What methods should parents and governments use to tackle obesity in schoolchildren? At the beginning of 21st century obesity amongst has become a major issue in many highly developed countries such as Germany and United Kingdom. Kids are participating in less physical activities then before and food that has high sugar and fat content is easily accessible for them. Thanks to modern day society it does not seem like the rates are going down themselves any time soon. What could government and/or parents do to make youngsters lifestyle healthier? One approach that parents should consider is to influence their children to part-take in a heathy lifestyle. It is probably true to say that kids who are used to eating junk food and low physical activity are more likely to become overweight sooner or later. By changing living habits and stepping up as good role models parents should adapt food that is beneficial and doing sports into norma...

and democratic countries. However, when it comes to university, or higher education, there are many different approaches taken. In some countries (such as Finland and Sweden) higher education is still free. In other countries, higher education is purchased like any other service. In many countries (such as the UK and the USA), fees are charged to students but how much of the cost of education these cover varies greatly. Often governments offer loans and financial support to help students pay these fees. However, more and more people want to go to university, putting student funding systems under pressure. So should Governments charge fees for higher education, or provide it for free? Government should charge fees because it is well known that the `education' is often only a small part of the university experience. Students spend far too much time and money drinking, partying and wasting time

The court system is divided into three levels: courts of first instance (county and city courts and administrative courts), courts of appeal (circuit courts) and the Supreme Court which also functions as a constitutional court. Estonia has a multi-party system with numerous parties, in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and parties must work with each other to form coalition governments. Support eco-friendly businesses and buy products that are either recyclable or have a longer durability. 3. Ozone layer depletion As with potable water depletion, the responsibility for stopping the ozone layer depletion lies on the shoulders of individuals and governments alike. People can contribute by not using products that contain human- made substances that destroy ozone molecules. Governments, on their side of the fight, can ban the use of said substances, as well as enforce regulations that make sure the equipment that contains them is safely disposed of.

The ,,ambulance chasing" lawyers who are involved in this sort of legal chicanery get rich because when they win they can win simply billions. Innocent defendants know that they have a choice: they either spend years fighting the case or else they settle out of court. Many small businessmen have gone bust because they cannot afford the premiums they've been expected to pay. Public services have deteriorated still further as central and local governments are forced to spend an increasing amount of money and time fighting or settling legal battles brought by people who have seen a small piece of misfortune as an opportunity to get rich quick. Definitely you can't forget to mention the most normal people from whom comes out greedy evil geniuses, who cleverly defraud companies/governments. Naturally, many people have sought to get rich quickly without having to undergo the pain and inconvenience of an accident

There are 3 main institutions involved in EU legislation:
Macroeconomics can also be useful. · The economicwell-being of all consumers, rich or poor, is affected by movements in interest rates, exchange rates, and the rate of inflation. · Businesses stand to gain or lose considerable amounts of money when their economic environment changes, regardless of how well they are managed. Macroeconomics is relevant to voters who · wonder what their governments are up to · can also help governments avoid the worst economic crises Economic growth is one of the most exciting issues in macroeconomics. The list of reasons why economies grow: · population increase, since more people can produce more output. · accumulation of means of production: plant and equipment, roads, communication networks, and other forms of infrastructure make workers more productive. Most important is the development and harnessing of knowledge to economic ends.

The United States is the world's oldest surviving federation. It is a constitutional republic and representative democracy. The government is regulated by a system of checks and balances defined by the U.S. Constitution, which serves as the country's supreme legal document. In the American federalist system, citizens are usually subject to three levels of government, federal, state, and local; thelocal government's duties are commonly split between county and municipal governments. In almost all cases, executive and legislative officials are elected by a plurality vote of citizens by district.

In 2009, the website's founders were put on trial in Sweden, charged with facilitating illegal downloading of copyrighted material. They were found guilty and sentenced to a year in prison with a fine of 30 million SEK (2.7M or US$3.5M as of 2009). In fourteen countries, ISPs have been ordered to block access to the website. But governments of different countries can't close the website because this service website change the domain after every two months and in some countries the piracy is allowed, like in Switzerland. At the moment the website's domain is ending with .SE(Sweden domain). Downloading quality and speed depends of people who's downloading and uploading and seeding the files. committing crimes. It is a cruel and cold blooded form of punishment and there have been instances where innocent people were sentenced to death and later found to be innocent. Why is it wrong? Capital punishment is a barbarous survival from a less enlightened and refined age; it is incongruous and incompatible with our present standard of civilization and humanity. It has been abolished by many states and countries, and we must look forward to the day when all the governments will follow this. It's a murder. The first question that comes to mind is, is it ethically acceptable to kill someone? When you execute a person, what is the difference between you and the criminal who has committed the crime of killing another individual. Furthermore, capital punishment can be inappropriate and unjust. It's not necessary. There is always a solution to the problem, instead of putting people to death sentence we could simply put them behind bars as he or she may improve himself
definitions. Depending on the actual compound, drug misuse including alcohol may lead to health and social problems: such as injuries, unprotected sex, violence, deaths, vehicle accidents, homo and suicides and mortality. Drug abuse makes central nervous system effects, which produce changes in mood, levels of awareness or perceptions and sensations. Some drugs appear to be more likely to lead to uncontrolled use than others. Bans Most governments have designed legislation to criminalise certain types of drug use. These drugs are often called "illegal drugs" but generally what is illegal is their unlicensed production, distribution, and possession. These drugs are also called "controlled substances". Even for simple possession, legal punishment can be quite severe. Laws vary across countries, and even within them, and have fluctuated widely throughout history.
This young branch of industry started developing in the second half of last century, when people had more money and sources than ever before. Importance of tourism to countries such as Egypt, Greece and Spain can not be questioned, as employment, service industry and opportunity to sell goods, is related to it. Tourism has also helped to build up certain regions, which otherwise would still be struggling in poverty. Futhermore, to make country desirable destination, governments have to keep crime rate under control, which makes life safer for locals as well. On the negative side, relentless waves of tourists increase our carbon footprint. Transportation increases pollution and creates gridlocks. Often big hotels consume unreasonably large amount of water, while locals are left in dry. And after all, tourist are not the ones who suffer from the effects, locals are. Tourism has its positive and negative sides. It is important part of today's economy, as many
References 10 2 The Political Problem A common example of a free rider problem is defense spending: no one person can be excluded from being defended by a state's military forces, and thoes free riders may refuse or avoid paying for being defended, even though they are still as well guarded as those who contribute to the state's efforts. Therefore, it is usual for governments to avoid relying on volunteer donations, using taxes and, in some countries, conscription instead. In the case of defense spending, alternative perspectives of the free rider problem also exist. A free rider may be an individual or group of military contractors, ideologues, government officials or lobbyists that inflate the risk of enemies, or even convinces the state to launch an unnecessary and expensive war, in order to sell more arms and consolidate their power
When the trees are cut down, animals have no place to live or hide themselves from the hunters, so many of them become extinct. Trees, including forests play an important part of the air, that we breathe, cause they produce oxygen, so the less trees and plants, the less oxygen. But there are often held planting campaigns, where people plant their own tree and during a few years, the trees are high enough, to form a new part of the forest. But still new trees will be cut down again, thankfully governments make sometimes laws to control deforestation. Some forests are changed into nationality areas, so in order to cut trees down or hunt animals, people must ask permission from the governments. Rubbish Finally, there is the problem of rubbish, that we get in contact with every day. We can see litter mostly lying in the streets, but also in the reservoirs and in the forests. This is mostly
that are difficult to dispose of and impossible to recycle. Greenpeace studies the effects of these chemicals on water, air and the human body and advocates substituting safer alternatives for dangerous materials. 3 Logging and clear-cutting of ancient forests drive species of plants and animals toward extinction and threaten the lives of people whose survival depends on the forest's resources. Greenpeace protects forests by educating the public about the origin of tropical woods, holding governments accountable for clear-cutting and even by camping in trees to stave off loggers. 4 The world maintains an armory of 30,000 nuclear weapons, and several countries actively pursue the technology to develop even more. Greenpeace's first mission protested nuclear testing, and the organization continues doing it.

There are many ohter International payments in addition to those related to exports and imports of goods and services. For example, transfers occur across bordersas well as within economies. Governments make transfers to foreign governments and organizations. These government transfers are often referred to as foreign aid. Private individuals and organizations also make cross-borders transfers. Private transfers have grown rapidly in recent decades as immigration has expanded. Many immigrants move to other countries specifically to earn higher incomes and transfer part of those incomes back to family in their native countries. A lot makes important moves currency . Mikk Hödemann 12.d klass English Parliament What can I say about the English history at all? I think that this is the most interesting history I had to study. During this subject (British civilization), I discovered some exciting facts, occasions which took place in the British history. One of these "discoveries" was the English Parliament. I was amazed how fast it grew within the centuries, from eleventh to seventeenth centuries. The political history of British Isles over the past 800 years has been largely one of reducing the power of the monarchy and transferring authority to a London-based Parliament as the sovereign legislative body for all of Britain. This development has resulted in political, social and religious conflicts, as well as evolving governmental and constitutional institutions. The early political history of the British Isles is the story of four independent cou...
Today, the United States has two major political parties. One is the Democratic party, which evolved out of Thomas Jefferson's party. The other is the Republican party, which was formed by people in the states of the North and West, such as Abraham Lincoln, who wanted the government to prevent the expansion of slavery into new states then being admitted to the union. Most Americans today consider the Democratic party the more liberal party. Democrats believe the federal government and the state governments should be active in providing social and economic programs for those who need them, such as the poor, the unemployed or students who need money to go to college. Republicans are not necessarily opposed to such programs. They believe, however, that many social programs are too costly to the taxpayers and that when taxes are raised to pay for such programs, everyone is hurt. They often accuse the Democrats of making the government too expensive and of creating too many laws that
We live in a constantly changing world There seems to be no stability or certanity about anything. Nations rise and fall, governments come to power and tumble, armies march and retreat, healthy people become sick and on and on the world goes. On the one hand the world we are living in is amazing, because science, medicine, technology, and so on are advancing at an ever-increasing pace. It has made our lives much easier than it was 100 years ago. For example we have phones, television, fast cars, eco towns, highrise buildings and so on. But on the other hand the world can also be frightful. People are starving, and do
change drastically their personality. That is why we can not prevent all crimes every time or build a perfect society: because we are still plain humans. But we can improve on an environment by providing a higher level of education and security. In doing so, there will be a decrease in the attempts of crimes, since a higher level of social development was properly provided. Our world is well known by having a high level of poverty and all sorts of crimes. This is a consequence of bad governments that hav not provided the least welfare throughout the centuries. So, i agree with that statement. However, in my opinion our goverment has been doing some progress regarding crime prevention and social development. In its turn, even in a decent society no lacking primary needs there will be another kind of crimes, apparently harmless, such as: political corruption, bribery, money laundering, extortion, etc. The
sustainability is an ethical imperative to pass on a undiminished future to our children. To bring our world toward sustainability — or any other goal — we need to take different kinds of steps, which require different kinds of knowledge, talent, skill, and work. Future will be sustainable when citizens are concerned enough about the environment that they want to make a difference. It will happen when diverse groups from industry, environment, schools, service clubs, business, governments & the public come together and work towards a common vision of sustainability for our communities - balancing the needs of human and natural systems. My vision is of a world free of war, hatred, and greed. It is a world in balance with nature, a place where poverty and starvation have been abolished and replaced with equality for all. It is a time where we have liberated ourselves from the grip of racism and discrimination and embrace individual and cultural diversity
and poor countries. Currently they don't have to compete with the efficient and skilled Word. They have arranged their own monopolies to make the best financial gains and most comfortable lives. With globalization they would have to work hard to maintain their income and they cannot exploit poor people as they will have better incomes and employment due to globalization and would not have to depend on politicians and governments. This behavior is used mostly in third-word countries and also in China and India.
radical agenda, with no presumption of balance or objectivity. Little note: Publishers, owners and other corporate executives, especially advertising sales executives, can try to use their powers over journalists to influence how news is reported and published. Journalists usually rely on top management to create and maintain a "firewall" between the news and other departments in a news organization to prevent undue influence on the news department. Legal status Governments have widely varying policies and practices towards journalists, which control what they can research and write, and what press organizations can publish. Some governments guarantee the freedom of the press; while other nations severely restrict what journalists can research and/or publish. Journalists in many nations have some privileges that members of the general public do not; including better access to public events, crime scenes and press conferences, and to extended. rules of social and moral behaviour); rules we accept if we belong to a particular institution (religion, organization); laws imposed on people by a government Penalties for breaking the rules are different. For not following the customs there may not be a punishment, or a person may be criticized by the society; rules of a social institution tend to carry precise penalties but they are not enforceable by any political authority; however governments use a system of courts backed by the power of the police to enforce the laws they have made. The relations between people are regulated by a combination of all these rules. One of the ways to classify laws is to separate them into prescriprive and descriptive law. Descriptive laws simply describe how people usually behave. For example law of gravity- if a person throws an apple up in the air, then it’s very likely that it falls down again.
respect for others. The amount of money you have doesn't show if you behave well or poorly. Manners and classy behavior are not bought, they are taught and practiced by parents who want their children to be decent and well-mannered. Money can buy you entry into a better class position, but it cannot make you behave as you should. If money could buy peace there would be no wars or conflicts between different countries. Even if the governments spend money to make the world more peaceful place it still won't work as they really want. Peace isn't something you can buy or make with money. It's about treating others fair and humanely, just as we want others to treat us. And as I said money can't buy good behaviour which is the base of the peace. Unfortunately people find there more desires connected with money but we should me aware of valuable things that we can't buy. Every person should sometimes think further from
than 45 years. WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 5 million members globally. b) Animal Rescue Facilities provide homes for animals in need. They are not being sold, transferred or used for breeding. Where possible, many animals are placed in habitats together to enrich their lives by sharing their home with others of their kind. To sum up, there are over 10,000 endangered species around the globe, who can still be saved. In order to do this, governments should raise awareness of environmental issues and introduce laws forbidding hunting, restricting land development or creating preserves, because nowadays the future of nature is in the hands of man.

Domestic Recycling Through ship sales offers and direct fee-for-service solicitation. The program awards ship recycling contracts to seven domestic ship recyclers. 2. Artificial Reefing The Maritime Administration accepts applications from coastal States, U.S. Territories and possessions and foreign governments for use of obsolete NDRF vessels as offshore reefs for the conservation of marine life. The Maritime Administration may provide financial assistance for specific domestic reefing projects. Artificial Reefing Example A big ship is sinking near of Honduras coast at 5th November 2002. power. It is a chamber composed of 650 members (Members of Parliament or MPs ) elected by universal suffrage. The life of a Parliament is five years. According to an ancient tradition, MPs are elected by universal suffrage under a system of relative majority, in one round of voting. This means that the candidate with the most votes in an election is elected, whether or not he or she has an absolute majority of votes. This system favors the major political parties, and stable governments - at the expense of smaller parties. Elected Members of Parliament do not have a deputy, so in the event of the death, resignation or removal of an MP, a "by-election" must be called in order to elect a new MP. Each MP represents a territory, or constituency: the link between an MP and his or her constituency is symbolically and historically very important , and in the House of Commons, Members are not called by their name, but by the name of the constituency from which they

Acid rain is rain or any other form of precipitation that is unusually acidic. It can have harmful effects on plants, aquatic animals, and infrastructure through the process of wet deposition. Acid rain is caused by emissions of compounds of ammonium, carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids. Governments have made efforts since the 1970s to reduce the production of sulfuric oxides into the Earth's atmosphere with positive results Since the Industrial Revolution, emissions of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides to the atmosphere have increased.[2][3] In 1852, Robert Angus Smith was the first to show the relationship between acid rain and atmospheric pollution in Manchester, England.[4] Though acidic rain was discovered in

Get some good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and hoof it! 3. Ride Your Bike --- If you need to travel a greater distance, take your bike. Again, it's good exercise, it feels great and it's fun. 4. Take a Bus --- Many communities have a public transit system. We all need to use and support public transit, because if these systems are used adequately they are more energy efficient than cars, and they help reduce wasteful traffic congestion. If we increase their use, the governments will increase the frequency and convenience of the schedules, which in turn will further increase their use, thereby discouraging individual car and truck traffic. 5. Plan Ahead --- Reduce your driving by planning ahead and combining several small trips into one, whenever possible. Over a year's time, your savings in energy, money and time could be substantial, while your part in traffic congestion shrinks. 6. Live Near Your Place of Work or School --- If it takes more than 30 minutes to

Rapid global warming can affect an ecosystems chances to adapt naturally. What have governments around the world been trying to do about it? Climate Change Flexibility Mechanisms · Flexibility mechanisms were defined in the Kyoto Protocol as different ways to achieve emissions reduction as part of the effort to address climate change issues. These fall into the following categories: Emissions Trading, Joint Implementation and Clean Development Mechanism. · However, these have been highly controversial as they were mainly

This is something that has had me in two minds for a very long time, why does humanity waste so much time and money on sport and the pursuit of sport when realistically it is just a sideshow, a morale booster for the masses? The sheer volume of money spent each year on sports are actually absolutely ridiculous. Sports have become a monster that is beyond our control. This happens as legitimate scientific research struggles to find funding or a struggle along with tiny handouts from patronising governments around the world. Space exploration is probably the prime example in that it is now, at this stage of human development, more important than ever before that we find ways to make space inhabitable. But instead NASA has become a bit of a joke to the public and space exploration the stuff of B- grade horror movies. The question we have to ask ourselves is this, do sports stars really deserve to be paid five times the salary of a scientist?

! ! ! ! ! Pay-for performance: necessary or unsuitable way to increase efficiency in the public sector Through history civil service has meant and cited many different forms of serving a country. Raadschelders and Rutgers (1996) have brought out five phases in their article “Evolution of Civil Service systems” that describes how civil service has evolved and become one of the most important part of governing. In different times civil service has supported monarchs, kings, presidents and governments in their work reigning, ruling and leading people. Role of civil service has increased by every age- becoming more and more wider in tasks, obligations and responsibilities, so have the cost that it all brings. Considering this, governments nowadays have a task to evaluate the work of their civil service, to make it more productive and cost-effective. For this, different methods have been discussed, being influenced by different contexts, religion and other factors.
