A letter to host family

and is in sixth grade in Pala primary school. After finishing highschool I plan to go to Estonian Aviation Academy, but I am yet to make up my mind concerning my future area of specialization. So, at the moment, I would like to take some time out of academics to have a different life experience, and to have time to calmly reflect on my future academic/professional orientation. To this end, I think spending a year abroad would be particularly interesting. My first language is, of course, Estonian, but I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school at 3 grade and by watching movies I have improved my vocabulary a lot. I speak an intermediate level of Russian. I began learning it in fifth grade and all in all, I have learnt Russian for 6 years. I am nevertheless aware that learning a language within a classroom context is by itself, incomplete. So, in order to really be at ease in English, I feel that a cultural immersion would do me a lot of good

For and against studying abroad

It is always nice to have a place to stay when you accidentally end up in Japan or Australia for a few days. Being an exchange student is also a fabulous chance for travelling. Getting to know a new country so well is definitely not possible during a holiday or a short visit. Besides living in a new culture for a long period of time will teach you more about the culture than reading any book about it. Studying abroad is also a great way to master another language. When you suddenly find yourself immersed in a world where everyone speaks another language, you may find yourself immersed in a world where everyone else speaks another language; you may be scared out of your mind. But this wears off and before you know it you'll be fluent. An exchange student will also get more independent. When you study abroad, there is no going home to your parents, when you feel lonely or need to get your dirty laundry washed. You are on your own

Edulugude võistlus

participated in a work shadow day. I remember that I had to fill in different forms, concerning the subject of the theme. I got back an answer that they do not have anynobody to offer me at the moment. Although they attracted my attention that I had a chance to apply for the crowns of the work shadow day, for who was a really tough competition. I saw there was even the foreign minister. At that moment I instantly knew that I really wanted to be his work shadow. I dared to write my motivation letter and also sent my CV. Days later and I got a phone call, telling I was elected to be the working shadow of the foreign minister! Later I found out that for his place was the toughest competition in Estonia. I had an unforgettable day with the foreign minister and its all because I had enough selfconfidence in myself. This is a small example, but I want to say that you shoul never be afraid of doing something ambitious, even when others do not have faith in you. It
