The rapidly changing human resources environment in the United States portends significant changes in the talent pool from which ONR will develop its future work force. In particular, women and ethnic minorities are a growing component of the professional scientific community. It is, therefore, incumbent on ONR to establish effective mechanisms to recruit and retain personnel from these groups and to develop a climate that is conducive to integrating diverse employees into a more productive organization. Because of that, in late 1994, the Office of Naval Research (ONR) asked the National Research Council (NRC) to provide advice on how to ensure diversity in its future

Same goes for the population, while Estonia has a shy of one million, UK trumps that with around sixty five million. It is caused by the fact that comparing to the previous centuries people have changed more self-centered and envious, forgetting others around. Tolerance as a characteristic feature is an acknowledged ideal in today`s modern society. The democratic state is based on tolerance. Over the last few years the attitude against ethnic monorities has been a frequently discussed topic in Estonia. Russians, who settled in Estonia during the USSR occupation are causing economical, racial and religious conflicts between them and Estonians. and religions. They do not like foreigners visiting London as tourists nor living there. Racism is most common among young people or in areas where many coloured people live. The most common act of racism is calling names. There are very many coloured people in London and it is offensive to call them "nigga", "negro" or "Japs". But calling names isn't the worst act of racism. Many immigrants get beaten up or bullied because of their religion or ethnic origin. Some get killed and commit suicide because of the bulling. I think that a person who persecutes somebody because of who he or she is isn't a smart one. It is important to respect other cultures and not to judge someone just because he or she is different from you. There are also people who don't mean to be impolite but tend to be because of their lack of knowledge. For example it is easy to mix up Japanese and Chinese.

St. Charles Church (Kaarli kirik)

missing were the steeples and the altar painting, as well as the proposed figures in the wall niches that actually haven’t appeared to this day. The most valuable and significant feature of Charles church is the large fresco decorating the apse. It portrays Christ calling out to people, ’’Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest’’ written above. It is known to be the first fresco in Estonia made by an ethnic Estonian, Johann Köler, who completed the painting in 10 days on July 23, 1879. The oldest parts of the church are the tower bells. The north tower bell is a gift from the Swedish king Charles XII from 1696, it is the only remainder of the first wooden church. The southern tower bell is a donation by businessman I. E. Steinberg from 1870. Today, the church is mainly focused on raising funds to renovate their famous Walcker organ, originally insatalled in 1924

Kas eestlased on kaotamas oma identiteeti kaasaegses globaliseeruvas maailmas?

raskematest. Mulle meeldis Alba (1990) identiteedi tähendus: ``the subjective orientation of an individual toward his or her ethnic origins'' ehk identiteet on alati subjektiivne arusaam ning koosneb indiviidi hoiakutest, väärtustest ja arvamusest oma päritolust (kultuurist).

In 1944 Russian air raids destroyed Narva, and one-third of the residential area in Tallinn was destroyed. By late September 1944, Soviet forces expelled the last German troops from Estonia, ushering in a second phase of Soviet rule. That year, Moscow also transferred the Estonian Narva and Petseri border districts, which held a large percentage of ethnic Russians, to Russian control. In 1944, there were massive arrests of people who had actively supported the German occupation or been disloyal to Soviet order. In May 8, 1990, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia (created the previous day) restored the Republic of Estonia. Through a strict, non-confrontational policy in pursuing independence, Estonia managed to avoid the violence which Latvia and Lithuania incurred in the bloody January 1991 crackdowns and in the border customs-post

Guyana shares similar interests with the islands in the West Indies, such as food, festive events, music, sports, etc. Guyanese cuisine has many similarities to the Caribbean. The food is diverse and includes dishes such as chicken curry, roti and cookup rice (a style of rice with different kinds of vegetables accompanied by chicken, beef or fish). The food reflects the ethnic make up of the country and its colonial history, and includes dishes from the Africans and creoles, East Indians, Amerindians, Chinese, and Europeans, mostly British and Portuguese. There is an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood on the coast. Most people use fresh fruit to make their own beverages, which are called "local drink." Fresh fish and seafood are an integral part of the food of the rural areas and small villages along the coast. They also like a crab soup.

because there are many immigrants from all over the world. As it is a widespread social problem it's also one of the worst ones, because the hatred directed to different races or even nationalities makes the foreign people feel bad and also to hate the locals.
