Generally, the house must be comfortable, if not luxurious, and quite well-maintained. It doesn't have to be fully furnished, as it would be even more exciting to furnish it by myself. However, some basic things like beds, stove and bath should certainly be in their place. As for extras, it would be perfect if the house had a nice lawn in front of it with some bushed shapes, and a little running track somewhere in the plot.
