Choices after secondary school Many people are in the secondary school. After graduation there are two choices there to go: to the university or to work. In university people will get smarter and will have better jobs I future, but if they choose to go to work they can start independent life. Firstly, in university people will gain higher education. Educated people will get better jobs with bigger income. Also they can improve on their work and make career. People who have big income can afford their family better life, because they can bay all that is necessary. Secondly, people get smarter in university. Tel 64 58 933 65 Renard Square 12 October 2009 London SE6 WH9 Dear Sir or Madam Hello I am a student from Tallinn and I am looking for a summer job in the US. I was hoping that you could help me answer some of my questions. I have a lot of experience in construction work and also as a salesman, I have worked in several other jobs as well. I will send you my complementary CV later. First I would ask you what type of jobs do you have available in California? It doesn't have to be a construction or a salesman job, it could be something else too. About accommodation, how is it arranged, how much does it cost and how far away is it from the job location? I also wanted to ask you if the plane tickets are included and if they are not how much will they cost me. Another thing I am interested in is the work permit. What do I have to do to get it

How can we reduce air pollution levels in our cities?

How can we reduce air pollution levels in our cities? Is the air in our cities clean? Unfortunately does not seem like it. Air is getting more polluted every day and we are constantly breathing that air. We need to do something fast before it is too late. Firstly, there is too much traffic in the city centre and cars emit bad fumes. A good idea would be to introduce parking and riding schemes. In this way there will be fewer cars in the city centre and in longer perspective air will get a lot cleaner. Another problem are factories polluting the air. There are so many factories that there is always smoke covering the city. It would help if we could create industrial parks. In this way less smoke will cover the city. Also a big issue is rubbish being burned. It would be a good idea to introduce a recycling scheme. In result less rubbish will get burned.

Play sports and you get a lot more than a fit body

sports, others maybe not so much. Everybody needs some sport while growing. It is not only because the world today is filled with computers and people are always sitting by desks. Sport has many positive effects on people besides having a fit body. There is a saying that a healthy body leads to a healthy mind. Team sports show and teach how to work in a group, how to communicate. People who play sports can release some energy in the game also and they will be calmer, their decisions will be more calculated. Training regularly will teach how to divide their time between school or a job and training. I think that sport is a good way to teach a person some responsibility and consistence, too. To make some improvement in a certain sport a person has to keep training consistently. I would say that playing sports helps everybody to keep fit but there is much more to it. If we keep doing sports, then our ideas will stay fresh

An analysis of the problem of Political Power - essee

An analysis of the problem of Political Power Written by: Katre Kikkas Introduction It is said that in the political philosophy there are only two questions: ,,Who can have what?" and ,,Who will decide over it?". It is not exactly like that but it is quite close to the trough, to begin with. The first question includes material amenity's, and dividing rights and liberties.(Wolff, 1996) What is power? It is ability to influence others to do something they otherwise would not. Also, others can be affected with threats and force. (Kilp, 2010) Political power includes also right to force the others and to punish them if they disobey. Who should have that kind of power

Being positive

Being positive is very important for me. I always try to be positive, but it's sometimes very hard and doesn't go right at all times. Because of that I'll talk about a few reasons, why everyone should be positive. First and I think the main thing about being positive is that then I'll get along easier with my relatives, when I'm always beaming positive energy and I'm not negative. For example, when my friends are in a bad mood and I'm positive and cheerful, they will be happier too and then they maybe want to communicate with me better. The other reason is that I will cope more easily with my everyday problems because it brings optimism into my life and makes easier to avoid worry and negative thinking. Then I feel myself better and I will solve my problems too. Thinking positive is very important, but as I said it's also very difficult. It's hard to think

Friends have more Influence than Family on Teenagers

strong connections with other individuals their own age this may inherently play a role in how we act. The connection made between friends is usually much stronger than between family members. With teens, there is always a `rebellious' factor in play, which may make them adapt certain behaviors or ideas from our friends, in order to appease the inner rebel inside of us. Teenagers act according to the norm that is prominent in the group they are apart of. For example, the punk movement will possibly penetrate different groups and to feel apart of the group, teens will also dress accordingly. On the other hand, our parents behavior will have an influence on us, especially in our younger years. The way we are brought up and how our parents communicate with us is directly correlated to our development and later life. While it can be argued that friends will have the strongest influence on each other, one must not forget that we first befriend

Life in town vs Life in the country

Life in Town versus Life in the Country Lif in Town versus Life in the Country is different for all practical purposes. Most people live in Town perennially, although life in the Country would be more peaceful. Between Town and the Country, it is not right to say, which place makes people happier- it depends on us. Life in the Country is peaceful and pure. People who will locate to live in the Country, cold be a good relationship with nature. Life in the Country is easier in many ways: quiet, fresh air, cheaper food, comfortable. In the Country people don't live very close to each others, which makes life more peacuful, there is opportunity to feel privacy. Air is less polluted than in Town, which enlarge people lenght of life. own position. This creates problems because it is impossible to discover the players' true demand payoff curves. Suppose there is a street, on which 25 people live, and which suffers from a litter problem. A weekly street-cleaning service would cost $2,500 annually. Suppose that each person is prepared (i.e., able and willing) to pay $100 or more for the benefit of a cleaner street. If the service is engaged, everyone will benefit. However, it is possible that some people on the street will refuse to pay, anticipating that the service will be undertaken in any event. Despite the fact they may be prepared to contribute $100, they will claim that they are not prepared to pay, and instead hope that others in the street will pay for the system anyway, and they receive the benefit for no personal expense. The result is that it is possible no system will be installed, an example of market failure. This is despite the fact that allocative efficiency would be improved. Solution

Which is more important-sport or science?

the longevity of our stay in this universe? I am of the opinion that it is beyond a joke, it is no longer a laughing matter that those who exercise their brains instead of their bodies are so undervalued. Over the years I have gradually begun to view sport in a way that is slightly off kilter to the way I had viewed it as a youth. The arrogance of former sporting superstars is one thing and the godlike status they attain in the eyes of the populace is another. Where will these sports stars be in the event that we have to leave this planet because of the downward spiral of pollution? I will tell you where, in the most expensive and comfortable accommodation available on board the vessels that will disembark our planet. Just then to the reader this article may have taken a turn toward some sort of science fiction that they may think is far beyond anything they will ever have to care about. But the truth is we are almost at the point of no return.

Strawberries

Good morning! My name is Marianne Kümnik. I will be speaking today about strawberries. My presentation will last for about 10 minutes. Please can you save your questions till the end. Choosing Cultivars Some cultivars perform better than others, but it is difficult to predict which will grow best in a particular garden. Perhaps the best way to decide which cultivars to grow is to find out what works well for neighbours or local commercial growers. Before planting strawberries in a large area it’s good to try several promising cultivars Some cultivars that perform well: • Earliglow—perhaps the best-flavored cultivar, it is among the earliest to ripen. • Northeaster—ripens about the same time as Earliglow. It is resistant to red stele

Dear listeners, most of us here today are soon going to make the biggest and most important step of our lives so far. We are going to start a completely new and different life after graduation. The emphasis therefore should be on the word "life". The real thing, it's coming, it's going to hit us and it's going to hit us hard. Nothing is going to be the same. Life will never ever be as simple, carefree and easygoing again. To me, the expression "life is hard" has never meant anything. I have always been more of a "life is beautiful"-type. I have never really thought that it actually is hard. Mostly because I have never thought what the real life is like. Ofcourse I have seen it, it's all around me, but only seeing and seeing plus thinking through what you see are two really different things.

Essay about Chinese language taking over English

Will Chinese become more important than English in the near future? As David Graddol, a visiting professor in Hong Kong, says in "Will Chinese take over from English as the world's most important language?", he must often answer the questions concerning Chinese importance over English. Graddol states that China's economy is growing and it is already second in the world. In fact, it has become the largest exporter and first in energy consumption. In addition, China will presumably be the largest manufacturer soon. However, he questions whether Chinese language grows at the same pace as its economy. Graddol's teaching in Hong Kong starts with a lecture called "World Englishes". He notes that he wrote his book "The Future of English" in 1997, same year when China got Hong Kong back from Britain. Graddol reminds the students, how many things wasn't happened then: euro was not put in use, even Windows 98 was not ready

Shakespeare " A midsummer night's dream"

William Shakesepare ,, A Midsummer nights dream" William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Nights Dream is about love. Shakespeare creates for readers a world of wonder. How true is my love? Will it stay true? Is there a destiny for me? Do I make my own destiny? With that we see Hermia and Lysander. Their love is found to be altered throughout the story. Can you tell who you are going to love tomorrow, do you know for sure that you wont wake up tomorrow infatuated with someone else? Is love predictable? For many the answer to that question is yes but thinking logically you can't choose love. "I would my father looked but with my eyes." (Act I scene 1 line 57 Hermia). Hermia'a father

The Fear of Choosing The Wrong Major in University

One of the biggest choices a person has to make is to choose what they are going to study after high school. Many students decide to acquire vocational education and they have to choose which profession to pursue, whether it be, for example, learning to become a technician or a hairdresser. However, a bigger majority of teenagers decide to go to university. But before doing so, teenagers have to be certain what kind of study program they will be taking. This puts young people under a lot of stress, because they have a lot of doubt and fear. For example, over the years, there has been an increase of people, who have decided to study Information Technology in University, including myself. The increase has been due to the immense labor shortage in Estonia and the high salaries students will be earning after university. For me these are not the reasons I want to study IT, but because I am genuinely interested in developing new

Article: Estonians

Estonians... Estonia is quite a northern country and therefore Estonians may seem a bit peculiar to ones from south, but don't be scared, they will not eat you (alive). Estonians are quite tranquilly and bottled up people - they might love or hate you and if you're not an expert will not make a difference as they didn't care at all. Rarely tend they to kiss or hug each other unless their beloved ones. So if they nevertheless do it then there's a great chance you're dealing with some non- Estonians. But there's no reason for worrying- if a person is from a region where that kind of over-loving-behaviour is common and he or she practices it anyway then a bathetic Estonian will just bear it and play along.

and that monitor radiation from mildly radioactive gas injected into the bloodstream. Blood flow pattern depends on what the patient does ( different pattern is found when person is reading aloud, yet another when he watches a moving light and so on). Ambiguous sights and sounds: The way ambiguous figures are perceived often depends on what we have seen just before. For example, if we are first shown an unambiguous figure of a rat, the ambiguous picture will be seen as a rat. If we are first exposed to an unambiguous face, we see the ambiguous figure as a face. What holds for visual patterns also holds for language. Many utterances are ambiguous. If presented out of context, they can be undestrood in several different ways. For example, ,,The mayor ordered the police to stop drinking". · May be a command to enforce sobriety among the population at large · May be a call to end drunkenness among the police force

Global Warming

warming. Global warming, also often referred to as the greenhouse effect, has not always been a problem. However, over the last centuries, since the Industrial Revolution things have changed. Polar regions are melting, species are dying, climate zones are shifting, migration patterns for animals such as polar bears and birds are being disrupted our world as we know it is changing. Some scientists believe that the climate will reach a tipping point, a point at which even a tiny additional increase would throw the system into violent change. We started doing harmful things and only now do we realize what we have done and what we are doing. At this current rate by the middle of next century the Earth's temperature may rise a predicted from 2 to 6 degrees Celsius. This may not seem as much but with the Earth's delicate balance we will have lost several species and habitats. Scientists are worried that

Learning foreign language - Why is it necessary?

In the future I would like to learn french and Swedish but first I should learn to speak Russian and English correctly. If we travel, we anyway communicate with different people and it's easier to make contact than we can speak language very well. And communicating with different people make our world-view larger. If your partner, relatives or friends speak a different language, learning that language will help you to communicate with them. It will also give you a better understanding of their culture and way of thinking. I When you move to a different country or region, learning the local language will help you to communicate and integrate with the local community. Even if many of the locals speak your language, for example if your first language is Estonian and you move to the France, it's still worth your while learning the local language. Doing so will demonstrate your interest in and commitment to the new country

The letter to Australia

3 Aprill 2011 Hi Nipitiri! It's been such a long time that I haven't written to you ! Don't worry, it doesn't mean that I had forgotten you. I hope that You had a great time in Australia. I have never been in Australia, so I want to ask some question from you. I hope you don't mind and you will have a time to respond to the letter. I have heard that there is a weird and wonderful musical instrument called a didgeridoo. Did you saw it? How it looks? And how they play it? I'll like if you will talk to me about it. It seems a very interesting instrument. Australins have a strong sense of humour and I have read that they will tell anti-English jokes to the English, anti-lawyer jokes to the lawyers and anti- mother-in-law jokes to mothers-in-law. Is is true

Kas minna ülikooli või tööle

Most of the students who graduate from secondary school have a big question ahead of them whether to go to university or start working. If you go to work then you probably will not start learning in the further life but if you go to university then you have more time to think what to do with your life and how you want to live it. So, which option is wiser? If you go to university then firstly you will learn a specific job which you will probably do very well in the future. If the field of study is smartly chosen then it would be really easy to find a good job and to earn much money. Secondly, it is widely known that you will get a lot of new friends in the university and it is good to know people who like the same things you do. Futhermore, nowadays the universities have many exchange programs which let you see the world and to improve other languages.

Essee teemal "I am buying myself an apartment"

if it is located in Tallinn’s old town. The apartment should definitely have excellent view to the old town, it should be large and wide. I would love, when the apartment is in old house and if it is renovated, but still has some vintage style. The most important thing is that the apartment has to have two or more floors. Good dream, huh? In fact, in old town, there is an apartment that fits to my requirements – apartments like that are expensive and I have to get a loan. I decided that I will take the loan from Swedbank, SEB or LHV, because they offer a loan, that has better conditions. So, let’s hope that I have gathered very much money – around 500 000€. My dream apartment costs around 750 000€ – so I have to get 250 000€ from bank. I think that Swedbank has the best offer, because you can choose interest by yourself and what is more important – you can get the insurance too, other banks don’t offer that. I have to have certain salary – at least 600€.

Report-Suggetions for the shop

To: John Howell From: Merike Aasmäe Subject: Suggetions for the shop Date: 1st May 2012 Purpose The purpose of this report is to recommend ways to make the shop more profitable. Interior Firstly, one suggestion would be to make in your shop some innovations by changing it modern. A visual revamp of your retail shop interior will make your business feel and look brand new, and attract a whole new customer base. The interior design is a very important consideration so you need to give it a big thought. Background music Secondly, I think it would be useful to use background music in the shop. Background music keeps customers comfortable and relaxed. Keeping your employees happy is just as important as doing the same for your customers. Without good employees, you'll never be able to reach the

Belling The Cat (Inglisekeelne luuletus koos tõlkega)

At least they wished to find some way of knowing when she was coming, so they might have time to run away. Indeed, something had to be done, for they lived in such constant fear of her claws that they hardly dared stir from their dens by night or day. Many plans were discussed, but none of them was thought good enough. At last a very young Mouse got up and said: "I have a plan that seems very simple, but I know it will be successful. All we have to do is to hang a bell about the Cat's neck. When we hear the bell ringing we will know immediately that our enemy is coming." All the Mice were much surprised that they had not thought of such a plan before. But in the midst of the rejoicing over their good fortune, an old Mouse arose and said: "I will say that the plan of the young Mouse is very good. But let me ask one question: Who will bell the Cat?"

There should be compulsory school subjects. Students should be allowed to choose the subjects they want to study. Do you agree?

Do you agree? Essay There are many different subjects in school. Most of them are compulsory. Students have to learn them, even if they are not interested. Perhaps they should be allowed to choose subjects that they want to study. On one hand I think that subjects shoudn't be compulsory in high school because peolple should concentrate on the subjects that will be useful for them in the future. For example: for a person who wants to study Polish philology, maths and physics may not be important. Students should be given the opportunity to take their future into their own hands. So choosing a subject for student who hae had first hand decisions on what to do in high schools will be determinated for them and their career. On other hand, young people usually don't know what they will do in the
