Catering service-letter

Firstly, a huge variety of dishes is promised in your advertisement. To my surprise when I asked about some, I was told that many of them were not available. The second thing that was below standards was delivery. I do not believe that prompt delivery means food arriving late. When the food finally arrived, it was cold! Another problem was your staff. The waiters were simply rude to my guests! I was embarrassed especially because I had told my guests to expect a friendly service. As if all this was not enough, I was overcharged on the final bill. I would not have booked your service if I had known that you find it reasonable to overcharge people. Hopefully this letter prompts you to make some drastic changes in your service. I expect a full refund for your service ruined my party. Yours faithfully, Mari Parts

Friendship

importantly they love us for who we are. It doesn't matter what a person looks like or what kind of clothes they wear, but it's what's on the inside that counts. It's the actions they take, no matter how big or small, to show us how much of a good friend they are, and being there for us no matter what, even when things get rough. Friends are always there for us, to laugh with us in the happy times and to provide us with a shoulder, when we feel like crying. There is not a list of qualities you expect to see in a friend. Every friend has different qualities and they are beyond comparison. Some friends might be good listeners and some can help you to find solutions to problems. Everyone is unique in their own personal way. But a perfect friend has to be faithful, honest, fun and understanding. I think I have those qualities but I cannot judge myself. Because others may see me in a different way. True friends love us and care for us. They always make us feel special and never expect

Thoughts on Air Pollution Essay

Every time we breathe, we risk inhaling dangerous chemicals that have found their way into the air. Air pollution includes all contaminants found in the atmosphere. These dangerous substances can be either in the form of gases or particles. Air pollution can be found both outdoors and indoors. Pollutants can be trapped inside buildings, causing indoor pollution that lasts for a long time. The sources of air pollution are both natural and human-based. As one might expect, humans have been producing increasing amounts of pollution as time has progressed, and they now account for the majority of pollutants released into the air. Air pollution has been a problem throughout history. Even in Ancient Romepeople complained about smoke put into the atmosphere. The effects of air pollution are diverse and numerous. Air pollution can have serious consequences for the health of human beings, and also severely affects natural ecosystems.

Letter of complaint

Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to you to express my annoyance at the supreme quality of service that was promised but never delivered. I am talking about the intensive 4-wekk language course provided by you, International Language Centre. First things first the "highly qualified staff" had a terrible sense of time and always arrived late. Not to mention their insufficient language level, which I found quite displeasing. In addition to that, the provided free course materials were in reality just old and used textbooks and the desks were just way too small to work on, and the classes had no heating, which were quite cold in the mornings. Also you advertised small study groups, but the fact that there were over a dozen people in class determined that it was a lie. Now, according to these points that I brought out, I believe I am entitled to a full refund and I expect your full cooperation. Yours faithfully, Mart Mets

Retell Global Warming

The Earth's climate has been changing constantly over its history. Once, all climate change occurred naturally, but recently, people have also started altering the climate. We are sending more and more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The average global temperature has increased by about 0.5 °C over the past century. Scientist expect it to increase up to an additional 3 °C over the next on 100 years. People who are living in cold places may have a chance to grow new crops if the climate gets warmer. At the same time in some parts of the world, people won't be able to grow the food they need. Global warming will make the sea level higher because it'll make the glaciers melt. When water expands in the ocean, it takes up more space and the level of the seas rise. If global warming

the real population number of Estonia (70% of people questioned) and the data collection about living conditions (37%). This shows people's interest and concern about the sustainability of Estonia. The electronic Population and Housing Census will take place during the first month of the Census and 2/3 of the people questioned are planning to use the opportunity to answer the questionnaires electronically. Most of them are people under the age of 54, as the majority of people from 54- 77 expect a visit from the enumerator. This demonstrates that the older generation doesn't feel as comfortable using a computer. In conclusion, people's awareness of the Census is high and the results of it are very anticipated.

Fast Development of modern technology- a blessing or a curse?

But these problems nowadays are not only making our life inconvenient, but even dangerous. In my opinion, humans are now relatively more powerful. So it is up to men to decide what we should do and what we shouldn't. It is our duty to make science and technology serve human beings better and better. In consequence, we are faced with a glorious task ---- to build a magnificent new civilization by means of advanced science and technology. Only then can we expect to make the development of science and technology a blessing rather than a curse.

Informal letter to a friend describing a house for rent

twenty kilometres from the capital and the rent for the house is only £169 a week. The house is really adorable outside. It's made of light grey bricks and has a restored wood frame windows. Also, it's got small balcony and is surrounded by a beautiful garden. Plus, modern security system. Inside, the house is nice and comfortable. It has two floors. On the ground floor there is a charming living room and modern fitted kitchen with all the equipment you would expect. As well as a dining room and mediumsize WC. Upstairs there is one big lovely bedroom and one smaller guests bedroom, also a bathroom. The house is fully furnished so you don't need to worry about that. Let me know if you like the sound of it. I can easily talk to the owner, Mrs Kuusk, for you. I hope i'll see you here soon. Yours, .....................

Book Review

It is an short novel. There are film based on this book. The story is set on a big ocean. On the first pages, old man comes from fishing. Then he starts eating dinner with a boy. As the story develops, the man goes again to the sea to get fish. Then a big fish swallows the beat. The fish is so big that starts to pull the boat. The plot of the story is quite drab, but interesting too. The book contains lots of methaphors, which make the novel more vivid. There are no ilustrations in the book, expect on the cover. On the one hand the book is a little bit drab, but on the other hand, the book raises the curiousity. I like this book, because it is exciting to read it. I recommend the book to others.

The advantages and disadvantages of multiculturalism

A lot depends on the country as much it depends of its people. The good side is definitely the environment and society, which enrich and develop into many directions. So do people, too. New languages spread to schools all over the world and people learn and try out new things such as new oriental cuisines and much more. Many different traditiones expand that way. On the other side, people are different and probably, when they move to another country, they expect or hope, that there is better life, but often they are wrong. The obstacle can very easily be even the language. If you don't know or understand the language of the country, it can be very tricky to live on. But in good will, learning the language isn't very hard, unless you're learning Chinese symbols. The threat of terrorism may get worse as the result of multiculturalism. Many people can also choose the wrong path, so they may become criminals and murderers

Customs and behaviour patterns in Finland

Refrain from eating before your host begins, and take small portions because it is the custom to eat everything on one's plate. At a dinner party, it is customary to refrain from drinking until the host offers a toast, and to refrain from eating until the host begins. Standing with arms folded is sometimes viewed as a sign of arrogance. Always cover the mouth when yawning! Finnish Behaviour Finns believe there is a proper way to act in any circumstance and always expect courteous behaviour. Talk in moderate tones and do not do anything to call attention to yourself. Serial conversation is the rule - i.e. listen to the speaker, wait for them to finish and then reply. Interrupting is rude. Finnish Meeting Etiquette Greetings are formal, with a firm handshake, direct eye contact, and a smile. It is common practice to repeat your first and surname while shaking hands.

What is expected of a graduate of the 21st century

On the other hand, universities are getting a lot of critic because some say that the goal of universities are to produce as many diploma graduates as possible. I think that universities are places where young people who doesn’t know yet what they want from life, can use this time to discover their true interests. Im sure that many young high school graduates who start study in university are at first not very passionate about their speciality because they dont know what to expect and if their choice is right. There is no quarantee and this is where university comes in play – objective is not only to educate students about their chosen subject but to expand one’s horizon and to develop logical thinking. One could argue that there are too many graduates in some specialities but there can’t never be too much critically thinking people. Thats exactly what I have learned so far in university – I feel I am smarter citizen now

Should schools permit computers for their students?

Many students and their parents are in the position that every school should permit computers for their students. Is this a good idea if every student at school has their own computer what they can use in lesson? In my opinion having computers in our English class is very good idea. There is a lot of reasons why. Firstly, our textbooks and worksbooks are compiled that method that there are some excercises which we will have to check from internet like all kind of searching tasks what expect us to use Internet. It also simplify teacher work, teacher does not have to waste her time preparing the lessons.Because they can check out the difficult words quickly from internet. On the other hand, sitting in the computers every day is not good for our health, staring at a computer screen for several hours is enough to tire the eye muscles and it also causes stress and fatigue. Spending too much time in computer will lose students communication s...

We are not interested in museums, nightlife or anything of that sort but of an active holiday we would like to be able to go rafting, hiking and swimming during our vacation. We also wouldn't mind if some of our trip was by bike, but not all of it. The trip is going to last for two weeks and we don't want to be on the road for too long so 3 locations at max. We haven't decided on places to visit, so any suggestions would be great.

Collecting and recording fish data reveals what species are surviving and inhabiting a particular stream system and to what extent the aquatic ecosystem is maintaining that population. Depending on the type of stream visited and the field chemistry and habitat measurements taken, biologists have certain expectations of what type of species they should expect to find. When this ends up not being the case, as where warm water pollutant tolerant species are found in what would be considered cold water species habitat, then the biologists look closer into possible causes for the ecological imbalance. When combined with water chemistry, habitat, and stream invertebrate information, a clear picture of the ecological system is brought in to focus from which sound management decisions can be made. 8.1 Introduction · Electrofishing - use of

Teater NO99

Theatre NO99 I chose to write about this theatre because I like it the most. It is the most modern theatre I think and the plays are also most startling and astonishing, compare to other theatres in Estonia. It began to operate in February 2005, so it is one of the youngest theatres in Estonia. Probably that's why it is very different from the others and its repertoire is more contemporary then classical. Their first play what "Sometimes you feel that life will end and there hasn't been any love". The theatre also organizes so called one-time "actions", in which you can't be certain if it's going to be a success of failure, because the ideas are somewhat crazy. It has two theatre halls, but their plays have been staged in the open air as well. For example one time in an old swimming pool and also in three abandoned airplane hangars. Their imagination has no boundaries. The theatre'...

Carbon capture and storage

The main cause of that is the burning of fossile fuels. This is leading to the global warming. People have discovered a way to reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. It is possible to seperate the CO2 from the other gases by adding liquid which is very good at absorbing CO2. Then it can be pumped to underground. Scientist came up with this idea because methane gas has been down there for thousands of years and it has not come up. So they expect that the CO2 won't be coming up either. To be sure of that, they are coing to make a test and drill two wells to take purified CO2, inject it into the ground and monitor the physical changes that CO2 undergoes. This technology is really new and it is unknown to people. It has not been proven yet, so people are scared and concerned about it. The biggest fear is that carbon dioxide will leak out but we don't have to be worried about that, because CO2 is everywhere around us and it is not poisonous

Music can be a hobby.

It's a good idea to try more than one type of instrument in order to know what you really prefer and what feels the most natural to you. It's best not to make up your decision on something like how cool a certain guitar looks on your favourite rock star.Everyone needs to develope their own musical styling with the instrument that is best for them. Writing music is one of the most profound ways to dig deep into yourself and see what you have to offer in a musically creative format.Don't expect the first thing you write to be an amazing piece of work.It takes time to build up to it.Don't feel as if what you write isn't worth sharing with other either. It's common to feel in secure when you develope your own original music but if your passion is in it, let it speak for itself. When you discover an artist or musician that you just can't get enough of, it's understandable that you want to collect all of their works.A music collection is a great hobby to have. Not only is listening

Manners in Estonia

Gift Giving Etiquette Gifts are usually exchanged for birthdays and at Christmas. Gifts need not be expensive as it is more about the thought than monetary worth. If you are invited to an Estonian's house, a decent gift is a bring a box of chocolates or flowers. Flowers should be given in odd numbers. Gifts are usually opened when received. Dining Etiquette Arrive on time. Punctuality is expected. Call if running late. Check to see if shoes are being worn in the house. Do not expect a tour of the house - homes are private. Dress conservatively. Try and offer to help the hostess with the preparation or clearing up after a meal is served. This will be turned down but is nonetheless polite. Do not discuss business. Reciprocate any hospitality received. Table Manners Table manners are relatively formal in Estonia. Remain standing until invited to sit down. Table manners are Continental, i.e. the fork is held in the left hand and the knife in the right while eating.

1984 book conclusion

photographs and removing references to them in books and newspapers. The thought police is based on the NKVD and the tortures of the Minstry of Love evoke the procedures used by the NKVD. Actually the statement „2+2=5“ that Winston had to beliece was a communist party slogan from the second five-year plan, in which they wanted to full five-year plan in four years. In my opinion it goeds together with nowadays- that people want to get more and faster, they do not have any patience and expect everything to happen very fast. In my opinion there were 3 main ideas which go very well together with nowadays society ideas, problems and fears. George Orwell wanted to show dangers of totalitarianism, but nowadays if a country limits people´s freedom- it is also dangerous like putting a ban on media or internet. Also controlling information and history- country can rule people and who has never seen truth can´t see anything differently, if people hear lies all the

The Witches by Roald Dahl (powerpoint)

At the end of the book, the boy and hes granmother used the advantage that the boy was so small and could go to small places and turned all the witches of England into mice, wich were killed. The main caracters · The boy · The grandmother · Bruno · The Grand High witch My opinion I did not like this book, because it was too unrealistic and i dont like to read a book wich is written for first class students. This book was not hard to read. There was nothing I found out expect some new words. I would recomend this book for children who like affectionate fantasy books.

Project Plan

Yet it is evident that space will be required and must be set aside for natural light. Accordingly, we believe that space for natural light and view must be initially allocated on the basis of approximate judgment in lieu of more fixed guidelines. To this end, 15% of the total gross floor area, or some 42,500 square feet, is allocated for natural light and view throughout the underground areas. We expect that during further development of this project, new information may suggest some adjustment of this allocation. Conclusions Preceding analysis has delineated the clear limitations of space available for development below grade on the Northern Pointe site. At this juncture it would appear reasonable to expect that 166,350 square feet of space could be accommodated below grade, easily accommodating the three-level design

Book review. A&Q (Slumdog Millionaire)

the movie too. His ambition was driven by more than love. And through all his life, his personality shone through. He was earnest, street-wise, innocent, likeable, and always, unassumingly profound. He learned from his experiences, but was prone to making the same mistakes. And I ended the book, feeling like I have lived a thousand lives. The movie just ended with a signature Bollywood song and dance. My take on this is obvious - if you've read the book and haven't seen the movie, expect it to be a completely different story. But if you've done it the other way around, read the book, forget about the movie, and you'll fall more in love with the main character. Ram Mohammad Thomas made you laugh in the movie. In the book, he made you think.

"What makes a good movie?"

When the movie is based on something else, the actors have to be picked with great precision because the viewers already have their visions of the characters and the director has to work hard to get the actors as similar to the characters in the original story as he can. When the characters have been selected and the movie is already being shot it needs to have some great special effects. Some movies have been successful even without any special effects, but nowadays people expect to see special effects in every movie. Special effects are now mostly made with the help of computers and the level of the effects depends on the skill of the people doing them and the level of their equipment. When all three are good and people have put much effort in them, the movie will probably be great unless someone messes things up very badly. But even when one of these elements is a bit weaker but another is superb, the movie can still be a great success.
