Speech

Speech Hey My name is Silver and today i'm talking about Sports!! Sport is important thing in our life. I think anyone can't live without some sport. There are also people who are engaged in armchairs sport but it's not healthy to see the whole day watching TV and drinking beer. Sitting in the back of the TV is very very harmful to our body. I actually do some sports in day like playing somethimes football in summer and basketball. My favorite sport is Skateboarding. Although this is not sport. But some people thinks that skateboarding is sport and others not. For me it's sport because it's pretty hard to drive all the day and then go to home and to your homeworks and so one. I drive with my friends and it's pretty fun because i can do some tricks that my friends can't do and then they are going to learn that trick

Of course there are people who have gotten to important positions in life thanks to luck and many of them have had a lot of good ideas or have the imprtant knowledge, but majority of people are not that talentes so they have to work hard in life. I belive that if you set lifegoals to yourselt and imagine yourself completing those goals, you have the morale and motivation to actually complete those goal. You just have to think what you want, imagine that you have what you want, and there is a great chance that you will get what you want. Martin Ilsin 11A

Hue Saturation Brightness

HSB: hue, saturation, and brightness This scheme provides a device-independent way to describe color. HSB may be the most complex scheme to visualize, especially since color selection software has to reduce its three descriptive dimensions to two dimensions on the monitor screen. But once learned, it can be useful in many instances. The easiest way to visualize this scheme is to think of the H, S, and B values representing points within an upside-down cone. At the edge of the cone base, think of the visible light spectrum (preceeding page), cut from the page and pasted into a circle with shading added to smooth the transition between the (now joined) red and magenta ends. · Hue is the actual color. It is measured in angular degrees around the cone starting and endin...

The negative and positive sides of consumption

The positive and negative sides of consumption Nowadays people produce many things and they do it more and more, because people consume them. Actually they do not need those things, but they want to try something new. Before that people produced and consumed less, they bought only that what they needed. Firstly, it is positive that I can buy what I want. I can buy all necessary and pointless things in shops. It is good that people make different things because people, who go to the shop, can choose exactly that thing what he wants and he can choose price too. If he has rich, he can

Harsher punishments will reduce the amount of crime.

But how can we reduce the amount of crime? Are harsher punishments the solution? Firstly I think that if the punishments are as weak as they are now, it won't make the criminals think. They get punished and still commit crimes. Probably the biggest punishment for a petty theft is community service which isn't much of a punishment. It gives the feeling that a person can do what he wants, live like he wants and nothing happens. Furthermore I think that the life in prison is actually quite good. A place to sleep, food and people. Many prisoners who get out of prison are not afraid to go back. They have a stable life there and they are satisfied On the other hand I strongly believe that everything starts at home. People who live in a criminal neighbourhood or in a family with criminal reputation, are not afraid of the punishments. They even find it kind of exciting and it is like a game to them.

The Steam Engine

However, it didn't turn any wheels, instead it pumped water out of coal mines. In 1712 Thomas Newcomen introduced an improved version of Savery's engine. James Watt improved it even further and later came up with an idea on how to use a steam engine to power something with wheels. Alright, but why are they important? Steam engines are veryveryvery important because it was the dominant source of power well into the 20th century. They actually were the moving force behind the Industrial Revolution. So no steam engines = no Industrial Revolution = Middle Ages that last approximately forever, give or take a few days But how do they work? One of the 2 important parts is the boiler which contains water to be boiled. The second important part of a steam engine are the pistons. In James Watt's engine the pistons are moved by condensing water which causes vacuum which is created on both sides of the

The importance of college

service and manufacturing industries since today's job market is competitive and employers may not be interested in hiring candidates who do not have a degree. While employees with higher education have a better opportunity to get jobs with a lot of benefits and greater salaries. What is more, a lot of university courses include practical parts and work experience. Having a previous job experience in the field they have chosen, before they actually enter to the job market, is a huge advantage. Moreover, the more connections students collect during their internships, the more options they will have when they begin job search. On the other hand, there are people who believe that higher education is not necessary in order to get a good job. However, although factories and manufacturing were once at the center of our job market, the trend is shifting to jobs in other sectors that require more specific skills.

The future seems dark. - 2012

The future seems dark. There have been plenty of ideas discussed about what will happen in 2012. But how do we know which to trust? There's very little legitimate scientific evidence out there to tell us unequivocally what the truth is, so what do we really know? The most important thing to remember when looking into all the theories going around is this: No one knows. Not the Mayan experts, not the conspiracy theorists, not the sceptics. Recently sceptics have used comments from modern day Mayans themselves that 2012 is a hoax, and that no Mayan calendar points to the end of the world on December 21, 2012. This is somewhat misleading. While Mayans do not believe the world will end on 2012, many do believe that there will be a massive event, which will change the way we experience reality. What that actually is, however, is anyone's guess. There are many Christians who believe the coming of Christ w...

It is said that advertising is legalized lying

The stars prmoting the product most of the time dont even use it. They are just hired to make people believe that the products promoted are the best on the market. Companies need ads to make their product stand out of the large competition in the market. But are they lying? I don't think so. There are exaggerations, over-statements, or misleading information which advertisers can get away with. The art of the sale is not in lying, but it is manipulating with the truth to make it sound like you actually need a product you don't. A lot of the statements that advertisers make are not literally true, but even not they are expecting that every person is believeing everything that is advertised. In the modern competitive market, there are so many products from so many companies which do not differ very much, therefore advertising companies have to be creative to present the advertised product in a good way.

History of Football

Known as Shrovetide football or Medieval football, the inception point has been claimed as the 3rd century after the defeat of the Romans, but the practice itself was first recorded in the 9th century as part of the Historia Britonum (you can see one or two of the surviving engravings of medieval football at the British Museum). Typically played during the annual Carnival, the other tag of `mob football' gives you a sense of what it was actually like to be involved in such games. Held between neighbouring towns and villages with no limit on the number of players and practically no rule book, matches often descended into riotous scenes. Indeed, so violent was medieval football that the Lord Mayor of London actually banned the sport in 1314, claiming `there is great noise in the city caused by hustling over large footballs in the fields of the public'. The extent of its popularity and rambunctiousness is reflected in the fact there were

To a Skylark

Shelly Shelley's poem is all about praising the birds singing and how the lark can create such beautiful songs unintentionally. For the bird, singing is effortless and comes out naturally. Still the creation is harmonic and spreads joy. The poem starts with Shelly calling the bird a "blithe spirit" and expressing his admiration of how the song comes from the bird's heart without any effort. "Bird thou never wert-/ That from heaven or near it" gives the mental image that Shelly doesn't actually see the bird but only hears it. Thus the bird doesn't exist for him as a real thing but rather as something supernatural, like a ghost sending its melody while staying unseen. Then Shelly goes on comparing the Skylark to many various things like a cloud of fire, a star of heaven, a high-born maiden, a glow-worm, a rose etc. All this to give forth his idea of the lark as something unreachable, unseen but heard, royal, sweet and sensitive. The bird is

This problem comprises all the world not only Estonia. Again, I get back to Greece. Many countrys give money to help them, but still they are in the red. It is example that we have to stop living over our abilitys, we can not buy more thing than we have money but this is the way how many of us live. For the above mentioned reasons I can say that we emigrate because we want a better life and here, in Estonia, for most of people it means living over abilitys, but actually we should value money, what we have this is a challenge of the 21st century.

Internet takes a lot of time of our day, there are many dangers especially to young girls on the internet chatrooms. Still, in some point it is useful nowadays, there is a lot of information, news, chatting with friends. Talking on the Internet with friends is easy and fast way to communicate. In a chatroomyou can send pictures to your friends or doucments or make a video call. You can also play games and make a group conversation there. But actually it is not full of joy. In chatrooms there are sometimes older men who are trying to contact young girls. I saw a documentary about chatrooms lately and there were men who set up a date with under- aged girl, they recorded it and it was sent to police, because having more-than- friends-relationship with under- aged girl is against the law. Parents and schools should be teaching more about Internet safety nowadays to help kids understand about chatroom dangers.

Although, if the question was to choose between the death penalty or life imprisonment, with absolutely no possibility of parole, then the public was more divided. The reasons for being against capital punishment can be that there is always a possibility for error and the person who has been sentenced to death was actually innocent. There can be extenuating circumstances like growing up in a traumatic environment, where they have been neglected or treated violently. Capital punishment should be carried out only if there is absolutely no doubt that the accused is really guilty and does not show any remorse for his actions.

money. Songwriters started getting a lot of attention and spins for their creation. In addition, by 2021, Spotify had already reached 158 million users. Songs are making history by getting huge amounts of streams, over 1000 million streams. Another advantage is that newcomers who upload their music to the internet may get a huge boost and rapid spins, make some money and get famous more easily. On the other hand, giving Spotify the rights to stream your music isn’t actually profitable. One of the most streamed songs, Avicii’s release Wake Me Up! got over 168 million streams. And yet, that only made $12,359 in Pandora domestic royalties. Many songwriters feel like they’re work is being devalued. Consider the fact that it takes roughly one million spins on Pandora for a songwriter to earn just 90$. Also, songwriters are forced to make more incomes and leave song writing as a hobby. They may even end up quitting songwriting because nothing motivates them.

The influence of television

That time there weren't very many channels and some were Finnish. Today there are big variety of channels, both cable and public television network, but technically Estonia has gone over to digital television. Television came more popular in Estonia in the 1970's, when there were more coloured TV's published. Almost every home had at least one TV. Television wasn't just for watching different channels, but also for gaming, like Super Mario, which actually was called ,,TV game" amongst little children. Television has the potential to unite communities, provide information to allow positive cultural, social and environmental change, and to create a true global village. It also has the potential to alienate, desocialise, to promote aggressive and negative behaviours, provide negative and inappropriate role models to our children, and to create negative values such as values of consumption and possession

Film industry at the prosperity time

,,the most expencive movie!" - was being announced. Just to atract ppls attention. Actors were forced to make up scandals about their private life, so that the press would write about the movie. Everything was about the money. The most important person in the making of a movie was not the director, but the producer. He could dictate what was to be left out and what the actors were allowed to say. Altough, at the beginning years of Hollywood, the movies were actually silent and blackand white in color. That meant that the actors had to have extreamly good facial expressions and gesticulating. Was it fatalism or the need for comfort, but the big entertainment places of Broadway and theatres were full at its peak. Many ppl spent this way their last bucks, to start again on the blank page. He buys the last train ticket to the west and takes off to the seaside of The Pacific Ocean in hope to find good luck.

People who does not have their own life

the one edge of a village you farted but in the other edge of village people tell that you pooped yourself." I'm not saying that I never want to know what do other people talk about or I never talk my friends what I have heard. The difference is that I don't judge we're all humans and have our pros and gons. Unfortunately those people don't understand that and at the end of the day everyone knows that Pete and Julia kissed passionately eventhogh they actually just hugged. What's worse why do people even care about this kind of stuff. This is pretty much what I wanted to say about that topic. I'm just sad when people doesn't have their own life to deal with so they take another's life and evaluate it.

Should a man be a househusband

as persons in their own rights, not just as "a John's wife". And a child needs a parent while growning up, not just some kind of a stranger. So, if a woman wants to earn money, the best way is that a man takes over women's responsibilities and becomes a househusband. And maybe they are as much up to it as women. It is not the gender that matters, I mean personality. To sum up, there are many arguments both for and against a man as a househusband and actually it does not matter who is staying at home and taking care of everything in there. There are so many different people and characters may be very various. I do nott see a problem when a woman has a good career and a man is a good househusband. The choice is up to the family and as long as it is right, there is nothing to complain about. Elizabeth Grünbaum

Fame is a Fickle Food

"Fame is a Fickle Food" by Emily Dickinson Analysis Liisi Pajula In her poem "Fame is a Fickle Food", Emily Dickinson quite clearly compares fame to something very changing and uncertain. She compares it to food, which at first seems tempting, but is actually venomous and deadly. From the very beginning of the poem, we get the idea that Dickinson has her mind set against fame and those, who run after it. With using words such as 'fickle' and 'shifting' she very successfully demonstrates that fame is not permanent and should thus be handled with care. Dickinson also says that true fame is something one can achieve only once ("Whose table once a Guest, but not / The second time is set").

Every day we sit on computers, we are chatting on facebook or whatsapp, we are posting pictures on facebook, twitter and instagram. We have always connection with the digital world. In this movie is clearly set out that children in schools want to deal with different things. They want to be connected with their friend, but at the same time they have to listen what teacher is telling in front of the class. The results in education has fallen and that’s because students aren’t well prepared. Technology is updating very quickly and all we can do is learn how to use it.
