Witness Report
As I was walking along Western Road about 11.00 on Saturday morning I saw a red car pull up in front of me and two men jumped out and ran into Woolworths. I didn’t really pay any attention until I heard screams coming from inside the shop .
When I got closer I saw one man holding a gun while the other emptied the cash register. I couldn’t see them very well, but one was fairly tall with brown hair and sunglasses and the other was shorter with very short blond hair. They were both wearing jeans and were about 22 years old, so they could have been students . There was another man in the car who had been waiting with the engine running, but I couldn’t see what he looked like. I think they must have panicked at that point, beause they came running out without waiting

A lamb to the slaughter

Lamb to the Slaughter by Roald Dahl (1916-1990) The room was warm and clean, the curtains drawn, the two table lamps alight - hers and the one by the empty chair opposite. On the sideboard behind her, two tall glasses, soda water, whiskey. Fresh ice cubes in the Thermos bucket. Mary Maloney was waiting for her husband to come him (correction: home) from work. Now and again she would glance up at the clock, but without anxiety, merely to please herself with the thought that each minute gone by made it nearer the time when he would come. There was a slow smiling air about her, and about everything she did. The drop of a head as she bent over her sewing was curiously tranquil. Her skin - for this was her sixth month with child - had acquired a wonderful translucent quality, the mouth was soft, and the eyes, with their new placid look, seemed larger darker than before. When the clock said ten minutes to five, she began to listen, and a few moments later, punctually as always, she hear

Dey Bared to You RuLit Net

Sylvia Day Bared to You Sylvia Day Bared to You The first book in the Crossfire series, 2012 This one is for Dr. David Allen Goodwin. My love and gratitude are boundless. Thank you, Dave. You saved my life. Acknowledgments My deepest gratitude to my editor, Hilary Sares, who really dug into this story and made me work for it. Basically, she kicked my ass. By not pulling her punches or letting me shortchange the details, she made me work harder and because of that, this story is a much, much better book. BARED TO YOU wouldn't be what it is without you, Hilary. Thank you so much! To Martha Trachtenberg, copy editor extraordinaire. This book is an important one for me and she treated it that way. Thank you, Martha! To Victoria Colotta, for all her hard work on the i

Sisters

Sisters Creasha was sitting alone in her room. It was silence outside, yet she felt that something was wrong it was too quiet. Her older brother, Denis, had always said that too much silence was dangerous even for the hunter. That is what Denis was a bounty hunter. Creasha looked at the paleness of her sleeping twin sister Suzan and thought that it'll be six months soon as mom and dad left the country and their children to the Fate. Well, the reality wasn't so dramatic, since they were politics whom had to travel a lot. Creasha and Suzan weren't small any longer, 16 is almost as good as grown-up! But Denis never thought so; he still cared about his little sisters, as they were babies in his mind. A sudden voice broke the silence Creasha had almost fallen asleep in. Suzan opened her eyes as well and whispered," I've heard this sound before, it's dad's car." In a couple of minutes the twins got dressed. Suzan, who had short, red hair

conversation. Nancy told them the appearance of Monks and the others, and where to find them. Rose stated that she recognized the Monks as the one seen with Fagin at the window by Oliver. Nancy makes them swear that no harm will come to her friends, and they say that they only want to get their hands on Monks. Mr. Brownlow offers again to help Rose but she declines. They leave, and soon after, Noah leaves to go report his story to Fagin. Chapter 47: Bill Sikes entered Fagin's residence early that morning only to be told of what had transpired between Nancy, Rose, and Mr. Brownlow. She had revealed where they were located and what they looked like and Fagin made Noah tell the story to Bill.
