Sample Letter to the Editor Letter to the Editor [ Date ] [ Newspaper Name ] [ Newspaper Address ] [ RE: Headline and author if you're writing in reference to a story OR "Performing Animals in the City of _______" ] Dear Editor: While circuses and traveling shows featuring wild animal acts may seem innocent enough, it has become apparent over the past decade that wild animal acts are inherently cruel and unsafe. Most circuses and traveling shows that use wild animals keep them for months on end in cramped transport cages, sometimes hardly larger than they are, with only brief periods outside to perform. The animals have no opportuni- ty to move or behave in a natural way. That's why veterinarians, animal behaviourists, biologists and animal welfare organizations around the world have condemned wild animal acts. Circuses and traveling shows with wild animals also pose a risk to human safety. Numerous circus employees have been...

A letter of complaint Dear Ms Maddox, I am writing to draw your attention to a product that I have bought from your online shop. The product I am talking about is an iPhone. Firstly, I would like to point out that the most annoying things are that the screen colour is totally wrong and I am unable to receive any new messages. Secondly, I have to say that the on/off switch gets stuck almost daily, so I can not use my phone like I should be able to use it. Thirdly, I have encountered some problems with the sound and also with the camera. That means the camera will not focus and I can not hear any ringtone at all. I hope that you will come up with a reasonable soultion. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours sincerely, Mati Mets
Description The eastern border of Livonia was mainly formed already in the first half of the 13th century and the first belt of fortresses here was probably ready by the end of the 13th century. The first fortresses were not built on the border but further inland. The first decades of the 14th century brought no changes in the situation. Early in 1340 the relationship with Russians deteriorated again. Provincial master Burchard von Dreileben planned a campaign against Pskov and demanded the help of Tartu bishopric. The provincial master began to build another belt of border fortresses. On the Annunciation Day, March 25, 1342, the building of fortresses in Marienburg and Vastseliina began. The latter was called the fortress of the Virgin Mary, but it soon acquired the name of New (vastse) Town (Castrum Novum, Neuhausen, Nyhusen, Nowogrodek). The name is probably the result of a chronological comparison with the older Kirumpää fortress. T...

A Letter of Application Dear Madam, I am writing in connection with the appeal in Internatioanl Crisis Agency. According to the appeal, you are looking for volunteers to help the animals in danger of extinction. Although I am not a professional veterinarian, I would like to volunteer. Dear Sir, My name is ... I am writing this letter following my stay at your hotel, Hotel Titanic. I stayed in room 603 from September 3rd to September 10th. I am wiriting becouse of the poor level of service and overall an unpleasant experience. When I first got to the hotel, I had to wait for 15 minutes in the reception before a young woman came, and helped us book in. Throughout my stay I was served mediocre food. The bathroom wasen't cleaned properly and the room servise was pretty bad. The room servise rearly changed my bed sheets and towels. There were 6 power-cuts wich each lasted for atleast 2 minutes. Worse still, I had an extremly noisy neighbour who was entertaining his visitors until 4 AM, two nights in a row. I even complained to the manager but that didn't impove the situation until the third day. Overall the stay wasen't worth the cost but I am not asking for a chargeback. I just hope that you will improve your customer...

Dear Mr. Roberts, 14/01/2016 I am writing this letter to protest against the recent decision to close down the schools art studio. I would like to let you know that I truly believe it is a bad idea. First of all, the studio offers a large variety of services that aspiring artists can use. Very few students can allow themselves to have this opportunity and kind of equipment at home. Further more, the instructors in the studio help young promising artists discover and develop their talents. Secondly, the art studio is situated in an excellent place and is open round the clock, which is very convenient for the students as it allows them to relax and study there without going too far away from the school. The venue can also be used to host exhibitions where artists can demonstrate their works of art. Thirdly, I feel that it is my responsibility to let you know, unless the arts department’s decisio...
Dear Sir/Madam, My name is (your name) I am writing this letter to explain my purpose in applying to The Green School in Bali, Indonesia. My wish is to start studying in your school for a year. I am currently studying at (your school) in Estonia. Our school is steeped in nature subjects, like biology, chemistry and geography and we often take lessons outdoors. Our teachers also plan different trips to nature preservs, national parks and to the woods. So I think it would be very useful to me to study in your greenest school on earth and I can share my experiences and knowledge with your school and students. I am applying to the Green School for several reasons. I am usually dealing with music, but I have taken part of chemistry workshops for a two years. My wish is to improve my English skills about green thinking and ecology. I also want to learn more about this holistic vision what you are practising on your students. I have never h...
Letter Dear Madam, Thank you for writing, I am tryinig to answer your questions. We will leave at 12.15 from pier. To reach the place, you must first go along to get to the roundabout, then turn right at the first opportunity and then go along until you see the pier. We will departure at 12.30. When we arrive, we should walk through Castle Bridge to Tower Island and back, but unfortunately you have no time to take a walk. I would suggest that this time we will only walk to Castle Bridge and get acquainted wiht the sights and then we will come back. We should return to London at 14.30, but the coach arrives at 14.45, then we can get on the island faster or we can wait for the next coach. It can also be decided locally. You asked me about vegetarian option. Of course we also offer vegetatrian food, but for this we would need a approximate list of several students, who want vegetarian food. Na...

Firstly, I simply adore travelling and take every opportunity I can to visit different countries. My last trip took me to the Finland where I met a lot of interesting people. Secondly, there are some countries I am dreaming to visit some day in the future. I would really like to travel to Japan. I would love to visit a country which has very rich traditions and culture. There are very proud and generous people. I would like to see some festivals there and also visit some old castles and temples. Also Japan is known for its robots and technical gadgets. And of course I like to see citylights in the night and go shopping to big centres. Shibuya 109 is a mutli-storey shopping centre just for teenage girs. Dear......, Thank you for your letter. It was nice to hear from you. I am writing to inform you that I have already found a very nice house where you can spend your summer holiday. Firstly, the house is not very close to me, but it is located in our area. The address is 32 Beech Lane, Deighton. It takes about 5 minutes by bus and 20 minutes on foot to get my place. Also, the house is located near the Comarket and behind the park. So it does not take much time to go to the shop and you have a very good opportunity to go jogging in the morning. Further, the rent is not expensive, only 800£ a month. Secondly, the house is very nice and spacious. It is a new stone building house or as the owner calls it, a castle. You do not have to worry about furnish, because it is fully- furnished. It has 2 floors and it contains 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Then, it has a large dining room with fireplace, modern fitted large kit...
Dear Neander Taal, Once again, I find disappointment. Once again, I find no satisfaction. Once again, I find that my motivations for writing this letter are not of insult or hatred, but of the deepest love for mankind and the truest concern for its future generations. It is requisite, even in this summary sketch, to go back a few years to see how I admit I have a tendency to become a bit insensitive whenever I rebuke Laivi Tuvahe for trying to leach integrity and honor from our souls. While I am desirous of mending this tiny personality flaw, by brainwashing her apologists with anarchism, Laivi makes them easy to lead, easy to program, and easy to enslave. I would like to comment on Laivi's attempt to associate hooliganism with Dadaism. There is no association. Should we be concerned that Laivi wants to destroy that which is the envy of--and model for--the entire civilized world? I'll answer that question for you: Yes, we shoul...
