Beryl Bainbridge – “Master Georgie”
The story is set between 1846 and 1854, it tells the story about Cirmean War from the British point of view.
The story has 3 narrators: Myrtle, the adopted sister of George Hardy ; Dr. Potter and Pompey Jones
The main character of the book is of course George Hardy aka. Master Georgie. He is attractive, intelligent and bisexual. He is a surgeon, also, he is an amateur photographer .
There are 3 other main characters :
  • Myrtle – the adopted sister, who Master Georgie absolutely adores, Myrtle is the only one in the book referring to George Hardy as Master Georgie, she constantly follows him around and never lets him out of her sight
  • Dr Potter - sententious geologist who eventually marries another of the Hardy children , he, like Hardy is also an intellectual
  • Pompey Jones – He is a street performer, and also he learns photography from Hardy, as a child he used to steal things from people and return them for a reward
I find it strange , that the book is titled “Master Georgie” because the main character is mostly referred as “Hardy”, “George Hardy” or “Mr Hardy”. Myrtle is the only one calling him “Master Georgie”.
Mr Hardy leaves his affluent lifestyle in Liverpool , where he is heir to a fortune, to go to war at Inkerman in the Crimea. He believes "that the war would at last provide him with the prop he needed." His story is told by Myrtle, Dr Potter and Pompey Jones, who’s lives are changed by a sudden death of Hardy’s father in a brothel in Liverpool in 1846. The 4 characters don’t want to break Hardy’s moms heart so they want the fathers death to seem like he died calmly in his sleep . The following changes Myrtle’s, Dr Potter’s and Jones’s life completely .
“At night all cats are grey ”- Dr Potter
“Likeness is none between us, but we go to the self- same end.”- George Hardy

Levitt's Arthur does battle in an anti gravity hotel hall way spinning, flying, and running sideways down the wall. After the amazing achievement of Nolan's super hero epic The Dark Knight, the bar was set high for whatever project he decided to unveil as his follow up, and what Nolan has done with Inception has even raised the bar higher. The picture perfect cast, the ground-breaking visuals, the classic score by Hans Zimmer, and the confidence of Nolan as a master storyteller make Inception not only the best film of the year so far, but what may be a celebrated film for years and years to come. Hats off to Nolan for daring to dream bigger, and delivering a masterpiece. Punane elavhõbe "Punane Elavhõbe" (red mercury in English) was announced as an Estonian historic crime movie about mafia and underground brutality in the 90's. "--ibid. Kipling soon learned to read and found solace in literature and poetry, voraciously turning to the magazines and books his parents sent him including Daniel Defoe's Robinson Crusoe. Wilkie Collins' The Moonstone and works by the likes of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Bret Harte also left an indelible impression on Kipling. Respite from the Holloway household was gained when he spent one month a year in London with his mother's kindly sister Aunt Georgie and her husband, pre-Raphaelite painter Edward Burne Jones and their children. Those months of December were a veritable paradise to Kipling; North End House was constantly brimming with visiting friends and relatives, and the homey and artistic effects of the affectionate couple were everywhere. Their home echoed with laughter and the patter of little feet or was eerily hushed as the children raptly listened to fantastic stories told by Edward. They also played the
