Chaplin now slowed the pace of his films, reduced the number of visual jokes but increased the time spent on each one. Chaplin placed the emphasis on the character rather than slapstick events. The themes of his films became more serious and reflected his childhood experiences of poverty, hunger and loneliness. Chaplin's work revolutionized film comedy and turned it into an art form. Chaplin's films were highly successful and became a household name throughout the world. Charles Chaplin died in Switzerland on 25th December, 1977.
Charlie Chaplin was one of the greatest and widely loved silent movie stars. From "Easy Street" (1917) to "Modern Times" (1936), he made many of the funniest and most popular films of his time. He was best known for his character, the naive and lovable Little Tramp. The Little Tramp, a well meaning man in a raggedy suit with cane, always found himself wobbling into awkward situations and miraculously wobbling away. More than any other figure, it is this kind-hearted character that we associate with the time before the talkies. Born in London in 1889, Chaplin first visited America with a theater company in 1907. Appearing as "Billy" in the play "Sherlock Holmes", the young Chaplin toured the country twice. On his second tour, he met Mack Sennett and was signed to Keystone Studios to act in films. In 1914 Chaplin made his first one-reeler, "Making a Living". That same year he made

Analysis The book describes her as being unremarkable in the way she looks. The film preserves this premise and therefore maintains the importance placed on her character. The film's interpretation of the harsh manner Mr. Brocklehurst and the rigid strictness of the school are the same as the novel. There film deviates in two ways, however. Firstly, the way in which Jane's relationship with the school authorities develops is less evident in the film. Thirdly, getting the most out of myself is easy, when I have a goal, vision or an objective. I find it helpful to break a big goal into smaller parts that are easier to achieve. It might seem like a mental strain to write a book, but if you start by creating one character, then carry on by putting that character into action and building an environment to suite the activity, the task does not seem that daunting anymore. I always follow that technique and I have not yet found any assignment or challenge impossible. Therefore it is not the level of difficulty of the task that determines the result, but rather the way of thinking.
