Formal letter

I am writing in order to complain about a situation which happened on 26th of September, when I was dining at the Babyback Ribs &Bbq restaurant. To start from the beginning, at first when we entered the restaurant there was no-one to serve us. Then, when we had waited for a long time a young girl came to us and asked us if we had a table booked, we answered that we did not and so we were given the menus and lead to available seatings. When we had decided what to have there was once again no-one to serve us and when the waitress finally showed up she could not answer our questions about the specifics of the menu. Finally we came to a conclusion that I would take the french fries, but without jalapeno, which I especially accentuated. After 15 minutes of more waiting the dishes arrived, but there was still jalapeno in my food. I was really disappointed and took the dish back, saying it was not what I ordered. The waitress looked a me poshly and did not even

In addition, entire resort was crowded and very noisy but travel agent described it as quiet and peaceful area. Last but not least, our hotel room was tiny and not comfortable for three people to live in, it was dirty also. Furthermore, towels were dirty during our two weeks holiday. In conclusion, I think the travel agent should offer some compensation for us, because of false information in brochure and bad service in hotel. I am looking forward receiving your reply Yours faithfully Riho Kirsipuu Number of words: 167

I was suprised and offended. I had a very bad impression of your shop and I hope that it will not repeat.

Complaint letter

Dear Sir or Madam, 6 October 2009 I am writing to complain about repetitious delays in rail service last week and to claim the vouchers you have referred in your information leaflet. Whereas all my classes in London start at 10 o'clock sharp and I do not want to be late because I have paid for these I always check the schedule for the most convenient choice of train. Nevertheless last week all my journeys to my course delayed. On the worst day the train was 1 hour and 20 minutes late. Therefore I missed two classes in addition to numerous delays and loss of nerves. Although I understand that the weather conditions last week were extremely complicated the deferments should have been prevented, because that is quite predictable especially in October.

Semi formal complaint letter

Dear Mr Smith, I am writing in because of a problem I have with the new neighbour, David, who has moved in downstairs. Unfortunately, his habits seems to be different than mine. The issue is that David is a musician who plays his electric guitar very late night. I understand he is in a band and needs to practice but I think he can not do this in apartment. I work in home, so for me, it is important to have silence so I can concentrate on my work. But when David is playing all the time it is unable to get any of my works done, except when he is out. Sometimes I have been forced to leave the apartment and work at the library because of the guitar playing was disturbing. I would appreciate it if you could speak to David and ask him to turn down the volume on his guitar or else to use headphones. I have spoken to him about it, but he has not listen to me. I will let you know as soon as the situation gets better. Thank you kindly and I hope this problem will be solv

Formal letter about holiday

Dear Sir/Madam I'm writing to ask for more information about the 'Swedish Dream' holiday which i saw on the internet. Me and my friends are very interested in Sweden and would like to go on this holiday but we would like to ask some more things about the trip. Firstly, i would like to get some more information about the hotels and the cities we are going to visit. I was also wondering if there's going to be a tour guide to talk about the history of Sweden. Could you tell me more about these things? Secondly, I am a little bit worried about my health. Could you send me information about the diseases and health risks in this country, just in case. And i was also wondering if the health insurance is included? I would also like to know if pets are allowed in the hotels as my friend is having dog allergy. Thirdly, it's said that the price includes everything except the museums. Could you possibly tell me how much money is needed for these museums and are they obligatory? We would also like

A formal letter to a newspaper

Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing with regard to the article 'Txting away ur education' in The Forum column. I have to admit that I was truly inspired by it! I acknowledge the problem of students sending too many text messages and hardly paying any attention at school. First, I have to agree with the argument about declaring war on texting as a new way to be in contact with fellow students over the break, class or other activity. Also, it is important to point out the fact that, according to the Nielsen Co., teens over the country were in the year 2009 sending at least 80 texts a day on average, a figure double what it was the year before. In spite of teens saying that they cannot live without cell phones and iPods, electronic devices should not be permitted in the school buildings. Although students are taking the rules more

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to apply for the advertisement on your website requesting for volunteers to join a conservation expedition to a remote region of Costa Rica. I speak basic Spanish. I had learned Spanish at school for a year and after that I went to Spain. I lived there for a few years and I can easily speak with local community without any problems. I also took part in different swimming competitions. I like long distance in an openwater, so it is not a challenge for me to swim a lot and fast in the river or in the sea. I have two queries about the expedition. Firstly, could you please inform me about the animals which will be researched in the rainforest and in the waters close to the coast? Secondly, when and where will the twoweek introductory course take place? I look forward to your reply. Yours faithfully, .................

Dear Joe, Thank you for your letter. I'm writing for you more specifically about our upcoming trip - meet-up and changes we have been made, so you can move on with the arrangements. Also, I have couple of questions myself too. First of all, we have a change regarding the date. We will arrive on 6'th September and leave on 16'th September . We are going to use a bus as a transport and will arrive to the hotel approximately 12 at noon. We have total of 16 students in our group - 10 boys and 6 girls plus another teacher besides me. We would like to have 5 rooms if possible and there is also a girl in the wheelchair in our group. I would also like to know about the museums you have been searched out for us and which is the appropriate way to dress ourselves - more comfortably or rather elegantly? Plus are there any past-time sporting opportunities for us? If yes, may you stop more closely on that? All in all I would like to thank you and meet you soon! Yours truly, Mari

Dear Sir, I am writing to complain about the Beautiful China Figure I ordered from your company. I believe your advertisement was misleading in a number of ways. Firstly, it was said to be delivered within ten days but when I received the package, three weeks had already passed. Also, my friend's birthday had passed, it was supposed to be a gift for him. I had to buy a new gift for him and now I do not have anything to do with this figure. Secondly, the figure was cracked and it did not look like the one on the advertisement. T h e new chapters of this book will, I hope, reflect some of the ideas that have continued to evolve around the Hero's Journey concept. T h e r e are new chapters on the life force operating in stories, on the mechanism o f polarity that rules in storytelling, on the wisdom of the body, catharsis, and other concepts that I have developed in recent years in my lectures and in practical work in H o l l y w o o d and in Europe. I have gathered together this new material near the end of the book, in an appendix following "Looking Back on the Journey." In the nine years since the last edition, I have traveled widely, applied my ideas to writing, publishing, and producing projects of my own, and done a few more "tours of duty" as it were for major H o l l y w o o d studios

William Shakespeare - Hamlet

Source: Feedbooks 1 About Shakespeare: William Shakespeare (baptised 26 April 1564 – died 23 April 1616) was an English poet and playwright, widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world's pre-eminent dramatist. He is often called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon" (or simply "The Bard"). His surviv- ing works consist of 38 plays, 154 sonnets, two long narrative poems, and several other poems. His plays have been trans- lated into every major living language, and are performed more often than those of any other playwright. Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford-upon-Avon. At the age of 18 he married Anne Hathaway, who bore him three children: Susanna, and twins Hamnet and Judith. Between 1585 and 1592 he began a successful career in London as an actor, writer, and part owner of the playing company the Lord Chamberlain's Men, later known as the King's Men. He ap-

AMBER AND RUSSET - LATE COLOUR CHANGE GENES Copyright 2014, Sarah Hartwell The ancestors of the domestic cat were nondescript black/brown striped tabbies. Over the centuries, mutation produced a wide array of colours based on 2 different pigments. Eumelanin gives the blacks, browns and blues while phaeomelanin gives the reds, fawns and creams. A few other genes give further variations on those colours such silvers, colourpoints and solids/selfs. Mutations continue to occur and unexpected colours also turn up due to inbreeding where recessive genes, hidden for generations, start showing up. AMBER AND LIGHT AMBER During the 1990s, some purebred Norwegian Forest Cats in Sweden produced chocolate/lilac and cinnamon/fawn offspring. However, those colours are not found in the purebred Norwegian Forest Cat gene pool
