Antique Garden Ornament Nimi Abstract Americans began to ornament their gardens in the early eighteen century, with the establishment of the great plantations of the Virginia tidewater and the estates of eastern Pennsylvania. These colonial landowners built handsome walls and gates, installed superb statuary and fountains, and arranged comfortable seating to give their grounds dignity and distraction. At the same time, New Englanders, too, began to beatify their gardens with elegant fencing, benches, and sundials. The creation of these early furnished gardens marked the beginning of a remarkable but little-known story, the history of American garden ornament. The two hundred years between 1740 and 1940 witnessed the creation of many important American gardens. This book will discuss the origins and development of American taste in terms of the ornament tha...

My ideal house I would like to live in a place where there are some mountains with snow on top of them and a sea nearby because i like beaches and mountains. My house would be in the middle of them, so i could see the sea from one side and the mountains from the other side of the house. The house would have two floors and a basement because that's all i need. On the first floor, there would be the living room with a big tv and some antique furniture, the kitchen, also with antique style oven and etc. A bathroom with a large bathtub and sauna, plus there would be a porch looking towards the sea. On the second floor, there would be at least four bedrooms where my family/children would sleep. One of the bedrooms would be for guests. There would also be a second bathroom. All the rooms on the second floor would be decorated with some antiquity in mind. As you can see i like antique stuff, but with modern technology

It grew into a town when the railway opened. There were no big houses, shopping centers or hotels, only small fishermen's cottages. Children played in the streets or made sandcastles. People used to swim in the sea or go for walks on the beach. Brighton is not a small quiet town anymore. Now you can find many 5-star hotels, cinemas, restaurants and small cafes by the marina. Brighton also offers a lot of people interested of history. They can also visit a lot of museums and antique shops. Nowadays, most tourists visit Brighton for a relaxing break in a seaside resort. Brighton has a lot to offer visitors of all ages.

Amy: Kate! You're back! Did you have a good time? Kate: Yes, thanks. York is so beautiful! Amy: Were you able to relax, then? Kate: Oh, definitely. It's much quieter and cleaner than London. Amy: How's that? Kate: Well, for one thing, cars aren't allowed in the city centre during the day so there's less noise and pollution. Amy: That's great! What did you do there? Kate: I visited the museums and did some shopping. The antique shops in The Shambles are fantastic. Amy: Sounds great! Kate: Yes, except when I got there I realised I had forgotten to take my camera, so I don't have any photos to show you. Amy: Never mind. You'll just have to go again, won't you? Mike: Louise, is that a postcard from Paula? Louise: Yes, and listen to this. You'll never guess what happened while she was on holiday in New York. Mike: Go on then, tell me!
But buying isn't always obligation to demand basic needs. Perhaps it cab be pleasure. Right now huge department stores and supermarkets are very poplar places. In there you can do everything, start the day with shopping and end with eating. Positive is that you can find almost everything in big shop. Very exciting places for shopping is marketplaces, flea market and street markets like Portobello Road Market in London. There you will find collectible and antique junk. If you find something interesting you can bargain about the price. Then you feel what is pleasure of shopping. Shopping is very annoying if you have to go to the shop when you don't want to go. Like with mother or girlfriend. They always have to try all clothes and shoes when they go to the shop or boutique. You simply wait and wait. Finally they decide to buy nothing and go to the another shop.(That is very irritating) Shopping cab be interesting or quite poring
(Friedlaender, 1952, p.16) Jacques-Louis David was born in Paris in 1748 as the son of an ironmonger. The leader of the French classical movement studied with the artist Joseph-Marie Vien. Although, he attained his real art education in Rome, where he was surrounded by ancient ruins and the masterpieces of great Italian painters. After returning to Paris in 1789 David started to shape his vision, connecting the themes from Antique with the themes of strict morality and heroic sacrifice. This was compatible with the new ideas of the French Republic and therefore David quickly turned into a national hero. When the French revolution started, Jacques-Louis David was as passionate towards politics as he was towards his art. He joined the National Convention, staged Republic marches and attacked the Royal Academy. His actions almost ended with him being guillotined but fortunately he was only sentenced a time in prison.

my dream house is very cozy, comfortable, well planned, with lost of gigantic windows. If you asked about rooms, I must say that I don't need many of them, but it is very important that all these rooms were as large as it is possible. The modern front door opens into a spacious hall, where are many portraits of family members, exotic flowers. As far as bedrooms they are very large, comfortable and elegant as well. There are soft, huge beds and many antique things. It makes me to feel comfortable. By the way, every bedroom has bathroom and toilet, which are spacious and modern. There are a majority of mirrors and wardrobes. There is no question that the accent of the house is living room, as it is the place where I can relax, watch TV, listen to music or just sit and look at the fire. In case I am speaking about my dream house, I must say that there without fail are sports hall with all

How sugar made it to Europe. Sweetness in older than sugar. Europeans and others have respected sugar for thousands of years. Prior to knowing sugar, our ancestors used honey and other sweet ingredients which were used as sweeteners. We know all that thanks to Mediterranean antique culture writings and bareljeefs . Oldest known sweetener is honey. In Arãna caves there are 12000 years old murals where are depicted woman honey collectors. As nowadays, womans used honey to make food, heal wounds and to make mead. At first our ancestors used wild bee's honey which was collected from their nests

The museum has a remarkable collection of over 100 miniature portraits, painted by 17th- 19th century Russian and Western European artists on bone or copper plates. Konstantin Tooming, an art collector of Estonian origin in Moscow, donated most of them to the museum in 1972. The display of sculpture in the Museum of Foreign Art contains works mostly from Italian and Russian masters (Pietro Tenerani, Matvei Tshizhov). The subject of the works ranges from the antique mythology to the portraits of outstanding people. The exhibition contains also furniture, porcelain, glass, and metalwork from 17th-20th centuries. Russian porcelain, displayed in a separate room, is especially well represented besides the works of the Western European factories like Meissen, Berlin, and Copenhagen. The museum has a rich collection of prints that will be the subject of future exhibitions. There are separate rooms in the palace that have been adjusted for arranging temporary

All the lights cleared except for the one for the top floor. He wore black again, with fine gray pinstripes. Seeing him from the back was a revelation. His shoulders were nicely broad without being bulky, emphasizing his lean waist and long legs. The silky strands of hair falling over his collar tempted me to clench them and pull. Hard. I wanted him as pissy as I was. I wanted a fight. "I'm not in the mood for you now, Mr. Cross." He watched the antique-style needle above the doors mark the passing floors. admire my truck again as I wanted; I was in a hurry to get out of the misty wet that swirled around my head and clung to my hair under my hood. Inside the truck, it was nice and dry. Either Billy or Charlie had obviously cleaned it up, but the tan upholstered seats still smelled faintly of tobacco, gasoline, and peppermint. The engine started quickly, to my relief, but loudly, roaring to life and then idling at top volume. Well, a truck this old was bound to have a flaw. The antique radio worked, a plus that I hadn't expected. Finding the school wasn't difficult, though I'd never been there before. The school was, like most other things, just off the highway. It was not obvious that it was a school; only the sign, which declared it to be the Forks High School, made me stop. It looked like a collection of matching houses, built with maroon-colored bricks. There were so many trees and shrubs I couldn't see its size at first. Where was the feel of the institution
