Konrad Mägi Konrad Mägi was born at Hellenurme, Tartu on November 1, 1878. He was an Estonian landscape painter and a teacher. He has also participated in the foundation of the art association and school "Pallas". He was one of the most colour-sensitive Estonian painters of the first decades of the 20th century, and Mägi's works on motives of the island of Saaremaa are the first modern Estonian nature paintings. As well as nature paintings, he also painted flowers and portraits. He always used sky in his paintings. His favourite colour was cadmium red, which is quite light and warm red tone. Mägi received his elementary art education from the drawing courses of the German Artisans' Society of Tartu. Mägi continued his art education in Saint Petersburg, where he was expelled due to his participation in revolutionary activities. Then he spent the summer on the islands of Åland in Finland and after tha...
Almond Blossoms by Vincent Van Gogh Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is one of the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. Vincent Willem van Gogh was born on 30 March 1853 in southern Netherlands. At the age of 37 he commited suicide after years of fighting with mental illness. He died on 27 July 1890. The Almond Blossom is a oil painting done on a canvas. Large white blossom branches like this against a blue sky were one of Van Gogh’s favourite subjects. Almond trees flower early in the spring making them a symbol of new life. They represented awakening and hope. He enjoyed them aesthetically and found joy in painting flowering trees. The blossoms of the apricot, peach and plum trees motivated him, and within a month he had created fourteen paintings of blossoming fruit trees
Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851) I'm going to talk a little about Joseph Mallord William Turner and his most gorgeous painting ,, The Fighting `Temeraire' tugged to her Last Berth to be broken up". Joseph Mallord William Turner was born on 23 April 1775. He was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker. He has laid the foundation for Impressionism. Turner is also one of the greatest masters of British watercolour landscape painting. He is commonly known as "the painter of light". One of his main themes was the helplessness and smallness of man against the destructive forces of nature. One of my favourite paintings is "The Fighting `Temeraire' tugged to her Last Berth to be broken up. Turner was in his sixties when he painted this painting. It shows his mastery of painting techniques to suggest sea and sky. It depicts one of the last second-rate ships of the line which

J.M.WILLIAM TURNER ,,THE SLAVE SHIP" Painter: Full name is Joseph Mallord William Turner, born on the 23 April 1775 and died on the 19 December 1851. He was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker. Although renowned for his oil paintings, Turner is also one of the greatest masters of British watercolour landscape painting. He is commonly known as "the painter of light". Painting: The subject of the painting is the practice of 18th century slave traders who would throw the dead and dying human 'cargo' overboard during the middle passage in the Atlantic Ocean. Turner was inspired by two sources: by the Zong Massacre of slaves and by lines from James Thomson's The Seasons (The Zong Massacre was the name given to the mass-killing of African slaves that took place in 1781 on the Zong). The violent power of the sea and the

French Revolution. In 1780 David returned to Paris and a few years later he exhibited his masterpiece Oath of the Horatii in the Salon. The Salon was a place where all the great men in Paris, who later on were participants of the Revolution, would gather, discuss relevant topics and enjoy culture. The message behind the Horatii impressed many important figures of that time, including Thomas Jefferson, who appreciated the message of patriotism and individual sacrifice on the painting. (Roberts, 1989, p.4, 5) In the Oath of Horatii David used a very popular story from mythology that captured the patriotism of men and at the same time the feeling of abandonment among the women. The legend tells the story of a noble father who gives swords to his three sons, who take an oath to fight for their country. Moreover, at the same time the wives of the three sons are in deep morning and represent the more delicate part of the legend and of the painting. (Roberts, 1989, p

It is only after a sort of 'get acquainted' period that I see what I have been about. I have no fear of making changes, destroying the image, etc., because the painting has a life of its own. I try to let it come through. It is only when I lose contact with the painting that the result is a mess. Otherwise there is pure harmony, an easy give and take, and the painting comes out well. It talks about the evil, that lies inside humans, and when it comes out, there is nothing we can do. Dorian Gray had the same problem. At the beginning of the book he was a very wealthy, intelligent man with a very high status. His beauty charmed others. Basil Hallward was inspired to draw his portrait in order to preserve his beauty and youth. With Lord Henry practically "brain-washing" Dorian, he recognised that as long as he remained as young as he was in the painting, he would be handsome. He feared the day he would age and start to form wrinkles. For that not to happen, he traded his soul for his youth. From the moment he becomes forever young, he begins to deteriorate. Even when he reaches his epiphany and sees his evil through the portrait, he simply denies seeing it and continues his malicious deeds. He started off as one of the kindest, most innocent and modest men ever. But since he traded his soul, it all changed
using these as a basis for his large exhibition paintings, which were worked up in the studio. His pictures are extremely popular today, but they were not particularly well received in England during his lifetime. He did, however, have considerable success in Paris. Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows was painted by John Consatble in 1831, one year after his wife's death. He later added nine lines from ,,The Seasons" by 18th Century poet James Thomson that reveal the painting's meaning: That the rainbow is a symbol of hope after a storm that follows on the death of the young Amelia in the arms of her lover Celadon. I like the name of the painting Sailsbury Cathedral from the Meadows, because there is everything very clearly depicted in the painting is the perception and the message. In front of the painting you can see chariots with horses and in the background can be seen church and rainbow

All good quotations were present but it felt to me that in some places they were a bit too forced (crammed together). Alltogether I liked the movie and it gave away the meaning of the book pretty well. The storyteller explaines in the beginning that Harry likes to play with people. Not good. The novel has no reference to Dorian being painted with an Egyptian goddess shaped like a cat who could grant his wish, as the film has. Appears throughout the whole movie. Girls signs the painting- Glaidis, Basils niece. Dorian stole her heart. Also important in later recognising the corpse. In Wilde's original, Sybil Vane is a Shakespearean actress whom Dorian observes playing Juliet, rather than the gifted dance-hall singer seen in this film. This necessitates altering Dorian's motive for breaking up with her. In the novel, her acting has become shallow as a result of really falling in love with Dorian, and his sense of illusion has been dissipated. In the

Lady with an Ermine Lady with an Ermine is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci, around 14891490. The painting is one of only four female portraits Leonardo painted. Despite sustaining much damage the surface is much rubbed, the background was lightly overpainted with unmodulated black, the upper left corner has been broken and repaired, a transparent veil on the model's head was turned into an extravagant hairdo and several fingers were grossly retouched - it is nonetheless in better condition than many of Leonardo's other paintings.
American Art Revision Materials Colonial Period Portraiture. The first typically American paintings were illustrated maps but painting remained scarce during C17. There were 4 reasons: settlers came from backgrounds where art was unusual, Protestant attitudes was averse to imagery and painting, the English were not yet distinguished in visual arts and religious art was non-existent. The colonial period is almost entirely limited to portraiture (deemed as `useful' by settlers). These first paintings were made by limners and artisans without formal training and were based on what was popular in England during the Tudors. The paintings are technically unskilled, strongly patterned, flat and linear. Spanish painting in America was mostly religious.

Wilde, this book was his only novel. In the London home of his aunt, Lady Brandon, the famous painter Basil Hallward encounters Dorian Gray. Dorian is a smart, wealthy, and impossibly gorgeous young man who immediately captures Basil's eye. Basil paints Dorian several times. When the book starts the artist is finishing his first portrait of Dorian as he truly sees him, but, as he admits to his companion Lord Henry Wotton, the painting frustrates him because it reveals too much of his feeling for his subject. Lord Henry, who enjoys scandalizing his friends by celebrating beauty, youth, and the selfish quest of satisfaction, disagrees, claiming that the portrait is perfect. Dorian arrives at the studio, and Basil hesitantly introduces him to Lord Henry, who he scares will have a harmful influence on the vulnerable, young Dorian. Lord Henry makes a speech to Dorian, explaining that the only thing important in life is beauty
Although changes took place everywhere in Europe, Florence was the centre of the Renaissance. Fifteenth century Florence was an exciting place to be. At that time the city was independent and had a population of about 60,000 . Leonardo da Vinci (1452--1519) was one of the most famous people of the Renaissance period. He was not only a famous painter but also studied science, designed machines and drew plans for new inventions. Young Leonardo grew up near Florence and studied painting with the great painters of the city. After a few years in Milan, where he painted for a famous duke ,he came back to Florence and painted a new hall for the city council. In his paintings da Vinci experimented with many techniques that artists hadn't used before. For example, he started to use perspective in his paintings. He put small objects in the background to make them appear far away. He also experimented with light, shade and colours. Da Vinci finished painting The Last Supper in 1497

According to a recent survey, many artists could soon be having some serious money problems as The National Art Association is planning to stop paying a financial support to professional painters and it seems that they can not sell their paintings either. The survey which interviewed over 1000 The National Art Gallery guests was conducted by British Government. It found that guests are not flattered to buy art. Expensive Two out of five thought that it is nonsense to buy a painting. They thought that they can see some art in National Gallery if they want. Half of guests thought that they might buy some paintings if they had some spare money to spend. Unfortunately 90 per cent of them told that they never had any free money. Collectors So one out of ten guests told that they buy paintings frequently. But most of them were actually collectors and only two guests said that they collected art from young painters
Easter traditions in Estonia Easter traditions are rather young in Estonia. Our grandmothers took the eastern habits from BalticGermans without taking over the meanings painted eggs just seemed so beautiful. So for us, their grandchildren, painting eggs has no connection with religion traditions. It is more like a way of expressing one's creativity. We use different colors and techniques: painting with herbs, watercolors, markers, special colors etc. There aren't any certain patterns to use, everyone can do it any way they like. We also give colored eggs as presents to friends and children are cracking the eggs. More than Easter Estonians have traditionally celebrated a spring. There is a day near Easter called Paastumaarjapäev (the Day of Virgin Mary and Fast) which is a women's day. Women and girls go together to swim in a spring in the sunrise it will
Leonardo Da Vinci We are making a presentation about Leonardo da Vinci. He was an Italian polymath and he had a wide range of interests including sculpture, science and painting. He is widely considered one of the greatest and most famous painters of all time. He was born on April 15th 1452 in a town called Vinci, that is also where he got his name from. Very little is known about his early life, but he spent his first five years with his mother and then moved together with his father. Leonardo had 12 half-siblings who were all much younger than him. Leonardo received an informal education in Latin, geometry and mathematics. At the age of 14 he joined a
Advertising, Ceramics, Specialty composition, Computer design, Photography etc. For example in Computer design we study different picture and video editing programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Corel, Adobe Illustrator etc, we edit photos and make ad's. In Advertising Psychology we study why are the ad's like they are, how the work, why does the company use the colors they use. We analyze and explore different ad's and commercials. In Painting we paint and draw Nature Morte and at the end of every semester we rip them on the walls and all the teachers rate them. At the end of every year we have a few month of practice where we go to some Design company or like I did go to some newspaper and practice what we've learned. This is also graded by the teachers. Artistic design graduates are trained to work at advertising agency's, in media, and manufacturing companies.
Orphism, which is similar to abstract art, abstraction and cubism in his work. Delaunay concentrated on Orphism, while his later works were more abstract, reminiscent of Paul Klee. His key influence related to bold use of colour, and a clear love of experimentation of both depth and tone. While he was a child, Delaunay's parents divorced, and he was raised by his uncle, in La Ronchère (near Bourges). He took up painting at an early age and, by 1903, he was producing mature imagery in a confident, impressionistic style. In 1908, after a term in the military working as a regimental librarian, he met Sonia Terk, who he later married, though at the time she was married to a German art dealer who she would soon divorce. In 1909, Delaunay began to paint a series of studies of the city of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. The following year, he married Terk, and the couple settled in a studio

When Dorian hears the ideas that Harry has for life of pleasure, beauty and youth, he adopts them immediately. As he sees his portrait, Dorian becomes aware of his beauty and says the fateful wish that if only he could remain young and the portrait would become old. The first sign that his wish had become true is seen when Dorian is very heartless and rude to Sibyl Vane, an actress to whom he wanted to marry. When young Dorian discovers that his painting has changed and that his wish had come true, he hides the painting to a room where no one but him has access to. As time goes by, he becomes more infected by the ideas of Henry, but he loses control over his behaviour and his reputation in public decreases. This grows concern in Basil, who has deep feelings for Dorian and Basil tries to put some sense into the boy's mind. After Dorian had killed Basil, the same coldness and indifference, which had been there after

Roman style, on the basic plan on a Latin cross. The inside of the church is exceptionally large and open, the ceiling being supported by a special arch supporting system and the sides characterized with arched windows. The benches inside can fit a total of 1500 people. When the first service was held there, exactly 200 years after the consecration of the first wooden church, the reconstruction was not completely finished – missing were the steeples and the altar painting, as well as the proposed figures in the wall niches that actually haven’t appeared to this day. The most valuable and significant feature of Charles church is the large fresco decorating the apse. It portrays Christ calling out to people, ’’Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest’’ written above. It is known to be the first fresco in Estonia made by an ethnic Estonian, Johann Köler, who completed the painting in 10 days on July 23, 1879.
The works in the exhibition of the museum are arranged according to the various schools of different countries. About 100 paintings attributed to the 16th-18th century masters from the Netherlands school form the most valuable part of the collection. Among them are the works of art by Pieter Breughel the Younger, Frans Pourbus the Younger, the workshop of Marten de Vos, Adriaen van Ostade, Jacob Gerritz. Cuyp, Jan van Kessel, Hans van Essen and others. There are some examples of German panel painting from the 16th-18th centuries, represented by the workshop of Lucas Cranach the Elder, Benjamin Block, Franz Werner von Tamm, Anton Graff and others. Angelica Kauffmann who in 1760s-1770s worked in London, is the representative of German late Rococo. Italian art is illustrated mostly by 17th-century masters like Bernardo Strozzi and Francesco Trevisani. An important part of the collection belongs to the Russian portrait painting from the 18th-19th

Renoir and impressionism A revolution was beginning in French painting. A number of young painters began to rebel against the traditions of Western painting and went directly to nature for their inspiration and into the actual society of which they were a part. As a result, their works revealed a look of freshness that in many ways departed from the look of Old Master painting. The new art displayed bright light and color instead of the solemn browns and blacks of previous painting. These qualities, among others, signaled the beginning of impressionist art.

Before he can post it, lord Henry comes over and comforts him with the news of Sybill Vane's suicide. As years pass Dorian's two-faced personality developes even further. He lives a secret life, where he goes to shady bars to pick fights with foreign sailors, and is suspected of smoking opium. The things he do show up on the painting. At first there are only slight signs of cruelty, but later the face on the painting "deforms". Dorian is really afraid of someone seeing the portrait so he hides it in a locked room. He only shows the portrait to Basil, when he wants to take it to Paris for an exhibition. After Basil comments on the satanic look of the person in the portrait Dorian kills him for no reason. The two boys that Oliver went with decide to steal a napkin from a man in front of a bookstore, but the storekeeper notices it and the boys all run. Even though Oliver didn’t steal anything he still runs because he is in panic. He is blamed as the thiev and has to go to court. In court, Olivers actual innocense unfolds and he is free to go, but because of his bad health mister Brownlow, the judge, takes him to his place. When Oliver is sick at Brownlow’s house he notices a painting of a beautiful woman on the wall. Mr Brownlow notices a similarity in the woman and Oliver. Oliver and Brownlow become good friends and Brownlow trusts Oliver to go and take the compensation money to the bookstore by himself. When Oliver is on his way to the bookstore, the boys decide that Oliver can’t be lurking around on his own because he knows too much and they bring him back to the shelter, also taking the money and books from Oliver.

I was inspired by some of the movies I used to watch when I was little. There is always a scene where there is romance or happiness and that scene will definitely take place in the beatiful capital of France,Paris. I would love to see the amazing Eiffel Tower . I wanted to visit some shop there. I`m sure any place where I go in Paris is very intresting. Paris, there are a lot of wonderful museums and buildings, for example Louvre Museum, the triumphal Arc and so on especially the painting everyone wants to have a look at her secret smile. Also enjoy the beauty of this wonderful place. But I`dont like to live in Paris, because I like to live in Estonia because this is still my homeland.
Kujutuslaadilt on tema linna-, lille- ja maastikupildid maalilised, heledad, vaheldusrikkad. Teda on peetud üheks Eesti esimeseks impressionistiks. But there is not a wide variety of dishes. You should add more dishes to your menu. Service Another thing to mention is that the staff was friendly and helpful. I think that a good staff means a lot for customers. But on the other hand, the service is a little too slow, particularly when the restaurant gets busy. More people should be hired. Atmosphere Finally, the restaurant looks really old and it does not look very clean anymore. I think that painting it again will give a really good result. Furthermore, I came by car, but there was nowhere to park it. You should clean up the old storage yard next to the restaurant and convert it into a car park. Conclusion In conclusion, although there were some drawbacks, the Marco’s fast food restaurant is a nice place. Using my suggestions will make the restaurant more popular and convenient.
