See lugu tekitas energilise tunde, kuna sisaldas kiireid rütme, sellepoolest see mulle juba alguses meelde jäigi. Võrreldes teiste lugudega polnud see midagi nii hea, kui mulle siiski meeldis, kuna see sobis sinna konteksti. Võrreldes teiste kontserditega oli see mu jaoks tunduvamalt igavam, kuna minuarvates kindel teema puudus ja see hakkas juba meenutama telekast nähtavaid seebikaid oma suhtedraamade osas

Music • The history of music in Estonia dates back as far as the 12th century. The older folksongs, referred runic songs, are in the poetic metre regivärss the tradition shared by all Baltic Finns. These were gradually replaced by rhythmic folksongs in the 18th century. • Music as a whole is important for the Estonian people because it’s been a way for us to express our need for freedom and eventually getting this freedom this way. • The Estonian Hymn was written by Finnish Composer Fredrik Pacius who used the same notes for both writing the Finnish and Estonian Hymns. He suffered for over a week before he died on May 20, 1944, at age 15. Cash often spoke of the horrible guilt he felt over this incident. Cash's early memories were dominated by gospel music and radio. Taught by his mother and a childhood friend, Cash began playing guitar and writing songs as a young boy. In high school he sang on a local radio station; decades later he released an album of traditional gospel songs, called My Mother's Hymn Book. He was also significantly influenced by traditional Irish music that he heard performed weekly by Dennis Day on the Jack Benny radio program. Cash enlisted in the United States Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base and technical training at Brooks Air Force Base, both in San Antonio, Texas. Cash was assigned to a U.S. Air Force Security Service unit, assigned as a code intercept operator for Soviet Army transmissions at Landsberg, Germany.

Anglo-Saxon artists also worked in fresco, ivory, stone carving, metalwork and enamel, but few of these pieces had survived. Literature Anglo-Saxon literary works include genres such as epic poetry, hagiography, sermons, Bible translations, legal works, chronicles, riddles, and others. The most famous works from this period include the poem Beowulf, which has achieved national epic status in Britain. The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle is a collection of important early English history. Cædmon's Hymn from the 7th century is the oldest surviving written text in English. In all there are about 400 surviving manuscripts from the period. Religion The indigenous pre-Christian belief system of the Anglo-Saxons was a form of Germanic paganism and therefore closely related to the Old Norse religion, as well as other Germanic pre-Christian cultures. Christianity gradually replaced the indigenous religion of the Saxons in England around the 7th and 8th centuries

were doing or why. I can recall we cut out some pictures and glued them to a book and wrote some words up. I also recall the pronounciation was simplified for us, for example, they taught us "gööl" as the correct way to say "girl" etc. They never mentioned that it's not exactly correct... But well, then I switched schools and met the most important man of my life – my English teacher. He had three masters – in English, in German and in Physical Education. He had also written the school hymn. He was very stern with us and made us study like crazy. You made one tiny mistake, and it was "4", two mistakes made a "3" and so on. He was an awesome teacher. He said we can talk in his class as much as we want provided we do it in English. He also had us count the passing train cars in English, instead of Estonian. He made up the books himself, because there were none at the time, because the old books were full of "Ann is a Pioneer" and there were no new ones, so he

He was the first literary journalist and combined the life of a man of action and a writer. He wrote 'Essay on Projects' in which he recommended establishing saving-banks, building railways, allow higher education for women, 'The True Bon Englishamn', 'The Shortest Way with Dissenters' in which he attacked both the Tories and the church and deended religious freedom. For the latter he was sent to the pillory for three days. After that experience he wrote 'Hymn to the Pillory' in which he criticized the law. 'Robinson Crusoe' was published in 1719. It is based on the true story of Alexander Selkirk and is also autobiographical. Robinson is considered the first bourgeoisie character. He also wrote 'Roxana', 'Captain Singleton' and 'Moll Flanders'. Jonathan Swift (1667 1745) was born in Dublin to a poor family. committed suicide in Kadriorg Palace in Tallinn, in November. The outstanding achievements in music were the Third and Fourth Symphonies of Eduard Tubin.1 The Third (Heroic, 1942) is clearly connected with the spirit of folk music. The conductor Olav Roots wrote later: In the Third Symphony despair, defiance and anger are concentrated in the music, these feelings have seized the nation having lost its independence, but longing for freedom. The music becomes a passionate hymn, a powerful expression of self-consciousness and inner strength, a heroic appeal for justice.2 The Fourth (Lyrical, 1943) is Tubin’s last major work completed in Estonia. His lyric and intimate virtues are revealed to a greater extent than ever before. Olav Roots commented: Tubin has exchanged his masculine severity for mild pastel. Nordic night seems to spread soft light over homely nature; twilight removes the distinctiveness of its contours. 3
Old English Comes to Britain When the Anglo-Saxons invaded Britain in the mid-fifth century AD, they brought with them their language: Anglo-Saxon, Englisc, or Old English. Examples of Old English words are: shirt, sheep, dog, work, field, the, you. When the Anglo-Saxons were brought to Christianity in the seventh century, hundreds of Latin and Greek words were adopted into Old English, words such as hymn, priest, school, cook. In the ninth and tenth centuries the Viking invaders added their own Norse words: skirt, skin, get, leg, same, wrong. The Normans brought French with them. It became the language of the educated classes for the next two or three centuries. English continued to be spoken mainly by ordinary, uneducated people but was no longer written. By the end of the fourteenth century, however, English was once again a written language, because it was used
means "who presides at"—this latter being part of a title of the god Amon, "he who presides at Karnak." These procedures °f acrophony and the rebus are essentially those of ordinary Egyptian writing; it was through them that the hieroglyphics originally acquired their sound values. The Egyptian transformations merely carry them further, elaborate them, and make them more artificial. The transformations occur in funerary formulas, in a hymn to Thoth, in a chapter of the Book of the Dead, on the sarcophagus of the pharaoh Seti I, in royal titles dis- played in Luxor, on the architrave of the Temple of Luxor, on stele, in laudatory biographic inscriptions. There is nothing meant to be concealed in all this; indeed, many of the statements are repeated in ordinary form right next to the altered ones. Why, then, the transformations? Sometimes for essentially the same reason as in Khnumhotep's tomb: to impress the reader
