More then a few of us pretend as if they had not seen anything. I myself would feel awful, but I wouldn't know what to do either. Although I would condone myself with the idea, that life is difficult and it's just something you have to deal with. But does tolerance mean that all manners should be accepted? No, of course not. Manners that disrespect or hurt others, like being mean or bullying, or manners that break social rules, like lying or stealing, should not be tolerated. Tolerance is about accepting people for who they are -- not about accepting bad behavior. Tolerance also means treating others the way you would like to be treated.
