THAILAND GETAWAY 12/01/2008 Dear Sirs I have just returned from a holiday in Thailand Getaway. I am writing to express my annoyance about a number of points. First of all, the beaches were dirty and crowded. As a result, I didn't see any clean and free places where for suntanning. I like snorkelling, but you have not snorkelling equipment for all the family. Take a tour by elephant was impossible because queue was too long. Even bikes were out of order. All these points made me very annoyed. I insist on paying back a half of the sum I paid for the holiday. Yours faithfully M. Mets (Mr) words (109)

necessary equipment that I had to buy for myself. Bicycle rental was also part of the holiday package, but unfortunately there were no free bicycles to rent, which made me spend too much on transport. Also, the ride with the elephants did not go as planned, because the queue was long and I had to wait a very long time. I was also very disappointed by the beach, because the beautiful sandy beach you promised turned out to be dirty and very crowded. As this holiday not only caused me inconvenience and frustration, but also caused additional costs, I request you to compensate the costs incurred in the amount of 150 euros. I look forward to receiving your response. Yours faithfully, Mari Mets

Formal Letter

I just returned from my holiday, which was not what we were looking for. There were some problems I want to talk about, which was not mention in brochure. Firstly, when we arrived at the airport, there were not any coach waiting for us but brochure said that transfer was included. Because of that we had to take a taxi and it was very expensive. What is more, the beach was far from hotel which was unpleasant surprise. In addition, entire resort was crowded and very noisy but travel agent described it as quiet and peaceful area. Last but not least, our hotel room was tiny and not comfortable for three people to live in, it was dirty also. Furthermore, towels were dirty during our two weeks holiday. In conclusion, I think the travel agent should offer some compensation for us, because of false information in brochure and bad service in hotel. I am looking forward receiving your reply Yours faithfully

Firstly, if the park is sold to the property developer, he will built an estate of 50 houses on the land. As a result, there will be no open spaces left. Therefore, children will not have a chance to play freely, and people will have nowhere to walk their dogs or ride their bikes. Secondly, there will be less green areas in town. Obviously, this will be very unhealthy, as people need fresh air and natural surroundings for good health. What is more, the town will be crowded and built up. Consequently, there will be more traffic, pollution, and the town will no longer be a nice place to live. To sum up, I think it is a very bad idea. I hope the local council will take my points into consideration. Yours faithfully, Evelin Sepp

By the year 2050 people will be living longer because scientists will have found cures for many diseases. By the year 2050 we will be going to other planets because space travel will have improved. By the year 2050 we will be doing more creative jobs because computers will be doing the most boring jobs. By the year 2050 there will be no more rainforests as we will have cutted them all down. By the year 2050 people will be living in cities under the sea because normal cities become too crowded. By the year 2050 there will be more poor people as there will be fewer jobs. By the year 2050 crime will have increased as there will be more people whitout job. In conclusion, whatever the future brings, I belive that children's lives certainly be very diffrent in the year 2050.

Fast food

Eating fast food has became very common nowadays, because of people's life pace. People are often busy and it is easier to go to a fast food restaurant for few minutes than cook meal at home or wait for your meal at regular restaurant. A typical fast food meal consists of fries, a burger and a soft drink, which contains much calories and fat. Fast Food becomes even more and more popular. Fast food restaurants are found almost everywhere, specially in big cities and crowded places. It is very easy for people to go there. The food is often tasty and available for everyone, because of multitude of the rastaurants and low price of the food. It is very easy to go a fast food drive-in after exhausting day at work or on your way to somewhere. It is also possible to even order the food to your home, if necessary. Fast food is bad for our health if we eat it often. The meals contain much fat, which makes us gain weight

Advantages and disadvantages living in a city

There are theatres, shopping centres, galleries and entertainment places. In a big city there are also hospitals and schools nearby. Also it is much easier to find a job in a big city, because there are many companies, which are located in a central city. Of course, public transport in a big city is much more comfortable, than in a countryside. There are also many disadvantages of living in a big city. In the morning the streets are crowded, because everybody has to go to work and they only use cars or public transport, which means that there are traffics. Sometimes it's hard to get from one place to another, because it takes hours! Also there are many crimes and violence at night, so you have to be careful. To sum up i think that i rather live in the city and when i feel, that i need to relax, then i just go to the countryside and take some time alone.

The Advantages and Disadvantages of City and Country Living

However, some people, who approves living in country still lives in city. Cure for going against their wishes is that some people decorates their apartment or house with paintings of peaceful and bright-colored landscapes as it brings not only a sense of artistic consciousness to their home, but also makes them feel cosy and allows them to at least temporarily forget about daily routine and pollution, crime (especially in bigger, crowded cities) and noise they have to endure when they go outside. I'd say that it is disadvantages for living in a city. On the other hand advantages of living a city life are easier communication, access to stores and entertainment and possibility to get a good-earning job, which I prefer. Also your it is a good chance that your social circle can expand here, but in country people live far from each other and don't see so often new faces like in city.

London - The City and Beyond

London - The City and Beyond The statue of a bronze dragon on Fleet Street is the entrance to the City of London. This is where the Romans founded Londinium almost two thousand years ago. The City covers about 2,6 square km (1 square mile) and is often called the Square Mile. Today, the City of London is one of the world's most important business and financial centres, with over 500 banks. Over 400 000 people work within the Square Mile during weekdays and it is a crowded and noisy place. The Barbican Centre is a very big complex of buildings, towers, garages and walkways. It was built in the 70s and most Londoners don't like the way it looks. It is the largest performing arts centre in Europe and home to two symphony orchestras, and art gallery and the amazing Museum of London. Fleet Street once was a road between the City and Westminster. Then it became the centre of publishing and newspaper business for centuries.

outside the mission system, and Christian natives or "Mission Indians" and their descendants remained at the missions until the system was abolished in 1834. By then, sixty-five years of exposure to Europeans had reduced the number of California's native peoples by half to about 150,000. Although outright warfare cost few lives, Spaniards had introduced not only Christianity but also new diseases to which the neophytes had no resistance, and thousands died in epidemics. Crowded, harsh living conditions at the missions contributed to the Indians' health problems, and infant mortality and death rates among young children soared. It was the tribes of the coast, the "Mission Indians," who were most drastically affected. Tribes like the Modocs in the northern mountains had little or no contact with the Spanish and suffered little.

Habitat 67 is a one-of-a-kind housing complex located in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is built as a part of Expo-67. It was designed to integrate the variety and diversity of scattered private homes with the economics and density of a modern apartment building. The project was designed to create affordable housing with close but private quarters, each equipped with a garden. The building was believed to illustrate the new lifestyle people would live in increasingly crowded cities around the world. 8.Cubic Houses (Rotterdam, Netherlands) Architect: Piet Blom This is a housing designed on top of a pedestrian bridge. The main idea behind this is to create a forest of cubes (abstract trees) as each cube represents an abstract tree. The cubes are tilted and sit on hexagon-shaped pole structures. The cubes contain the living areas, which are split into three levels. The triangle-shaped lower level contains the living area. 9

Cities grew. Population Even today the big country is far from crowded. It is about the size of Unitad States, but its some 20 million population is less than four times as big as Chicago's. There are about 160,000 aborigines. More than half of all the people in Australia live in its eight biggest cities. Sydney and Melbourne are the two largest. Each one has about 3,000,000 people. Australia is a rich blend of varous ethnic groups, with substantial populations from Italy, Greece, former Yugoslavia, the Far East and Africa.

anything that can be used to steal your identity.[4] Social Engineering Social engineering is the practice of someone either in person, over the telephone, or computer, uses means to deceive someone else into divulging sensitive information.[5] Shoulder surfing Shoulder surfing is using direct observation techniques, such as looking over someone's shoulder, to get information. Shoulder surfing is an effective way to get information in crowded places because it's relatively easy to stand next to someone and watch as they fill out a form, enter a PIN number at an ATM machine, or use a calling card at a public pay phone.[6] Stealing personal items Identity thieves can also obtain your personal information by stealing your wallet or purse.[4] Skimming Skimming is the act of using a skimmer to illegally collect data from the magnetic stripe of a credit, debit or ATM card

My Town

Since then the height of the spire has been 124 metres. It is definitely an extraordinary building and definitely one of my favourite places in Tallinn. Town Hall Square is the age-old centre of Tallinn where many streets meet. It was known as the Big Market Place in the 11 th century, and the market itself was only removed to another location as late as 1896. over the centuries the square, lined with beautiful medieval buildings, was the centre of social life the most crowded place in the town with its market stalls, weigh houses, the pillory and so on. The square has witnessed executions, festivals, carnivals and wedding ceremonies. Town Hall Square has retained its old function: it is popular among tourists and local people as a meeting place or a starting point for sightseeing. It's also the location of Estonia's most important Christmas tree. Records state that a tree was first placed there in 1441, earlier than in any other European country.

While in the cab, Georgette makes a pass at Jake. Jake refuses her, saying he is sick. At dinner he explains that he received a wound in the war that makes such sexual dalliances impossible for him. Georgette exclaims against "that dirty war," but Jake is in no mood to talk about it. He escapes from the conversation when a group of his friends--Cohn and Frances among them--hails him from a nearby table. They invite him and Georgette to go dancing. The club is hot and crowded. Lady Brett Ashley arrives with a crowd of callow young men wearing jerseys. Jake reacts with hostility to Brett's male friends. Brett states that she can "safely" get drunk around these friends. Jake states that one of these men dances "big-hippily." He says that he knows he should be "tolerant" but that he cannot help being "disgusted"--the implication is that these men are homosexuals. Cohn asks Jake to go for a drink, and Brett joins them. Cohn immediately becomes infatuated with her, and

medical textbooks have been written to address this for providers. There are many organizations providing free care to the homeless in countries which do not offer free medical treatment organised by the state, but the services are in great demand given the limited number of medical practitioners. For example, it might take months to get a minimal dental appointment in a free-care clinic. Communicable diseases are of great concern, especially tuberculosis, which spreads more easily in crowded homeless shelters in high density urban settings. In 1999, Dr. Susan Barrow of the Columbia University Center for Homelessness Prevention Studies reported in a study that the "age-adjusted death rates of homeless men and women were 4 times those of the general US population and 2 to 3 times those of the general population of New York City". Statistics for developed countries In 2005, an estimated 100 million people worldwide were homeless.

Health

In ancient times temples dedicated to the gods of healing used to have a hospital area. Sick people came there to pray and be treated. Later in the Middle Ages hospitals attached to monasteries were run by monks and nuns. The oldest hospital still in existence is in Paris. It was founded in 800's A.D. In the 1700's European cities began to build hospitals. They were charity hospitals for the poor and sick, as the rich people were treated at home. The early hospitals were dark, crowded and very dirty, so it was very likely to be infected even more, when you went to be cured. The first hospital in Estonia was the hospital of Saint John, first mentioned in 1237. It was for the people who had leprosy. 2.2 Recent developments Many scientific advances have helped to improve patient care. Surgical and intensive care units now use electronic equipment. Modern hospitals are full of advanced equipment such as X-ray machines, ultrasound scanners and life-support machines.

Some parties win a lot of seats and some win very few, or none at all. The Queen, who is the Head of State, opens and clases Parliament. All new laws are debated (discussed) by MPs in the Commons, then debated in the Lords. and finally signed by the Queen. All three are part of Parliament in Britain. There are 651 MPs in Britain, but the Chamber of the House of Commons is quite small; it has seats for only 437, so when there is something important to discuss it can beeome very crowded and MPs squeeze on to the benches or sit on the steps. The House of Commons has a chairman, called the Speaker, whose job is to keep the House in order, a little like a referee at a football match. He or she shouts 'Order! Order!' when MPs start shouting at eaeh other, or when the discussion gets out of control. The Speaker sits in the centre at the back, on a high chair, and ecn see the whole Chamber from this positian. The office of Speaker is neutral, i.e
