Whale

Whale There are 13 species of great whale and several species of smaller whales. Whales are large, intelligent, aquatic mammals. Whales have many features that we- other mammals have. Such as four-chambered heart, hair, they are warm- blooded. They are the only mammals, other than seacows , that live their entire life in the water, and the only mammals that have adapted to life in the open oceans. Whales are not fish, because they have lungs and they breath air with them. What is special about the whales is their size. They are enormous

During the late summer and early autumn whales swim close to the coast and are sometimes seen in the harbours. But of course the best way to spot these huge mammals is at sea. Whale-watching tours are offered in several towns in Greenland. When you sail along the coast on a passenger ship, the captain will often notify you when whales are close. There are many different species of whales in Greenlandic waters including the

AD. Nessie is described as being anywhere from twenty to forty feet long, with two humps, a tail and a snakelike head. Nessie's movements have been studied, and many films and photos analyzed, to determine what Nessie might be, if she exists. For the last seventy years or so, since she began receiving regular publicity, Nessie has been a major tourist attraction. There are numerous theories as to Nessie's identity, including a snake- like primitive whale known as a zeuglodon, a long-necked aquatic seal, giant eels, walruses, floating plants, giant molluscs, otters mirages and diving birds, but many lake monster, researchers seem to favour the plesiosaur theory. The case has occasionally been supported by indistinct photographic evidence, though a famous 1934 photograph was revealed to be a hoax.

Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir (born May 6, 1989) is the lead vocalist and guitarist, along with Ragnar "Raggi" órhallsson, of the Icelandic indie folk band Of Monsters and Men. Before Of Monsters and Men had been established, Nanna had a solo musical project called Songbird and was a video store clerk. The two sing about an epic battle between birds and bees, wolves running with the wind in the dark, and a whale--with a house on his back--who gives people rides across the ocean. Ghosts, mythic kings and magical monsters are more to Raggi's liking. He has filled the band's debut album, My Head Is an Animal, with such mystical things. Trumpeter, Ragnhildur Gunnarsdóttir, joined in the 2012 tour, and is simply a session player. The band has not commented on interest to eventually bring her into the band. tongue (first language learned). Traditionally, the Inuit were hunters and gatherers who moved seasonally from one camp to another. Large regional groupings were loosely separated into smaller seasonal groups: winter camps (called "bands") of around 100 people and summer hunting groups of fewer than a dozen. Each band was roughly identified with a locale and named accordingly - eg, the Arvirtuurmiut of Boothia Peninsula were called "baleen whale-eating people." During roughly 4000 years of human history in the Arctic, the appearance of new people has brought continual cultural change. The ancestors of the present-day Inuit, who are culturally related to Inuppiat (northern Alaska), Katladlit (Greenland) and Yuit (Siberia and western Alaska), arrived about 1050 AD. As early as the 11th century the NORSE exerted an undetermined influence on the Inuit. The subsequent arrival of explorers, whalers, traders,

The present islands are all younger than 4 million years and were formed separately from other land masses as a result of volcanic eruptions. The Galapagos were discovered in 1535 by Fray Toms de Berlanga, the Bishop of Panama. He was sailing from Panama to Peru when he accidentally discovered the islands. Islands became a favorite hideout for Pirates and the favorite location for whale hunters. After whales were locally cleared the whalers went there for tortoises, an estimated 200 000 or more adults had been removed. The island of Floreana was populated with a group of convicts' in October 1832. Charls Darwin visited the island in 1835, he spent there 5 weeks. Among other themes, many of Melville's works address one of the deepest questions ever posed to humanity: specifically, what is good and what is evil? Melville has faced the issue of good and evil in numerous ways, but here we will be concerned with two approaches. The first, a more symbolic and upfront approach, which Melville takes in his most famous novel, Moby Dick, where Captain Ahab represents evil and the white whale Moby Dick represents good. Second, we will consider the vague approach Melville takes in his famous short story, Bartleby the Scrivener, where the narrator struggles with how to handle his troublesome, yet polite employee, Bartleby. In Moby Dick, good and evil are faced upfront. The book ends in a valiant battle between good and evil, where the crew led by Captain Ahab fights Moby Dick in a significant battle.

PETROLEUM

Great quantities of it were found on the banks of the river Issus, one of the tributaries of the Euphrates. Ancient Persian tablets indicate the medicinal and lighting uses of petroleum in the upper levels of their society. By 347 AD, oil was produced from bamboo-drilled wells in China. In the 1840s, the process to distill kerosene from petroleum was invented by James Young in Scotland and the first refinery was built by Ignacy Łukasiewicz, providing a cheaper alternative to whale oil. The demand for petroleum as a fuel for lighting in North America and around the world quickly grew. The question of what constituted the first commercial oil well is a difficult one to answer. Edwin Drake's 1859 well near Titusville, Pennsylvania, is popularly considered the first modern well. Drake's well is probably singled out because it was drilled, not dug; because it used a steam engine; because there was a company associated with it; and because it touched off a major boom.

Others never went to sea but hunted game in nearby areas. The traditional dwelling where the Inuit lived used to be an igloo, which is a domeshaped house built out of blocks of ice. The Inuit traveled in a sledge pulled by dogs and their main weapon was the harpoon. For many centuries, the Canadian Inuit lived in nearly total isolation. Only at the beginning of the 19th century were they more permanent trading relations with whale hunters and fur merchants. Nowadays, the majority of the Inuit live in some 28 remote communities scattered across the barren landscape of the northern shores of their new territorial mainland and Arctic islands. Their traditional lifestyles have been changing a lot recently the dogsledge has been largely replaced by snowmobiles, cars and trucks. Some have central heating,

Ilmusid kaks nähtamatut (stealth) viirust Frodo Whale. Need viirused kasutasid oma kohaloleku varjamiseks väga keerukaid algoritme. Samuti avastati esimesed vene päritolu viirused: Peterburg, Voronezh, LoveChild. Detsembris loodi Saksamaal Hamburgis European Institute for Computer Anti-Virus Research (EICAR), mis on tänapäeval üheks kõige olulisemaks peaaegu kõiki suuri antiviiruskompaniisid ühendavaks rahvusvaheliseks organisatsiooniks. 2.12 1991. aasta Arvutiviiruste arv ulatus juba sadadeni

William Shakespeare - Hamlet

Call me what instrument you will, though you can fret me, yet you cannot play upon me. Enter POLONIUS God bless you, sir! LORD POLONIUS My lord, the queen would speak with you, and presently. HAMLET Do you see yonder cloud that's almost in shape of a camel? LORD POLONIUS By the mass, and 'tis like a camel, indeed. HAMLET Methinks it is like a weasel. LORD POLONIUS It is backed like a weasel. 111 HAMLET Or like a whale? LORD POLONIUS Very like a whale. HAMLET Then I will come to my mother by and by. They fool me to the top of my bent. I will come by and by. LORD POLONIUS I will say so. HAMLET By and by is easily said. Exit POLONIUS Leave me, friends. Exeunt all but HAMLET Tis now the very witching time of night, When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out Contagion to this world: now could I drink hot blood, And do such bitter business as the day Would quake to look on. Soft! now to my mother.

recessive condition. All cats in the line with the combination of yellow eye color and "blue smoke" hair color exhibited the disorder. Four of the five cats examined had bilateral nuclear cataracts as early in life as 3 months of age. No increased susceptibility to infectious disease was observed. A bleeding tendency was noted. Light microscopic studies of hair and skin revealed enlarged melanin granules. These manifestations were similar to those in man, mink, cattle, mice, and the killer whale with Chediak-Higashi syndrome. Cats are the sixth species in which this genetic disease has been reported." typical definite descriptions. That is, rather than defining the word explicitly (how would you go about completing the formula, "The = def . . . "?), Russell offers a recipe for paraphrasing standard types of whole sentence containing "the," in such a way as to exhibit the role of "the" indirectly, and to reveal what he called the sentences' "logical forms." (He does not here treat plural uses of "the," or the generic use as in "The whale is a mammal." Notice that definite descriptions can be formed without use of "the," for example by way of possessives, as in "my brother" or "Doris' egg salad sandwich," though perhaps we might paraphrase those along the lines of "the brother of me.") Here is Russell's contextual definition of "the." Let us take a paradigmatic sentence, of the form "The F is G." thought. "So where did it all start? I mean, Carlisle changed you, and then someone must have changed him, and so on..." "Well, where did you come from? Evolution? Creation? Couldn't we have evolved in the same way as other species, predator and prey? Or, if you don't believe that all this world could have just happened on its own, which is hard for me to accept myself, is it so hard to believe that the same force that created the delicate angelfish with the shark, the baby seal and the killer whale, could create both our kinds together?" "Let me get this straight -- I'm the baby seal, right?" "Right." He laughed, and something touched my hair -- his lips? I wanted to turn toward him, to see if it was really his lips against my hair. But I had to be good; I didn't want to make this any harder for him than it already was. "Are you ready to sleep?" he asked, interrupting the short silence. "Or do you have any more questions?" "Only a million or two."
