Comparison . Jan Guillous’ ” Evil ”.
Evil” is based on a 1981 autobiographical novel by Jan Guillou. It is about a boy called Erik Ponti who had always had violence in his life. Whether he was beat by his father or was he the one being violent to others . After problems in school, his mother decides to send him to a private school, and in order to do so, she had to sell some of her precious items . Erik understand that the private school called Stjärnsberg is his last change to get a good education and he wants to stop being violent. He goes to Stjärnsbergwith great hope and at first , its seems that he could do really well. But after a while he understand, that the school is probably the worst place where to be, when you want a peaceful life. The teachers look the other way as the older students are very brutal to younger, creating a hierarchical society based on class and age.
The film was made in 2003 and directed by Mikael Håfström. Andreas Wilson plays the leading role of Erik Ponti. It has been named Best Film , Best Cinematography, Best Production Design (2004 Swedish Film Awards ); Audience Award for Best Feature (2004 Miami International Film Festival ). And it was nominated in the Best Foreign Language Film category in the 2004 Oscars. The plot of the film is basically the same as the books , but in the film, the director has tried to make Erik seem better. In my opinion it was unnecessary because although Erik was more violent in the book, he still made a positive impression . But in the movie some of the most important scenes were left out and the movie lost a lot with that. It seems that the director tried to make Erik seem like a non-violent hero or something like that.
At first, when I found out that “Evil” is going to be on TV, I was really exited in seeing it and finding out on how it had been produced. But after seeing it, I was somewhat disappointed, because as I’ve said, the producer left out some of the best parts. But those who hadn’t read the book and watched it with me really liked it, so I guess it was a pretty good film. On the other hand , one of my friend who had read the book, thought the same as me. So I guess I would really recommend the book, but I would only recommend the movie to those, who have not read the book.

Scott Pilgrim vs the world

"In Spaced we had a lot of fantasy sequences and dream sequences," Wright said. "Scott Pilgrim felt like the dream scene that never ends. I was really just kind of hooked on the first book and thought it would be amazing to try and do it as a film because it would be an interesting level of reality to doing a comedy and it starts in a naturalistic place but flowers into magical realism and insanity." `'Michael Cera plays Scott Pilgrim, who has to fight the seven evil exboyfriends of his new girlfriend (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). "I had sort of Jackie Chan style fights. We weren't going to do a lot of slomo sort of Matrix style stuff. So it's going back to doing like `80s Jackie Chan stuff and a lot of the team are from Jackie Chan's fight school. The tricky thing with this is that unlike a superhero film, you kind of have to hide in plain sight because nobody has masks. So there's obviously some trickery going on and some sort of stunt

Libraries

Libraries. We know a lot of things thanks to books, but we do not know exactly when and where they originated, and what should be considered the first book in the world. Ancient document, written on parchment, papyri and vellum can hardly be qualified as books the way we understand the word today. Centuries went before paper replaced parchment and papyri. In the 15 th century Johann Gutenberg invented a mechanical process of duplicating texts, which we today call book printing. The first book was printed between 1444 and 1446, so these years can be considered as the beginning years of book printing. His most important preserved printings are the 40 copies of the Bible. By the end of the 15 th century there were about 1000 print-shops in Europe already. The oldest Estonian book dates back to 1535. Libraries form a vital part of education. They make available-through books, films, recordings and other media- knowledge that h

Bad Teacher Elizabeth Halsey (Cameron Diaz) is a Chicago middle school teacher at the fictional John Adams Middle School who curses at her students, consumes lots of alcohol, smokes marijuana, and only shows movies while she sleeps through class. She plans to quit teaching and marry her wealthy fiancé, but when he dumps her, she must resume her job as a teacher. She tries to win over substitute teacher Scott Delacorte (Justin Timberlake), who is also wealthy. Amy Squirrel (Lucy Punch), a dedicated teacher and colleague of Elizabeth, also pursues Scott while the school's gym teacher, Russell Gettis (Jason Segel), makes advances on Elizabeth which she rejects.[3] Elizabeth plans to get surgery to enlarge her breasts, believing she is being overlooked for women with larger chests. However, she cannot afford the $10,000 procedure. To make matters worse, Scott admits that he has a crush on Amy, only viewing Elizabeth as a friend. Elizabeth attempts to raise money for the surgery by parti

Film Studies - The Black Dahlia

How genre and narrative makes meaning in ``The Black Dahlia`` When analyzing a film, people understand the movie is much more complicated than it seems. To make a difference, to give a meaning to the film, film-makers have used different visual and thematic features. There are macro features (genre, narrative) as well as micro features (mise en scene, cinematography) and they are linked together in many ways. I have chosen to analyse the closing sequence of ``The Black Dahlia``, directed by Brian de Palma, and I will focus on macro features in this essay. Brian de Palma is well known director, who is focused on noir area through his career (he was once considered as a Hitchcock imitator) ``The Black Dahlia" can be classified as Film Noir. The genre is called Film Noir due to the `serie noir` books, which were publised in France (bethween 1940s and 1950s). These books were translations of American novels by authors like Dashiel
