A review of a film

After Katie (Katie Featherston) and Micah (Micah Sloat) move into a new house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Micah points the camera at their bed every night, recording the horrific activities around their sleeping forms. The bedroom door swings ominously open and closed and footsteps can be heard on the stairway. The films main focus relies heavily on sound and atmosphere. And a refreshing aspect lies in the minimal amount of special effects. As the camera begins to capture paranormal events, night after night, with increasing intensity, the tension is huge. Many of the scenes and camera angles are repeated since Micah places the camera in the same place each evening while the couple sleeps. Many of the shots are hard to see in the dark and often reaction shots are lost because the filmmakers were limited by one camera

Water pollution and society

Usually a person thinks that what difference can he make. But if everybody think so, it's obvious that nothing happens. We have to change our way of thinking and start caring about the lives of our offspring. Because the situation could be cathastrophical after 50 years and then it would be too late to save anything. 95 percent of all fresh water on Earth is ground water and it's getting more and more polluted every day. 53 percent of the population relies on ground water. There are aereas that suffer under the lackess of fresh water. It's very usual in Africa. If we would live in an area under water crisis, we would pay more respect to fresh water. We can't even imagine what's happening in the world every day. Oceans, ground water and inland water bodies are being polluted all the time by different pollutants. There are many causes, but the main ones are fertilizers, factories and different kind of water accidents

You might hear someone say "Erin go bragh" on St. Patrick's Day, which is Gaelic for "Ireland forever." music Irish Folk Music is the music and song in the national heritage. It includes older Irish songs and melodies, the Anglo-Irish songs and ballads of the countryside, and the rich vein of dance music. It relies on its melodic line for effect. In Gaelic speaking Ireland song entered into every aspect of life from birth to work to keening for the dead. The musical activity of the ruling class centered around Dublin. It was European music and very important at banquets and ceremonial occasions. Millennials and Technology

A study conducted by Nielsen, an American global information and measurement company shows that over 85% of millennials own smartphones. It also states that we are twice as likely (40%) to use social media in the bathroom. It's very possible that you've done it too! Next time, remember to be careful so it doesn't fall in... That is said to happen quite a lot as well. That just shows we're extremely addicted. We rely on this new list of technology like a robot relies on its database. Without any data, they'd just be a shell with blank eyes and so would every millennial. Don't worry though! As young teens who've just adjusted to dishwashers, your parents would have the same exact look when finding out they have to clean every single dish by hand. Everyone's the same. To be honest, we're all robots. References: ``Millennials: Technology = Social Connection´´. Nielsen. n.p., 26 Febr 2014. Web. 7 April 2015.

The Universe according to Douglas Adams

oneself at the ground and miss. This was achieved by getting distracted enough so one would not acknowledge the fact that one was flying. Drawing any attention towards oneself was not recommended, as the laws of gravity would notice and instantly drop one back to the ground. Interstellar distances were crossed using the Bistromathic Drive. The whole idea behind Bistromathics was that space depends on the observer's movement in restaurants. As Adams had specified, it relies on three nonabsolute (meaning that they could be anything) numbers: the number of people for whom the table is reserved, the given time of arrival and the relationship between the cost of the items on the check and the amount that people are prepared to pay for (47, 48). The most satirical idea Adams had come up with was the Somebody Else's Problem (shortened as SEP) field. SEP is actually a quite simple concept: individuals often ignore issues that are of relative or critical importance

Why do we need morality?

But of course it depends on the context and some rules can exclude others. For example when one lies to save an innocent life. Most of the time the good is still good and vice versa. When children are thought moral values from the beginning, they re used to live by them and think of them as basics. Even if one day they break the moral code, they will feel guilty and know that it was wrong. The main difference between religion and morality is that morality is more reasonal while religion relies on beliefs. Morality is a big part of religion. Belief guides people towards morality, as religious people think that God sees and judges all our actions. Law is related to morality as well as religion. In the perfect word morality should be the basis of law. But in real world there are unjust laws and immoral acts that cannot be legally enforced. The law cannot judge human motives and intentions as well and that is why the law is much more shallower

importance. The first message I brought out about serving God and receiving success is mentioned in the sermon with the phrase ‘shipwreck’ as it follows:”Now the onely way to avoyde this shipwracke, and to provide for our posterity, is to followe the counsell of Micah, to doe justly, to love mercy, to walk humbly with our God.” (Winthrop, 1996) ‘Shipwreck’ clearly represents failing the God and the consequences that accompany these kind of behavior. Doctrine for avoiding this relies on simple and plain teaching – follow, love and worship God. The central idea itself focuses in the end of the poem where Winthrop compares their new Massachusetts Bay colony to "a city upon a hill". This another metaphorical phrase is used to express the success of this revolutionary city which rises above, shining over everyone else. This “City upon a hill” after succeeding its power is referred as an example for the rest of the human kind

Summary On a Possible Characteristic of the Governing System of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten) Tarmo Kulmar Key words: Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten), earliest totalitarianism, ideology, monothe- ism, New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt, religion, state power The article explores the relationship between the religious reform of Pharaoh Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten) of the New Kingdom of Ancient Egypt and changes in the government system. The analysis, which is based on historical data and relies on the diagram of the concept of the early totalitarian state by the author, reveals that Akhenaten's governing system (almost) entirely corresponds to that of an early totalitarian state in terms of historical-political causes and factors of ideology, partly in terms of adminis- trative and legislative system, and only few features of early totalitarianism could be found in the economy and the social order. Akhenaten's foreign politics reveal no fea- tures of early totalitarianism

artistic media can perhaps be best demonstrated by looking at young children's clay productions. Children as young as 3 years of age who perform in nonintrusive self- exploration environments tend to be much more limited in subject matter, scale, detail, and stylistic diversity in their clay productions than are those who benefit from appropriate instruction (Kindler, 1997). But perhaps most important, sensitive teaching that relies on constructivist approaches and actively guides children toward important discoveries that support their pictorial efforts translates into sense of accomplishment and pride that sustains children's interest in creative endeavors and encourages them to continue to use and further master this medium of representation. These recommended forms of adult intervention and teaching can be easily integrated into the play format, and skillful and sensitive teachers can make a tremendous difference in

barriers would need to be overcome to reach this theoretical capacity. Advantages Wind energy is fueled by the wind, so it's a clean fuel source. Wind energy doesn't pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain or greenhouse gasses. Wind energy is a domestic source of energy, produced in the United States. The nation's wind supply is abundant. Wind energy relies on the renewable power of the wind, which can't be used up. Wind is actually a form of solar energy; winds are caused by the heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the rotation of the earth, and the earth's surface irregularities. Wind energy is one of the lowest-priced renewable energy technologies available today, costing between 4 and 6 cents per kilowatt-hour, depending upon the wind resource and project financing of the particular project.

Games Programming with Java and Java 3D

6.1. Performance Performance data on Java 3D is scarce only the Marner study has seriously considered Java 3D's performance against one of its rivals, OpenGL [Marner 2002]. At present, performance `figures' seem mostly based on hearsay. A common example is to give DirectX 10/10, OpenGL 7.5/10, and Java 3D 3/10. Java 3D performance is often equated with Java performance: the perceived slowness of Java `demonstrates' the slowness of Java 3D. In fact, since Java 3D relies on OpenGL or DirectX for rendering, much of the graphics processing speed of Java 3D is independent of Java. History suggests that performance will become a less important consideration as the base speed of hardware keeps increasing. Even today, most low profile games rely less on dazzling 3D special effects, more on gaming characterization and story. High profile games will always need performance, but the real bottleneck will not be the

This oratorio is not only the central work in the whole output of Kapp, but the most weighty in the choral- symphonic production during the pre-war Republic of Estonia. The work was composed for four soloists, male and female choir, organ and symphony orchestra. Kapp relies on classical examples, firstly on Bach, (Fugue theme in E minor, later used in the cantata: Aus tiefer Not schrei’ ich auf Dir. BWV 38.) stems the leitmotif of the oratorio: Example 23. continuously per day for 28 days. Controls were exposed to a mobile phone without a battery for the same period.... Rats exposed to RF-EMR exhibited a signi cantly reduced percentage of motile sperm. CONCLUSION: Given the results of the present study, we speculate that RF-EMR from mobile phones negatively a ects semen quality and may impair male fertility. The rat balls were exposed for one hour per day for 28 days?! In California, where I live, 30% of the population relies exclusively on cell phones for communication. I had carried a cell phone in my pocket an average of at least 12 hours a day for the last 10 years. No more. It didn't hurt me to put it somewhere else, and the evidence was strong enough to warrant a trial. Eleven weeks later, I had my first round of results. Happy Endings For eleven weeks, I adopted one new rule: my phone was no longer allowed to cuddle with my testicles.

a substantially larger favor than the one he or she received. • Another way that the rule for reciprocity can increase compliance involves a simple variation on the basic theme: Instead of providing a first favor that stimulates a return favor, an individual can make an initial concession that stimulates a return concession. One compliance procedure, called the rejection-then-retreat technique, or door-in-the-face technique, relies heavily on the pressure to reciprocate concessions. By starting with an extreme re- quest that is sure to be rejected, a requester can then profitably retreat to a smaller request (the one that was desired all along), which is likely to be ac- cepted because it appears to be a concession. Research indicates that, aside from increasing the likelihood that a person will say yes to a request, the rejection-then-retreat technique also increases the likelihood that the person

•C:ClusterStorage: This is where the clustered storage (Cluster Shared Volumes) of a Hyper-V cluster is mounted — for example, C:ClusterStorageVolume1. You can change these default storage locations by opening Hyper-V Manager, connecting to the relevant host, clicking the Hyper-V Settings action, browsing to Virtual Hard Disks And Virtual Machines, and changing the shown storage paths. Hyper-V Clusters Hyper-V itself has no clustering capability and relies on close integration with Windows Failover Clustering to provide such services. When you look at the anatomy of a cluster, as shown in Figure 8.1, it is typically made up of several components: ◆ Servers that are connected to multiple networks, either via a single NIC or an LBFO team of NICs ◆ Servers that are connected to some form of shared storage (that is, shared SAS, iSCSI, or Fibre Channel), either via a single path to the storage array or via multipath Figure 8
