"anxiety" - 115 õppematerjali

anxiety on Jane's behalf was another prevailing concern; and Mr. Darcy's explanation, by restoring Bingley to all her former good opinion, heightened the sense of what Jane had lost. His affection was proved to have been sincere, and his conduct cleared of all blame, unless any could attach to the implicitness of his confidence in his friend.

Anxiety

Anxiety is often overlooked by adults and does not seem as big of a problem as other mental issues like depression. The truth is, anxiety can affect teenagers lives just as much and should be dealt with immediately. I also have anxiety at times, but I have found many ways to help myself. The first thing to do when having anxiety is to make sure that our body is taken care of. Enough sleep can reduce anxiety and stress very effectively. It is also crucial to have a healthy diet and well-balanced meals. Caffeine and alcohol are most certainly not recommended, since they can trigger panic attacks and aggravate anxiety. It has also been said that daily exercise can help people feel happy and maintain their health. When feeling anxious, it is important to pay notice to our breathing. Breathing exercises can quickly reduce anxiety and are easy to learn and remember. One of

important things in your life. Surprisingly, computer addiction covers a variety of impulse-control problems including cybersex addiction, cyber-relationship addiction, net compulsions, information overload and Internet addiction. These findings supports the importance of the Internet addiction. Many people turn to the Internet in order to manage unpleasant feelings such as stress, loneliness, depression, and anxiety. This suggests that it's important to remember that there are healthier (and more effective) ways to keep difficult feelings in check. These may include exercising, meditating, using sensory relaxation strategies, and practicing simple breathing exercises. One anticipated finding was that you are at greater risk of Internet addiction if you suffer from anxiety, you are depressed, you have any other addictions, you lack social support, you're an

Marijuana Facts For Teens artikkel

Marijuana Facts For Teens Marijuana is one of the most popular drugs among teenagers because most teens don't consider it to be harmful. This idea that marijuana is harmless is a very common misconception among teens. Teens use marijuana because it is a great way to relax and just chill out with friends, but most teens aren't aware of the risks associated with marijuana use. Teens may think that marijuana isn't dangerous because it's not a "hard" drug like cocaine or heroin, but what they don't know is that marijuana has its own set of dangers. Everyone has heard that marijuana is a "gateway drug" and this idea has been a point of debate for many years. However, even if marijuana does not lead to the use of other drugs, there are still negative consequences that result from the use of marijuana on its own. These include short term and long term consequences that include anxiety, drop in IQ, cancer, and asthma. Marijuana is not as harmle...

Summary

Summary In this summary I will analyse three articles on the topic of whether it is justified and morally right to use drone warfare in the tribal areas of Pakistan and in Gaza. To begin, we do not know if the drones have done more harm or good in the tribal areas of Pakistan. Most of the information about drone attacks is coming from dubious Pakistan media, which we cannot seriously rely on. Hence, we cannot be sure if the persons killed by drones were innocent civilians or extremists. (Fair, 2013) One the one hand, using drones can be more discriminate, because they hover over the enemy for hours and wait for the perfect moment to attack, when there are no innocent people who might get injured. (Beautmont, 2012) On the other hand, it means that after watching and killing their targets, they continue hovering over villages, which affects people’s psychology. (Owen, 2013) New York Times journalist David Rohde, who was kidnapped by ...

Dog Communication

Dog Communication Kristjan Olt Dog communication comes in a variety of forms, and is part of the foundation of dog social behaviour. Dogs use certain movements of their bodies and body parts and different vocalizations to express their emotions. One gesture may mean many different things. For example a tail wag may mean: Excitement Playfulness Happiness Anxiety Greeting ritual When one dog meets another dog, they usually walk around each other, sniff each other or even bark if they don't like something Body movements Tail position usually shows dog's mood. Ear position shows dogs level of attention Mouth expressions inform us about dogs mood Dogs use their tongue to lick each other and that is the sign of friendliness. Dogs stamp their legs when exited. The position of head is a sign of curiosity.

Should children be encouraged to do sports?

Firstly, doing sports is important for our health and if children do not do sports it may cause health conditions when they get older for example overweight. Choosing an exercise should be appropriated to the child's age and development. A good thing to do is to take the child for a walk, swimming pool or even to play a video game Wii. Secondly, sports makes children more active and playful, which develops their minds. Sports influence people mental health and it helps to decrease stress, anxiety and depression when you get older. All in all, I think it is important to encourage children to do sports but parents must not force their children into sports because it may make them feel negative about it. Does children who have a very high IQ need special education at schools?

school and some of them are smarter and quicker than others they may be labeled as nerds and weirdos. They are also often ostracized. Another thing is that, in extremis gifted children often knows more than their teachers and are very bored. Gifted students need more than most regular schools can offer to them to improve their knowledge. On the other hand, some of them, who have very high IQ, may be very different than normal people. Some of them may have disabilities like autism, anxiety. With them they absolutely cannot learn in regular schools. To the conclusion, I would like to say that I think it is way better when children with very high IQ are not learning in ordinary school, because they are not at the same level with other people and it will be hard for gifted and not so gifted children.

Addiction and drugs

Firstly sometimes people try their first cigarette, they like it and so they start doing it more regularly. Secondly some people start smoking because there's a rumour saying that it's slimming. And another reason may be that it may relieve stress. After three or four cigarettes you get addicted to it because of nicotine. It is a drug that stimulates the brain. When the level of nicotine falls in your blood and you're a regular smoker, you usually develop withdrawal symptoms, such as craving, anxiety, restlessness, headaches, irritability, hunger, difficulty with concentration, or just feeling awful. These symptoms are relieved by the next cigarette. Most smokers need to smoke regularly to feel normal and to prevent nicotine withdrawal symptoms. So once you start smoking it is very hard to quit. But why is smoking so harmful? Cigarettes have tar in them which contains many chemicals. These deposit in the lungs and can get into the blood vessels and are carried to other parts of the body

Surviving exams article

point in life. Everyone gets stressed during exams but it is important not to let it get out of control. The suggestions below may help you cope with the stress and revise for examinations successfully. Firstly, I think it would be a good idea to create a study timetable for revision. A timetable helps you to make clear goals for each revision session and assign a timescale in which to achieve them. As a result, you can reduce anxiety, reassure that you have taken all your necessary steps and increase your motivation to sit down and learn. Secondly, I recommend taking breaks periodically. This would mean that your concentration is better and you find yourself retaining more information than if you try to revise with an over- tired mind that does not remember what it just read. Lastly, it is also important to stay calm and positive. Spend time doing something relaxing each

Mina valisin kvalitatiivse inglise keelse artikli ,,A qualitative study of patients' views on anxiety and depression."

visual sensations of color, shape, motion, or polarization of light, as well as other senses such as smell, sound, touch, kinesthesia, sense of gravity, and perhaps of electric or magnetic fields .To become completely lost is perhaps a rather rare experience for most people in the modern city. We are supported by the presence of others and by special way-finding devices: maps, street numbers, route signs, bus placards. But let the mishap of disorientation once occur, and the sense of anxiety and even terror that accompanies it reveals to us how closely it is linked to our sense of balance and well-being. The very word "lost" in our language means much more than simple geographical uncertainty; it carries overtones of utter disaster. A good environmental image gives its possessor an important sense of emotional security. He can establish an harmonious relationship between himself and the outside world. This is the obverse of the fear that comes with disorientation

A day to remember

my aunt left me in the classroom and drove to the house. I felt my heart sink as I saw go but I soon began to feel better.the times passed quickly and I started making new friends so I began loving the school. However even today, when I think of my first day at school 1 remember the fear that I had and how my teacher and my friends helped me to overcome this feeling. My memories of the first day at school haunt me till today. Never again have I experienced such a mixture of strange feelings. The anxiety of being in school along with the excitement of making new friends- all these made my first day at school most memorable and I long for the innocence and fun that was common among me and my friends.

communication probably leads to weaker social ties, because people have less reason to leave their homes and actually interact face-to-face. It allows people to work from their home, to form friendships from home, to vote and discuss social issues from home. Internet communications can potentially displace face-to-face communications. People tend to loose their real-life communication skills and the generation growing up now has bigger chance to face the problems similar to social anxiety. Sure, I assume that I am also living a virtual life, but all of my friends online, are also my friends in real life. And even if I make some cyber friends, I always manage to enable face-to-face communication and exchange of emotions. I think it is very important and it should be a priority to everyone. In conclusion, I think everyone should bear in mind to closely examine their behaviour. The time spent online should not negatively impact the personal well-being. Ofcourse, we

for upcoming challenges. But as we move further and further from our natural habitat, stress becomes more of nuisance than a lifesaver. Things that cause stress to the modern man are nothing compared to the problems that troubled our ancestors. Few hundred years ago the average european was still worrying about his livestock being looted. But we feel that a Powerpoint presentation that is due tomorrow is something that threatens our existance. Stress can cause some people unnecessary anxiety that paralyzes them and is an impediment to action. That is the opposite of the motivational stress that forces us to act. Stress causes changes in the organism´s chemical composition. So does puberty. The result of that is a anxious teenager, who thinks that his or her life will certainly come to an end if his or her shoes don´t resemble the footwear of his or her adolescent companions. Another great stressor for young people is school. There are countless reasons why.

So quite large propotion of this book is devoted to the love triangle and Bellas confusion about her feelings for the future with either of the boys .In my opinion the triangle and messy relationship between the main characters made the book more intense and passionate . It was very pleasant to spend time in Stephen Meyers fantasy world of vampires and werewolves. Although the book was over 500 pages long it was a very fast read. I had to put down the book every evening with anxiety of what comes next. This was the first Meyers book I read, but I have to say he made a great expression to me with his writings.

Pet therapy

Quite by chance, researchers discovered that the survival rate of people who owned a pet was significantly greater than those who didn't. At first, they treated these findings with suspicion, but the more research that was done, the more conclusive the proof became. People with pets really were living longer.  It was discovered that stroking a cat or dog lowers a human being’s blood pressure and reduces anxiety. Just having an animal around you can lower your heart rate. Cats and dogs aren't the only pets that can help you to relax either. A dental school in America has discovered that gazing at fish in a tank helps patients relax before undergoing dental treatment.  The current trend towards using pets in therapy sessions is based on the work of an American psychologist, Dr Boris Levinson. He was treating a child who was very withdrawn and refused to talk

My Magna Carta.

They're insecure and they think that something is wrong with the way they act or look all the time. People need to stop bulling to make the world a better place. The second thing I would do is lessen homework. Teachers give us homework in 5 days of the week. If we want to suceed then we have no choice to do homework. But sometimes we get too much of it. We don't have the strenght or skills to do them. What does it cause? It causes us a lot of stress and anxiety. It effects us in many ways. For example students might be unable to sleep. Studying and thinking about a lot of things makes our brain to wake up and when we suddenly go to bed to have some sleep, then our brain don't let us to. Also students have more difficulty concentrating on their studies. Their thoughts might jump around places that they shouldn't be jumping in, during the study. They might feel ultimate tiredness at that time, when they need to be alert to study

Retsensioon "West Side Story" (muusikal)

,,WEST SIDE STORY" 8. mätrsil 2005.a käisin Vanemuise suures majas vaatamas Ain Mäeotsa lavastatud muusikali ,,West Side Story" Tegemist oli kahe vaatusega etendusega.

The Future of Work or How Artificial Intelligence Will Affect Us in 20 years

The Future of Work Automation anxiety has been spreading lately. What's clear is that there will be significant change. What's less clear is what that change will look like. The threat of technological unemployment is real. A picture that we see on our television screens, in everyday commentary is one where an army of robots descend on the workplace with one goal in mind: to displace humans from their work. Yes, machines displace humans from particular tasks, but they don't just substitute for humans. They also complement them in other tasks. Sometimes they complement humans directly. So a taxi driver can use a satnav system to navigate on unfamiliar roads. It also complements humans indirectly and it does this in two ways. Think the economy as a pie. Technological progress makes the pie bigger. As productivity increases, incomes rise and demand grows. People displaced from the tasks in the old pie could find tasks to do in the ne...

Kvalitatiivne uurimustöö Emotsioonide regulatsioon ja stress

2007). Despite these findings that show an association between cortisol and ER types, more studies are needed, as there are several limitations to the present study. Firstly the participants were restricted to males and the findings may not be applicable to females. There is evidence of gender differences in response to stress (Laurent & Powres, 2007). Also women have a different kinetic profile for IL-6 (Edwards et al., 2006), and different stress related disorders, e.g general anxiety disorder (Alonso et al., 2004). Secondly the sample size was relatively small thus increasing the sample size may power the study to produce statistically significant results for e.g correlation between DAR and salivary cortisol. Thirdly, the apparent lack of difference in the plasma IL-6 concentration after the TSST test may be due to using a single time point sample (50 min.) rather than a full time course consisting of e.g. three 15 minutes sampling time points

Eclipse, Chapter Ninteen – Selfish kokkuvõte

knows Edward will be safe, she is no longer paralyzed with terror about the upcoming battle. This time, only Jake, Quil and Embry have come to watch. Bella is stricken with guilt afresh when Edward explains that tonight they're practicing handling two enemies at once -- a reminder that the Cullens are still outnumbered, and Edward's absence will reduce their numbers further. Gazing at the werewolves, she feels a further wave of anxiety. Jake catches her agonized glance and trots over to her side. It's stupid to worry, he tells her impatiently -- Edward translating -- but Bella isn't wholly reassured. Edward goes to join his family in practicing, and Jake settles down beside Bella. After some hesitation she settles against his warm, furry flank to watch the Cullens exercise.

Kiusamine

Bullying In march 2000 an honour-roll student named Hamed Nastoh jumped off the Pattullo Bridge in New Westminster, B.C. Hamed, 14, left a seven-page note that said he was killing himself because his classmates tormented him with names like gay or faggot. He had never told his mother he was being bullied. A few months later, on November 10, another 14-year-old, Dawn-Marie Wesley of Mission, B.C., hanged herself with a dog leash in her bedroom. She too left a note for her family. It read: "If I try to get help, it will get worse. They are always looking for a new person to beat up, and they are the toughest girls. If I ratted, there would be no stopping them. I love you all so much!" Most Canadians remember the tragic 1997 murder of Reena Virk, a high-school student whose battered body was recovered from the Gorge Waterway, near Victoria. Her head and internal organs had been severely damaged by a ...

Chadee & Dittoni uurimus põhineb Ferrano (1995) definitsioonil kuritegevuse hirmul. : Fear of crime is an emotional response or dreas or anxiety to crime or symbols that a person assosiates with crime (24). Nad alustasid oma uurimistööd 2000 aastal, nad tegid uurimusküsitlusi ning näost-näkku intervjuusid. Valim oli neil väga laiamahuline. Nad küsisid kümme küsimust, et kui palju sa antud olukorda kardad. Vastamise skaala oli ühest neljani: 4- väga kartustäratav ja 1- üldse mitte hirmutav. Uurimisküsimused: Kui palju sa kardad seda: Petta saamist, tüssamist, sinult raha välja nõudmist;
