How far can we go being tolerant ?
One of our most valuable and rare qualities is tolerance . It is the ability to see things from the other side, capability to take our companions as equal and bravery to show out all those things. Just like all valuable things are uncommon, tolerance is rare too. It is caused by the fact that comparing to the previous centuries people have changed more self-centered and envious, forgetting others around .
Tolerance as a characteristic feature is an acknowledged ideal in today`s modern society. The democratic state is based on tolerance. Over the last few years the attitude against ethnic monorities has been a frequently discussed topic in Estonia. Russians, who settled in Estonia during the USSR occupation are causing economical, racial and religious conflicts between them and Estonians . Although Estonians don’t have any particular reason why we don’t accept Russians as equals, we are used to just unaccept them.
Religous percecution is a serious side of intolerance . Jew-baiting has been the bitterest case in history. Their percecution was caused by their antichristian beliefs and holding on to their own religion . Its culmination came during the World War II, when the massive Jew-baiting took place , known as the Holocaust. People’s,

The highest result of education is tolerance

The highest result of education is tolerance Ladies and gentleman! Today I will discuss a topic what is opened by a quote by beautiful Helen Keller: The highest result of education is tolerance. Today is the day you will understand that her quote is accurate. So I should probably start with a question. Why should we be tolerant to weird kids at school? Does anybody in this room know why?........Okay, let's just drop that question for now, we'll come back to it later. If I would ask you Where do we get our education from you all would probably say: From schools duuuh! But what is a school? Tallinn English College? Yeah, it is a school with all those fancy numbers with what you can become successful........but the greatest education comes from the life school where we learn about other people's views and thoughts. And

How far can we go being tolerant?

How far can we go being tolerant? Tolerance- it is the willingness to accept or tolerate somebody ot something especially opinions or behaviuor that you may not agree with, or people who are not like you. When we speak about tolerance and being tolerant, then of course all of us do not have the same opinion about tolerance. There is saying that there are as many different opinions as people in the world and talking about tolerance is not different. How we tolerate other people and their behaviour depends a lot of how we are raised and educated, where we live and who we connect to When we hear word ,,tolerant" then mostly we connect it with homo sexuals, racism,

acquainted with. The origin of a person is usually top priority. However, some people do not care where their friends are from and what the colour of their skin is. "Tolerance" is a noun with profound meaning. It has been built on an individual opinion, on the influence of friends and how the society affects people. Human nature is one-sided, because they believe in exact stereotypes of people and try to follow them. Many characteristics are also immediately being added to the person's characteristics according to its origin. It is better if you never evaluate anything by its appearance in order not to come to the wrong conclusion. People are very easily affected. Media and television are the main influencers. People today just watch television, read newspapers, magazines and take almost everything they say very seriously. Sometimes it seems that people's brains have been paralyzed by the media. They are

This means that you don't define your religion by saying "I'm not like those people over there." It means that you describe what you believe and practice it in positive ways, with as little reference to other religions as possible. Then again there are those who feel themselves comfortable and also special when someone is staring him on the street about his different race. That is a very rare but strong attitude and problems with self-confidence never appear. The basic right of every human being is the right for life. But what kind of life it is when you are being manipulated and teased for who you are. No one can choose for who they are born. No wonder it is considered as an art when you are being understanding and open- minded about the many differences of our world . Without prejudgement people would see and think like they really do, not by others and it is the best way to be tolerant. Because we should respect our culture, their culture and of course one another.

How far can we go being tolerant?

Tolerance is the ability to be fair and understanding to people whose ways and opinions are different from one's own. It seems like a good and challenging streak to have, but the question is, how far we can go with it. I would say not very far. More and more media and public encourage us to be tolerant to homosexuals and their lifestyle and many countries have actually made their marriages legal and tolerate them. Also, there have been numerous discussions on whether they should have the right to have, adopt and raise children. To me, it is absolutely unacceptable because this is not normal. They could have good facilities for bringing up children and lots of love to give them, but in my eyes it just is not suitable for a child.

Tolerance and Diversity essay

Tolerance and Diversity Janne Susi In today's world, the coexistence of different cultures is one of the most vital developments. Furthermore, the principles of tolerance and peaceful coexistence of different nations have often been underlined by the representatives of the European Union. The same ideas have lately been spreading in the Baltic countries. So, what are the main dangers to the tolerance and friendly coexistence in these countries? There are several phenomena which counteract the successful coexistence and integration of people from different cultural backgrounds. First and foremost, both coexistence and integration require a high level of tolerance from all those involved. Here, the major obstacle is often xenophobia which may be caused by a wide range of factors. As a rule, xenophobia occurs in big, mostly mono-cultural societies, where strangers are kept at a distan

Tolerance.

and you see him getting beaten up by a bunch of bullies without no apparent reason, what would you do? More then a few of us pretend as if they had not seen anything. I myself would feel awful, but I wouldn't know what to do either. Although I would condone myself with the idea, that life is difficult and it's just something you have to deal with. But does tolerance mean that all manners should be accepted? No, of course not. Manners that disrespect or hurt others, like being mean or bullying, or manners that break social rules, like lying or stealing, should not be tolerated. Tolerance is about accepting people for who they are -- not about accepting bad behavior. Tolerance also means treating others the way you would like to be treated. Nobody wants to be mocked or even be a victim of physical violence. In reality, we have no idea how much pain our small insignificant words can cause. We may think

Priorities of Estonian History

Russians and others viewed and view this event as an act of protecting, liberating, and rightfully claiming what is theirs." Such treatment should strive for neutrality, impartiality, and objectivity. It should strive for the truth as accurately as possible, despite some arguments that truth is relative. While depicting history completely correctly may be impossible, as innumerable moments, thoughts, and events make up history, there is still such a thing as being closer to the truth. Some history may be more false than others. The historian should judge this based on other evidence, explaining his or her reasoning for making this or that conclusion. Estonian history, then, is in need of greater inclusion. Taking a look at Toivo Raun's Estonia and the Estonians or Seppo Zetterberg's Eesti Ajalugu, it is apparent that the authors leaned more towards using Estonian, German,
