Taxes

The primary function of taxation is to raise revenue to finance government expenditure. Different countries have different tax systems. Income taxes in most countries are progressive. Estonia has had so far a flat tax rate which is quite unique in the world. The problem with progressive taxes is that the marginal rate- the tax people pay on any additional income - is always high, which is generally a disincentive to both working and investing. The higher the tax rates, more people are tempted to cheat. Some employers give highly paid employees lots of perquisites such as company cars, free health insurance, and subsidized lunches. Taxation Act in Estonia was passed in 2002. Taxes are divided into direct and indirect taxes. Direct taxes are income taxes, gambling tax, land tax, social tax and heavy goods vehicle tax

Truth or Dare ?

" If the queried player answers, "truth," then the questioning player asks a question, usually embarrassing, of the queried player. If the queried player answers, "dare," then the questioning player asks the queried to do something, also usually embarrassing. After answering the question or doing the dare, the queried player asks "truth or dare?" of another player and the game proceeds as before. The game may be expanded upon by adding additional options to choose from, such as making the dare apply to both the questioner and the queried, or incorporating Spin the Bottle to select the next person to be asked; this results in many different "variants" of the game, limited only by the players' creativity. The game's title is sometimes extended to reflect additional options, for example: "truth, dare, double-dare, kiss, torture or promise". When double-dare is chosen, the person chosen is

Mass tourism

habits, for example, many different food cultures and clothing styles are spreading all over the world. The main drawbacks of mass tourism are damage of the natural environment as visitors often leave a lot of litter in the countryside. In addition, they prevent local people from living peaceful and quiet life. Another negative effect of mass tourism is if the cultures mix too intensely, for instance, old traditions of local people are destroyed if tourists are changing them by time. An additional disadvantage of tourism is prices. When the loacation is popular then all kind of entertainment companies rise their prices. Taking everything into consideration, mass tourism has both advantages and disadvanages. However, it seems that local communities can benefit so much from it that the threats of mass tourism seem quite innocent.

5C’s of Credit

Capacity refers to your ability to meet the loan payments. The prospective lender will want to know exactly how you intend to repay the loan. The lender will consider the cash flow from the business, the timing of repayment, and the probability of successful repayment of the loan. Lenders will also consider payment history as an indicator of future payment potential. For example, if you have a history of not paying back loans then it becomes more difficult to obtain additional loans. Capital is the money invested in the business and is an indicator of how much is at risk should the business fail. Lenders will generally consider the company's debt-to-equity ratio to understand how much money the lender is being asked to lend (debt) in relation to how much the owners have invested (equity). A high debt-to-equity ratio also indicates that the company already has a high level of loans and could be a higher financial risk. Collateral is a form of security for the lender

WHAT IS A LOAN AGREEMENT?

WHAT IS A LOAN AGREEMENT? WHAT IS A LOAN AGREEMENT? The loan agreement is a contract entered into between the lender and borrower which regulates the terms of a loan. Loan agreements usually relate to loans of cash, but market specific contracts are also used to regulate securities lending. When an enterprise is in the process of starting or expanding, it will definitely require additional funding or capital. These finances can be acquired from financial institutions like banks or a third party willing to loan the money to the business. Where money is loaned to a business, the lender will want to have the borrower sign a loan agreement that explains essential issues regarding the loan. Most jurisdictions have specific laws and regulations that commercial lenders must comply with in order to offer loans to individuals, businesses, and other organizations.

reactors were subsequently restarted but all eventually shut down for good, with the last reactor closing in 1999. The Soviet nuclear power authorities presented their initial accident report to an International Atomic Energy Agency meeting in Vienna, Austria, in August 1986. Elimination of the consequences • Emergency crews responding to the accident used helicopters to pour sand and boron on the reactor debris. The sand was to stop the fire and additional releases of radioactive material; the boron was to prevent additional nuclear reactions. A few weeks after the accident, the crews completely covered the damaged unit in a temporary concrete structure, called the “sarcophagus,” to limit further release of radioactive material. • After the accident, officials closed off the area within 30 kilometers (18 miles) of the plant, except for persons with official business at the plant and those people evaluating and

Letter of complain - Dear Thailand Getaway representative

Bicycle rental was also part of the holiday package, but unfortunately there were no free bicycles to rent, which made me spend too much on transport. Also, the ride with the elephants did not go as planned, because the queue was long and I had to wait a very long time. I was also very disappointed by the beach, because the beautiful sandy beach you promised turned out to be dirty and very crowded. As this holiday not only caused me inconvenience and frustration, but also caused additional costs, I request you to compensate the costs incurred in the amount of 150 euros. I look forward to receiving your response. Yours faithfully, Mari Mets

Retell Global Warming

The Earth's climate has been changing constantly over its history. Once, all climate change occurred naturally, but recently, people have also started altering the climate. We are sending more and more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. The average global temperature has increased by about 0.5 °C over the past century. Scientist expect it to increase up to an additional 3 °C over the next on 100 years. People who are living in cold places may have a chance to grow new crops if the climate gets warmer. At the same time in some parts of the world, people won't be able to grow the food they need. Global warming will make the sea level higher because it'll make the glaciers melt. When water expands in the ocean, it takes up more space and the level of the seas rise. If global warming gets worse, some kinds of plants and animals will become extinct. So as a result we have to slow down the global warming.

Pros and Cons of School Uniforms

Secondly, school uniforms increase a sense of belonging and school pride. It encourages discipline, lessens economic and social barriers between students. Besides that there is no need to spend money on trendy clothes. Thirdly, school uniforms make students a target for bullies from other schools. In addition to that, uniforms give students no freedom of expression. Last but not least, school uniforms are an unfair additional expense for parents and besides that a financial burden for poor families. To sum up, it can be said that school uniforms have both good and bad sides. In my opinion, school uniforms are rather beneficial because they protect students from intruders and bullies and lessen barriers between students. Merit Vislapu 11R

Computers in every classroom

so on. It is doubtless that computers in classroom scatter students attention. Furthermore, computers damage students health. The rays what computer screen vomit are very harmful, so staring at computer screen too much will cause intense damages to people eyes. So from that viewpoint it is absurd to put computers to every classroom. On the other hand, computers in every classroom would make students life easier. They could take notes by computer and also look for additional information about lesson's topic and maybe learn more by that. In conclusion, I think that it is not necessary to have computers in every classroom, because they disperse students attention and also they are bad for students health. They could use computers in special computer's class.

Using computers for school subjects

Firstly, it is not necessary to have computers in every class. It is normal to have computers in Information Technology classroom, where students learn to use computers for their own good. Sitting in front of a computer screen all day, every day, is bad for students' health, it can damage their eyesight. Also, it will be too expensive. It would be difficult to buy computers for every student. Setting up and updating the software will create additional costs. If schools buy too many computers, there may not be left money to pay salaries for the teachers. Will it ensure the high quality of teaching? On the other hand, we are living in the 21st century and nowadays everything is done with computers. Computers can be convenient and useful. For example, they can help students search for information. In conclusion, I believe that computers are great inventions, but students should not use them in every school subject

Broadway

Broadway Broadway is a road in the USA of New York. Perhaps best known for the portion that runs through the borough of Manhattan in New York City, it actually runs 21 km through Manhattan and 3.2 km through the Bronx, exiting north from the city to run an additional 29 km through the municipalities of Yonkers, Hasting- On-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington and Tarrytown and terminating north of Sleepy Hollow in Westchester County. It is the oldest north–south main thoroughfare in New York City, dating to the first New Amsterdam settlement. The name Broadway is the English literal translation of the Dutch name, Breede weg. Poverty in World

This has resulted in a lack of basic access to food, water, health, education and other important social services. This is a major obstacle to equitable development. Poverty has also been described as the number one health problem for many poor nations as they do not have the resources to meet the growing needs. But poverty is not restricted just to developing countries. Industrialized nations are also seeing a sharp increase in poverty. While the current form of globalization is resulting in additional wealth, the disparities are sharp. Less people are turning out to be benefiting while an increasing number are left behind. Even in places such as Europe and USA, poor people still do not seem to get enough attention or resources to help alleviate their problems. Certain types of poverty in various European cities can be regarded as worse than in some other parts of the world which one would not normally think would compare with Europe, such as India.

The Importance of Pets

From an educational standpoint, when you get a pet you will have to take care of a creature which will depend entirely on you. Your pet's life is in your hands and this alone will make you a more responsible person. However, you will always need to keep an eye on your pet and this will restrict your ability to do other things. From a scientific point of view, most people who have pets enjoy better health than those who do not. Active pet owners enjoy an additional dose of exercise. Also, owning a pet will lower stress rates and it will prevent various types of illnesses. On the other hand, people who are allergic to pets cannot use this opportunity, because it brings more pain than good. From a psychological standpoint, pets can offer love and companionship. What is more, they enjoy comfortable silences and they can keep secrets. Moreover, people who own dogs have less fear of being victims of crime both when they are out with their dogs, and at home.

wear the same clothes. But it's not true - the bullys and other evil student will always find another reason to make somebody feel bad - like glasses, pimples or overweight. Second reason that schools have school uniforms is because of the gangs. They believe, when all of the children wear the same clothes, they will not have any gangs. But students communicate with each other outside school too, so gangs will still arise. Last but not least, school uniforms are an unfair additional expense for parents and besides that a financial burden for poor families. School uniform is usually expensive and childrens grow every year - so they need new school uniform every year! I think that students have the right to wear whatever they want. If school uniforms take away their freedom, they might never want to learn again. I like that we don't have school uniforms in Rakke Gymnasium. It's my freedom to be the person I want to be

Report to the Board of Governors

Report to the Board of Governors. Introduction The main principal aim of this report is to describe a fund-raising day organised for disadvantaged children and to make some recommendations for the next year. Methods of fund raising Our charity organisation has been going in for collecting money to support disadvantaged children in Britain already for seven years. There are some verified ways to collect money, such as a street collection, house-to-house collection and jumble sales. A large amount of money was raised by the house-to house collection. It`s about a 40% of the whole money we got for these children. Also income from the street collection is really nice as well 30%. So, a 20% of the pie chart I made takes the jumble sale and 10% - other ways of collecting money. Overview This year it was decided to organise a fund-raising day for the charity. It was the nice and cheerful time. Many people agreed to...

Taj Mahal

would take years to dismantle. According to the legend, Shah Jahan decreed that anyone could keep the bricks taken from the scaffold, and thus it was dismantled by peasants overnight. A fifteen kilometer tamped-earth ramp was built to transport marble and materials to the construction site. Teams of twenty or thirty oxen were strained to pull blocks on specially constructed wagons. The plinth and tomb took roughly 12 years to complete. The remaining parts of the complex took an additional 10 years. Facts: The Taj Mahal was constructed using materials from all over India and Asia. Over 1,000 elephants were used to transport building materials during the construction. The translucent white marble was brought from Rajasthan, the jasper from Punjab, jade and crystal from China. The turquoise was from Tibet and the Lapis lazuli from Afghanistan, while the sapphire came from Sri Lanka and the carnelian from Arabia. In all, twenty eight types of

tensile and shear forces into the still fresh, unreinforced concrete. The corrosion-protected cones can be re-used – only the tie rods and threaded anchor plates remain in the concrete. • Simple and flexible planning With PERI SKSF 240 and SKS 180 single-sided climbing formwork, circular structures can also be concreted without undergoing any large planning process. Even use on inclined walls is feasible without any special measures because additional concrete loads or lifting forces can be safely transferred into the structure. Silla ja tunneli raketis The Modular System for Engineering Structures PERI engineers have created ideal project and connecting method combinations from known tunnel, bridge and construction engineering load combinations, and developed this to form a versatile construction kit. This means load-optimized and geometrically-adapted supporting formwork can be built from a large selection of system components.

Turbo ja kompressor(inglise keeles)

to burn a given amount of fuel. This chemically correct mixture -- 14 parts air to one part fuel -- is essential for an engine to operate efficiently. The bottom line: To put in more fuel, you have to put in more air. That's the job of the supercharger. Superchargers increase intake by compressing air above atmospheric pressure, without creating a vacuum. This forces more air into the engine, providing a "boost." With the additional air in the boost, more fuel can be added to the charge, and the power of the engine is increased. Supercharging adds an average of 46 percent more horsepower and 31 percent more torque. In high-altitude situations, where engine performance deteriorates because the air has low density and pressure, a supercharger delivers higher-pressure air to the engine so it can operate optimally. Unlike turbochargers, which use the exhaust gases created by combustion to power the compressor,

their journeys into the city centre by road. The idea of building an underground railway to link the City of London with the mainline terminals had first been proposed in the 1830s, but it was not until the 1850s that the idea was taken seriously as a solution to traffic congestion. London Underground full map The Underground serves 268 stations by rail; an additional six stations that were on the East London line are served by Underground replacement buses. Fourteen Underground stations are outside Greater London, of which five (Amersham, Chalfont & Latimer, Chesham, Chorleywood, Epping) are beyond the M25 London Orbital motorway. Of the 32 London boroughs,

Advantages and disadvantages of living in the countryside

The air is fresh and the surroundings green. This is because the countryside is free from pollution, land or noise pollution. Living in the countryside has a lot of advantages, but also many disadvantages. The places where people live affects greatly in their lifestyles and living places is one of the very basic needs for people. Firstly you are fit and you don't need to worry about your health condition, because in the countryside the air and water are so clean. Another additional advantage is that there aren't any huge blocks of flats, modern skyscrapers or bothersome traffic jams. Living in the country is slower. People don't need to hurry and have a lot of time. The living cost in a country side is much lesser than that of a city. Most important advantage of living in the city is that it provides better education and career prospects. People in the cities are always under pressure and stress, they always have to be up to date with

Argumentative presentation: Estonia does need a nuclear power station

They only supplement the existing systems. The biggest problem is the the increasing cost, if the most optimal places are taken. There are problems with using nuclear energy. For example, nuclear proliferation, plant decommissioning and waste are among the top problems. However, it is greenest sustainable constant form of energy that Estonia can potentially afford. The fact, that Estonia has plutonium fuel resources available is just an additional bonus. To sum up. First of all i talked about how Estonia is facing energy crisis right now. Second of all I elaborated that there are no means to buy energy from neighbouring countries. For closure, I mentioned that although nuclear energy has problems, there might not be a better solution that is affordable. Thank you for listening and if you have questions, please ask them now.

How to write a Design Report

The technical review will likely have many citations to the source of the information with citations listed in the Reference section. Citations and references should follow ASME, IEEE or APA style. Design Requirements Here, you describe the most important, measureable design requirements that drove your solution to the problem. Generally, there are about five requirements that are at the core of the design. Additional requirements are described in an appendix. At the beginning of this section, describe the source of the requirements. Typically requirements come through researching customer needs or in some cases the detailed requirements are provided to the designer from the client. The design requirements are a central element to the design report and must be concrete, measurable criteria which can be tested. They should be based on a customer need. For

Resume (conception of studying and teaching in university)

and teachers approaches to teaching in higher education. Kristina Tairova HUM-IK-I NARVA 2014 Approaches to studying in higher education Research, carried out in Great Britain and Sweden in 1970 identified only three dominant approaches to study. ·A deep approach (understanding the meaning of materials and in my oppinion this approach includes additional studies, very serious way of learning) ·a surface approach (memorising the course materials, the most common approach) ·and the last one, a strategic approach (only grades make sense) But the same student can adopt different approaches, It depends on different things, such as personal interest, teacher, tasks. Conceptions of learning in higher education. ·Learning as the extending knowledge ·Learning as memorising ·Learning the main ideas of procedures
