●Died in  January  28 1547.
●Is the 2nd son of  King  Henry VII and  Elizabeth  of 
York.
●Was  crowned  King  at   Westminster   Abbey, 
London, on the 23 June 1509 at the age of 17.

Early life
●Not  much  is  known  about  his  early  life,  because 
he was not  expected  to become king.
●Around  the  age  of  ten  his   brother    Arthur   died, 
thus leaving the  crown  to him.
●He also  married  his brother‘s widow,  Catherine  of 
Aragon .

●He was a great king and he loved all his  subjects
And England loved him as a king.
●But he wasn't interested in kingship but in arms, 
armor,  sports , and  women .
Wanted  to be a solider.

King Henry didn't look like this all the time, he 
used to look like this when he was younger.
The wives
Catherine of Aragon
●Was married to Prince Arthur, but he died.
●Then married Henry VIII on 11 June 1509.
●They were married 24  years
●Had a daughter  Mary  Tudor .
●Gave  birth  to six  children , but  five of the died.



Later  Henry found a new  lover  Anne  Boleyn , so 
he decided to devorce from Catherine.
●But the  Roman  Catholic Church did not approve 
of divorces.
●So, he decided to break from the Roman 
Catholic Church and make England a Protestant 
country .
●And made himself The Supreme Head of the 
Church of England.
Anne Boleyn
●Married Henry on 25 January 1533
●Had  a  daughter  Elizabeth  who  later  becomes 
Queen  Elizabeth I.
●Henry was disappointed, because he wanted a boy.
●Later Henry  lost  intest in Anne and
●wanted to get rid of her.
●Anne Boleyn was then accused of
●infidelity (truudus) and treason against the King and 
then beheaded.

Jane Seymour
●The  first  wife to give birth to a boy
●King Edward VI.
●But later she died just two weeks after her son 
was born.
●Henry was depressed, but happy  because of his 
son.
●She was the only wife to be buried  with Henry.
Anne of  Cleves
●Henry saw her portrait and liked her.
●Married Henry on 6 January 1540
●But Henry didn't like her looks  and had a  divorce  
soon after.
Kathryn Howard
●Sixteen  days after he was free of
●Anne, Henry took  Kathryn Howard, on  July  28, 
1540.
●Henry was 49 and his bride was no older than 
19.
●But Kathryn didn't like Henry and had affairs with 
other men.
●Because Henry was fat old and an ulcerated leg.
●But soon she was caught and executed.

●The  final  wife of King Henry
●Was nice  to Henry and
●took care of him.
●Outlived Henry
●Only a few months after Henry’s  death , Katherine 
secretly married Thomas Seymour.
Later years
●He was  ruthless  and egotistic.
●Later Henry became obese, with a  waist  
measurement of 54 inches (140 cm)
●He had to be carried
●Had a lot of diseases  like  gout  Type II diabetes
●He had a lot of problems because of a jousting 
accident in  1536 .

Death
●Henry's obesity hastened his death at the age of 
55.
●28 January 1547 in the  Palace of Whitehal
●His last words where: "Monks! Monks! Monks!"
●Buried in  St George's  Chapel  in Windsor  Castle  
next to Jane Seymour.

It replaced the native ruling class with a foreign, French-speaking monarchy, aristocracy and clerical hierarchy. This in turn brought about a transformation of the English language and the culture of England. As the rulers were from France, England linked more closely with continental Europe. It also paved the way for further Norman invasions in Wales and Ireland. *The House of Normandy (kings, centuries) ­ William I Conqueror (11th century), William II Rufus, Henry I (12th century). To claim the English crown, William I invaded England leading an army of Normans to victory over the Anglo-Saxon forces at the Battle of Hastings. His reign brought Norman culture to England and had an enormous impact on the course of England in the Middle Ages. William II was an effective soldier, but a ruthless ruler. Henry I had scholarly interests. His reign is noted for its political opportunism.
