malia is allergic to animal dander; the president subsequently said that the choice had been narrowed down to either a Labradoodle or Portuguese Water Dog, and they hoped to find a shelter animal. On April 12, 2009, it was reported that the Obamas had adopted a six-month- old Portuguese Water Dog. Obamas' pet The name of the First Family's dog is "Bo." Malia and Sasha picked the dog's name. Bo was born on October, 9, 2008. He is a Portuguese Water Dog from the same breeders of the Portuguese Water Dogs that belonged to the late Senator Ted Kennedy. Consider the efforts of Ms. Berger, 28, and Ms. Hazard, 24, who advertised eloquently for roommates before even settling on a house: "Some of the things we like are: permaculture, living sustainably, gardening, dancing, hula hooping, yoga, herbalism, making music, active listening, non-violent communication ..." they wrote, in part. The idea, they said last week, was that the relationships would be more important than the real estate. What they hoped to put together was a kind of family, but without sibling rivalry or parents, of course; the thought was that everyone would do the dishes without grumbling. "It's hard to feel supported in a place like New York City, especially without a partner, or consistent person or group that you are able to connect with daily," said Ms. Berger, a musician and piano teacher who has been renting a room from another young woman in an apartment in Park Slope

confesses that he has turned away from them, because he feels called to be a missionary, and he knows that Miss Oliver would not accept such a life. St. John discovers Jane's true identity, and astounds her by showing her a letter stating that her uncle John has died and left her his entire fortune of £20,000, equivalent to £1,510,000 in today's pounds[1]. When Jane questions him further, St. John reveals that John is also his and his sisters' uncle . They had once hoped for a share of the inheritance, but have since resigned themselves to nothing. Jane, overjoyed by finding her family, insists on sharing the money equally with her cousins. St. John asks Jane to accompany him to India as his wife. He asks solely because he wishes a good missionary's wife, a role in which he believes Jane will excel. She agrees to go, but refuses marriage, believing his reserve and reason incompatible with her warmth and passion.

was given by some man (so it wasn't hers), she ate one egg after another, that's how hungry she was. She felt fragile, she was afraid to bump against anything. Her skin felt hard and brittle, she knew about her condition and that she can fall apart at slightest touch. She had a tough life, she was divorced, poor, unwell and probably not a Christian since she decided to sleep with a man whom she just met. She also was drinking and smoking. She hoped that man could be different maybe because he had good-natured slowness which her ex-husband maybe hasn't had. Or maybe because she thought he is wealthier or generous. 6. Find symbols and allusions to prove that the first part can be interpreted in Christian terms. What do you make of its ending? Drinking ,,Angel Wings". Oh God, Mary it's good. 3 7

toward the constellation Aries. Within three minutes, the satellite had determined the position of the burst and broadcast an alert. Two days later, astronomers at a telescope in Arizona reported that the burst came from a small, nearby galaxy, only a fraction as far away as usual. Astronomers had already traced a connection between bursts and supernovas. But this burst was so close, and Swift had spotted it so quickly, that scientists hoped it would help confirm what they suspected: A gamma-ray burst is an exploding star's opening act. After an unusually long flood of gamma rays and x-rays, lasting more than half an hour rather than the typical few seconds, the February 18 burst gave way to visible and infrared light. Within three days this afterglow was fading away--and then the supernova grabbed the spotlight. Astronomers at the Very Large Telescope in northern Chile were watching the afterglow dwindle

rates of investment and low levels of industrial and agricultural productivity. Consumer unwillingness to spend money in turbulent times, a devastated tourism sector, customs spats with Turkey, pressure on the Syrian pound, and increasing unemployment and factory closings led the IMF to reduce estimates of economic growth in 2011 and to project negative real GDP growth in 2012. The two main pillars of the Syrian economy have been agriculture and oil. The government hoped to attract new investment in the tourism, natural gas, and service sectors to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil and agriculture. Reform was slow and ad hoc as factions in the government struggled to agree on economic theory. The social market economy proposed by the regime generated argument over the balance between private sector growth and social protection. For ideological reasons,

Lincoln's death At Abraham Lincoln's memorial, Douglass was in the audience while a tribute to Lincoln was being given by a prominent lawyer. The tribute was not as successful as some of the audience there would have hoped. Reluctantly, Douglass was goaded by the people to stand up and speak. At first out of respect for the speaker he declined, but eventually he gave into the pressure and with no preparation gave a fantastic tribute to the President for which he received much respect. The crowd, roused by his speech, gave him a standing ovation. A witness later said, "I have heard Clay speak and many fantastic men, but never have I heard a speech as impressive as that

Broadsheets- The main motivation cited for this shift is that commuters prefer papers which they can hold easily on public transport, and it is presumably hoped that other readers will also find the smaller formats more convenient. It remains to be seen how this shake-up will affect the usage of the term "broadsheet". The term derives from types of popular prints usually just of a single sheet, sold on the streets and containing various types of material, from ballads to political satire. 22

"He's in a wheelchair now," Charlie continued when I didn't respond, "so he can't drive anymore, and he offered to sell me his truck cheap." "What year is it?" I could see from his change of expression that this was the question he was hoping I wouldn't ask. "Well, Billy's done a lot of work on the engine -- it's only a few years old, really." I hoped he didn't think so little of me as to believe I would give up that easily. "When did he buy it?" "He bought it in 1984, I think." "Did he buy it new?" "Well, no. I think it was new in the early sixties -- or late fifties at the earliest," he admitted sheepishly. "Ch -- Dad, I don't really know anything about cars. I wouldn't be able to fix it if anything went wrong, and I couldn't afford a mechanic..." "Really, Bella, the thing runs great. They don't build them like that anymore."

The following year, at the age of 43, Webster began writing an expanded and comprehensive dictionary, An American Dictionary of the English Language, which would take twenty-seven years to complete. To supplement the documentation of the etymology of the words, Webster learned twenty-six languages, including Old English (Anglo-Saxon), German, Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Arabic, and Sanskrit. The Witch Trials in Salem

Sarah Good was poor and sometimes begged for food. Sarah Osborne had not been to church for a year. That earned her disapproval from many of her neighbours. On 29 February 1692 the three were arrested. On 1 March Judge John Hathorne and Judge Jonathan Corwin examined them. Sarah Good and Sarah Osborne denied the charges but Tituba confessed. Perhaps she felt that if she denied the charge she would not be believed, after all she was only a slave. She may also have hoped that if she confessed she would be spared. If so she was correct. Tituba was imprisoned for a while but she was not executed. Once the witch hysteria was over Tituba withdrew her confession. One of the most horrific aspects of the witch hysteria was that if you were accused and you confessed your life was spared. However if you were accused and you denied the charge but where then convicted you were hanged. Furthermore if you expressed scepticism about the witch trials you
