Dear Sir or Madam, I am writing to apply for the advertisement on your website requesting for volunteers to join a conservation expedition to a remote region of Costa Rica. I speak basic Spanish. I had learned Spanish at school for a year and after that I went to Spain. I lived there for a few years and I can easily speak with local community without any problems. I also took part in different swimming competitions. I like long distance in an openwater, so it is not a challenge for me to swim a lot and fast in the river or in the sea.

Estonian War of Independence

However, the Government headed by Prime Minister Konstantin Päts decided not to give up without a fight. During the first month of war Estonian soldiers were forced to retreat and the Red Army was able to occupy North- and South-Eastern Estonia. The university town of Tartu soon fell to the Red Army and in the beginning of January 1919 the enemy was just 40 kilometers from Tallinn (the capital of Estonia). At the time when few military units and volunteers of the Defence League showed desperate resistance on the front, intense organizational work took place in the rear. Colonel Johan Laidoner (since January 1919 Major General) who became Commander-in-Chief on December 23, 1918 was the coordinator and soul of these efforts. By January 5, 1919 14,000 additional men had been mobilized. Estonian forces could now set to counterattack and on the first birthday of the Estonian Republic (February 24, 1919) General Laidoner could report to

The population boom in China created stress on the panda's habitat and it led to hunting of wildlife, including pandas. A large amount of money was raised by the house-to house collection. It`s about a 40% of the whole money we got for these children. Also income from the street collection is really nice as well 30%. So, a 20% of the pie chart I made takes the jumble sale and 10% - other ways of collecting money. Overview This year it was decided to organise a fund-raising day for the charity. It was the nice and cheerful time. Many people agreed to become our volunteers this day. There were about 50 persons, mostly students from the nearest university and some my colleagues came to help us. Youngsters were wonderful! They were so enthusiastic, for example, they thought of some additional activities. We certainly add these to the programme of an event next year. Surprisingly, but just that raised the vast of money. The total raised exceeded the income of the last year. Proposals

Irish Independence: The Irish Free State, Éire, Ireland The state was neutral during World War II which was known internally as The Emergency, but offered some assistance to the Allies, especially in Northern Ireland. Indeed, more than 60,000 volunteers from the Republic fought in the British armed forces [3]. In 1949, the state declared itself to be a republic and that henceforth it should be described as the Republic of Ireland. The state was plagued by poverty and emigration until the mid-1970s. Soon after, we came up with an ambitious plan to change not just the physical landscape, but the very idea that it is okay to dump garbage at all. To make our point, we came up with the idea to clean up our entire country… in just one day! We realized right away that we were going to need help, and a very detailed plan. We gathered passionate people, quickly growing to 620 volunteers and partnering with 500 Estonian organizations. Then, we set about to understand the scale of the illegal waste around the country. Using technology, and many of our volunteers, we located and mapped the illegal trash sites to get a better understanding of where to focus our efforts on the big day. On the 3rd of May, 2008, over 50,000 people – 4% of the Estonian population – stepped up together to clean up 10,000 tons of waste

Other notable authors include Nikolay Nosov, Lazar Lagin, Vitaly Bianki and Vladimir Suteev. While fairy tales were relatively free from ideological oppression, the realistic children's prose of the Stalin era was highly ideological and pursued the goal to raise children as patriots and communists. A notable example is Arkady Gaydar, himself a Red Army commander (colonel) in Russian Civil War: his stories and plays about Timur describe a team of young pioneer volunteers who help the elderly and resist hooligans. There was a genre of hero pioneer story, that bore some similarities with Christian genre of hagiography. In Khrushov and Brezhnev times, however, the pressure lightened. Mid- and late Soviet children's books by Eduard Uspensky, Yuri Entin, Viktor Dragunsky bear no signs of propaganda. In the 1970s many of these books, as well as stories by foreign children's writers, were adapted into animation.

From an economic standpoint, it is particularly attractive as a double crop, since the yield reduction due to planting late (after the wheat harvest) is less than the yield reduction normally seen with soybeans. As a full-season summer annual crop, sunflower can follow any of Missouri's other summer annual crops. Sunflower seeds will volunteer as weeds in the next year's crop, but can be easily controlled by herbicides available for corn, sorghum or soybeans. Sunflower volunteers, most of which will emerge in the first year, also can be controlled by cultivation and hand weeding, or by extra spring tillage. It is important to use a long rotation period, since disease organisms can build up quickly and become quite severe. Producers should not grow sunflower more than once every three to four years on a given field. An even longer rotation period is preferable, since some sunflower diseases can stay in the soil for several years (up to 10 years for Verticillium spp.)

(I AP) is specially recruited locally or abroad in order to fight in an armed conflict; does in fact, take direct part in the hostilities; this makes the difference between mercenary v volunteers: is motivated to take part in the hostilities essentially by the desire for private gain and, in fact, promised, by or on behalf of a party to the conflict, material compensation substantially in excess of that promised or paid to combatants of similar ranks and functions in the armed forces of that party (first thing to prove); is neither a national of a party to the conflict nor a resident of territory controlled by a party to the conflict;

Canada) has two different types of blue eye. Albino cats are also white. True albinism causes pinkish eyes, but some albinos or partial albinos have pale blue eyes. There are too few albino cats studied to draw firm conclusions, but this mutation is not necessarily linked with deafness. It is also hard for a cat owner to determine whether their cat is a blue-eyed albino cat rather than an ordinary blue-eyed white. Jamie Linton, who volunteers at a shelter in California, came across this blue-eyed white young cat. The blue is restricted to an inner ring around the pupil, fading to white around the outside of the iris. It wasn't known if the cat was deaf. The most likely explanation seems to be that pigment remained concentrated at either end of the iris muscles as the eye grew, rather than being distributed evenly - a bit like pulling toffee where the middle section goes pale as it it stretched and the more intense colour

ESTONIAN SYMPHONIC MUSIC. THE FIRST CENTURY 1896-1996.

World War Estonia fell victim to first the Bolshevik and in the spring of 1918, German occupation. As soon as the Germans left, due to the end of the war and because of the internal crisis at home, the Russian Red Army invaded. The Estonian War of Independence had begun. Though with severely limited resources, the active measures taken by the commander-in chief Johan Laidoner (1884- 1953) improved the situation. The most effective help was given by Finland by sending 3,500 volunteers. The Estonian soldiers fought against their historical enemies: the Russian Red Army and the Baltic-German Landeswehr. Against all odds, all three Baltic states received peace proposals from Soviet Russia in September 1919. The peace treaty with Estonia was signed in Tartu in February 1920, the Soviets acknowledged the Republic of Estonia and all territorial claims. International recognition of the state followed rapidly.

But the instinctive Toto escapes. Dorothy follows her instincts, which are issuing her a Call to Adventure, and runs away from home. Shefeels painted into a corner by a lack of sympathy from Aunt Em, her surrogate mother, who has scolded her. She sets out to respond to the Call, under a sky churning with the clouds of change. T h e Call to Adventure is a process of selection. An unstable situation arises in a society and someone volunteers or is chosen to take responsibility. Reluctant heroes have to be called repeatedly as they try to avoid responsibility. M o r e willing heroes answer to inner calls and need no external urging. T h e y have selected themselves for adventure. These gung-ho heroes are rare, and most heroes must be prodded, cajoled, wheedled, tempted, or shanghaied into adventure. M o s t heroes put up a good fight and entertain us by their efforts to escape the Call to Adventure. These struggles are

great peril. Early in 1944, Captain Daniel V. Gallery, U.S.N., commanding the antisubmarine Task Group 22.3, conceived a daring plan for boarding a U-boat and capturing it if, as sometimes happened, it surfaced after depth-charge damage to allow its crew to escape. Even though the plan as a whole might fail, he might pirate the submarine's cryptographic equipment, which alone would make such a venture worthwhile. So he trained a team of volunteers in dismantling booby traps, closing sea cocks, and handling a U-boat. On May 31, 1944, be began tracking U-505, which huffduff had discovered was apparently heading for its home port at Brest. At 11 a.m. Sunday, June 4, a clear day with a light breeze, he made sound contact with the U-boat about 150 miles west of Cape Blanco, French West Africa. Its captain was at lunch when a salvo of depth charges slammed the peacefully gliding vessel, holing the outer hull
